Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva

Chapter 628 265: Joint Statement of Northern Universities_3

With a sigh of resignation, she opened her eyes and looked at the object Annelli was holding. The headache was inevitable; while her popularity within Star Domain was on the rise, the workload seemed to be increasing as well.

"Alright, but after this, I really need to sleep," she said as she turned over to sit up, spreading the documents again and reviewing each one in turn.

Some of those were financial approvals from the Academy's student council, some were collaboration applications from external companies, and others were arrangements for joint activities between northern academies and Edith Academy, among various items.

"For this one..." she picked up a special encrypted pen, and after her fingerprint and biometric features matched, the tip of the pen lit up. She then slid it across a document, automatically applying her unique signature key pattern, indicating her approval and agreement. Then came the next document.

After dealing with those, two quiet hours had passed, and it was now past four in the afternoon.

The sunlight outside the window was slightly orange, suggesting the approach of evening. The sight of a few Light Cotton Birds playing around a large spider on the lawn filled her with a sense of contentment.

Putting down the encrypted pen, she stretched lazily. She handed the processed documents to the maids to pass on to Annelli upon her return. Then she walked out of the house into the yard bathed in slanted sunlight.

She amused and trained the Light Cotton Birds that were slowly maturing, arranging them in a row and feeding them tasty nutritional beans. She then stroked each one in turn.

After growing for the better part of a year, each of these Light Cotton Birds was about the size of Tilan's palm, now around Sequence 2, they had grown quite fast.

By the end of the year, she estimated they could probably advance to Sequence 3. As for reaching Sequence 4 to 5, that would have to wait until the following year.

It was uncertain whether she could truly cultivate a Sequence 8 Transcendent bird, but as long as she kept at it, there was hope. She picked up each little creature to gently straighten their feathers and gradually taught them basic Magic Marks and inscriptions. Although they were not yet one year old, birds developed quickly, and being Transcendent species, these little ones could already roughly understand her simple commands, such as eating, sleeping, flying up and down, fetching things, turning over, and bathing.

After teaching the five fledglings, Tilan's attention shifted to two snakes in the treetops, each hanging from a branch, one hidden in the leaves and the other basking in the sun.

These two seemed quite at leisure. She thought she should put some effort into nurturing them as well. Having accumulated time after their last advancement, probably, they should be ready for the next stage.

As for the giant spider, she glanced down at the fluffy creature at her feet, which was scaring the little Light Cotton Birds with its threatening display. It could have advanced to Sequence 5 some time ago, but due to a previous failure, it was reluctant to try. After all, living with Tilan meant being looked after without the pressures of natural competition, so it was not particularly concerned with advancement.

It seemed time to let the giant spider experience the harshness of society. She couldn't continue being lazy like this. Tapping on the creature, she picked it up, planning to give it a thorough bath tonight and then encourage it to try advancing.

The advancement templates for Transcendent animals and humans were quite different, and couldn't be completely assessed by human standards. For example, at Sequence 5, Tilan could easily defeat some weaker Sequence 6 individuals. However, the majority of Sequence 5 Transcendents lacked this strength; many of them couldn't even beat a Transcendent animal of the same Sequence.

In short, humans of the same Sequence Stage varied widely in combat capabilities, with Transcendent animals roughly ranking in the middle or lower tiers, stronger than many Transcendent individuals in clerical roles but not as powerful as those specialized in combat.

If she could properly raise these little ones, perhaps they could participate in the "Sunshine Young Dragon Cup" competition, to see how other Breeder Masters from different Star Domains engaged in combat and cultivation.

With these thoughts, Tilan gave the giant spider another tap, hoping the creature would understand her 'good intentions.'
