Chapter 202 Two 'Angels
Standing in the observation room, Tilan's gaze fell upon the defeated Lelisa Academy. Despite the changes in attire from the past, she still recognized that slightly petite girl as the companion she had met in "Dream of Glazed Glass," who was none other than "Deklabi."
Had she gone to Lelisa Academy? Thinking of "Deklabi," who was practicing the Radiant Feather Sequence, Tilan wasn't surprised. On the contrary, it seemed quite fitting.
Like herself, Deklabi was not fond of socializing. Although they had each other's contact information, they rarely communicated. Plus, with all the significant events over the past year, Tilan had been too busy to keep in touch with people she knew from before.
It seemed that "Deklabi" had had a decent year at Lelisa Academy. The young girl blinked, noting that Deklabi had improved enormously compared to a year ago. In just her second year, she had barely stepped into Sequence 5, but she was not yet proficient and was very poor at combat.
Advancing to Sequence 5 was no easy feat, and the other shortcomings were not so important. She must be one of the two students rumored to have been blessed by an Angel, recalled Tilan, thinking back to what Annelli had told her last semester.
After the third match ended, it was time for the final group battle, which also accounted for the largest proportion of the score.
In the preparation hall, everyone discussed tactics, focusing on how to deal with the two formidable opponents, especially Seraphiel, who had appeared not long ago.
"Ahmed may be strong as a 'Holy Sword Wielder,' but we can handle containment and obstruction. However, Seraphiel is troublesome," they said.
"Not only does she have wings through Angel possession, but she also has that special pale Holy Flame. When fully unleashed, she nearly has the combat power of Sequence 6 and is particularly effective against the Withering Sequence."
"This is indeed troublesome," the crowd sighed, struggling to come up with a good idea. Read exclusive adventures at My Virtual Library Empire
As Tilan listened to everyone's discussion, she slowly joined them, drawing their attention in hope that the unique Songstress could provide a solution.
Over the month, the group had developed a certain dependency on the black-haired girl, perhaps even an illusion that she was capable of anything.
"Looking at me is no use," Tilan said as she sat in her seat, smoothing the hair at the side of her face with her right hand.
"The level of routine training determines success. Although a suitable tactic can be effective, we can't always rely on last-minute strategies," she said, expressing her belief in solid preparation rather than praising the practice of scrambling at the last moment.
"But this time, the strength of the opponent indeed seems a bit overwhelming," she understood everyone's difficulties, as it wasn't every year that they faced a special talent like Seraphiel.
The 'Holy Sword Wielder' Ahmed was strong, but within everyone's understanding. After all, such individuals appeared every year. But Seraphiel was an exception, no longer a competitor you could conquer through normal training and study.
"If there really isn't a better solution, let Weston take her on. Meanwhile, the rest of you quickly deal with the other students from Lelisa Academy. If you can overcome the others before Weston falls, then join forces to encircle Seraphiel alone, there might be some chance of victory," Tilan suggested, though she felt that if Seraphiel fought with all her might, she could likely eliminate all the present members by herself.
The opponent's strength was too great, and it was too much of a counter to the Withering Sequence.
But she couldn't join the battle this time and could only rely on the members present, so they were more likely to fail.
Unable to think of a better strategy, the members decided to have Weston hold off Seraphiel while the others tried to resolve their opponents as quickly as possible.
As everyone discussed the strategy and action plan for after the break, a familiar figure joined in.
"Have you finished discussing? I'm mostly recovered now," Valeria stood by the table, her thick tome floating next to her, supported by a ghost.
"We've decided," the crowd answered, informing her of the plan as the intermission gradually came to an end.
"Now, I declare the last and most exciting group battle to begin!" the referee, standing on an elevated platform at the center's side, struck a small bell, producing a clear ringing sound.
On one side of the combat arena were the black-clothed students from Edith Academy, and on the other were the white-clad students from Lelisa Academy, positioned in an equilateral trapezoidal formation—a standard choral performance array.
With the battle underway, Weston was the first to charge out, followed by a black skeletal warhorse that galloped forth and allowed him to mount it. Soon the black flaming blaze that enveloped the skeletal warhorse covered him as well, and pitch-black armor fully geared him up.
The heavy hooves trampled the dirt of the combat field as Weston swung his spear, cleaving and shattering the white Light Sabers hurled at him, pressing forward until Ahmed, wielding the Holy Sword, stood in his way.
"Ten Swords · Mountain Giant,"
Unlike before, Ahmed's Holy Sword did not rise in a brilliant golden mist; instead, it became extremely heavy and plunged straight into the ground.
Stone pillars rose in response, blocking the path in front of the choir, which had now formed a circle. In the center of the space, Deklabi was protected and surrounded by her companions. Her hair and body floated slowly, and a golden sign appeared at her brow, shining brightly and exceptionally striking.
Standing below the choir, Seraphiel looked up at the little angel "Deklabi," slowly rising above her. With a casual wave of her hand, a great sword wrapped in flames appeared, and turning around, she fiercely blocked the thrusting Weston Trey.
What do you think?
