Chapter 686: 686 Conflict

Chapter 686: Chapter 686 Conflict

“Finally hit level 30.”

Li Yao grimaced, not knowing how many demons they had slaughtered in the past few days. Although the experience gained from using the tank didn’t fully accumulate, the sheer amount was overwhelming. As a result, they were just a little past level 29.

The demon-warcraft level boss’s experience he soloed caused him to gain nearly a full level. Just as this boss’s attributes wouldn’t change with an increase in players, the experience awarded by these monsters would be evenly split among the players.

Li Yao restored his mana, then proceeded along the original path.

Along the way, Li Yao gathered a fair number of crystals and silver merit medals. He had, just moments ago, killed at least a dozen boss-level savage bees.

That, coupled with a few unfortunate mutant wizard demons, was worth at least two golden medals of merit.

...

Li Yao went to the first blue savage bee boss corpse and, as expected, saw several clusters of light.

“Kid, stop.” Li Yao heard a distant shout as he was about to pick up the loot.

Li Yao simply ignored it, immediately stashing the loot in his bag, then turned towards the source of the sound.

“Damn it, kid. I told you to stop. Didn’t you hear clearly?”

A huge fiery fireball roared towards Li Yao along with the man’s words. Li Yao stepped aside, the fireball flew past his ear, and hit the distant stone wall with a thunderous impact.

The entire cave seemed to shudder in response to the explosion.

The stone wall collapsed, a female player stumbled and fell on the other side.

“Damn it, why is this wall empty?”

“This was the perfect opportunity to kill her, it won’t be easy to snatch treasures from her in future.”

“Go after her.”

Li Yao glanced, and was stunned. This disheveled player, depleted of mana and low on health, was actually Edward from the number one guild.

“Why is it you?”

“Why is it you?”

They both said simultaneously.

They both shared a laugh, Li Yao shrugged, conceding, “Looks like your troubles are bigger than mine.”

“Not necessarily.” Edward gestured with her lips, “Take another look.”

Li Yao realized, there were five or six more Light Faction players behind the werewolf player. These weren’t part of the same team that was chasing Edward. Li Yao suddenly realized that Starfire hadn’t been scattered.

“Kid, hand over the things if you’re wise.” The werewolf player saw clearly that there was a golden bow and a golden badge.

The golden badge alone was an irresistible temptation, not to mention the bow that could possibly be a golden dress grade item.

“Yours?” Li Yao mocked the werewolf player.

“I saw them first, so they’re mine.” The werewolf player replied confidently, “Right, brothers?”

The players behind him agreed, laughing heartily. On the other side, three or four more players had come out of the shattered cave entrance, all targeting Edward.

Li Yao and Edward were blocked by two groups of people.

“Why do some people always want to seek their own death?”

Li Yao sighed. Even though he had lost contact with his pets, these few players were still not something he would bother to worry about.

“Kid, hand over the things smartly, and remember grandpa, grandpa is…”

There was a blinking bloodthirst in Li Yao, his health bar instantly decreased a bit.

Then it came an arrow, before the werewolf player could finish his words, the arrow had hit his chest.

Even though he was highly armored, the power of the arrow was simply overwhelming.

His body was instantly blown away, his soul dissipated in the process, his unfinished words were swallowed, knocking down the three players behind him in the meantime.

“I’m not interested in the names of the dead.” Li Yao spoke as he hefted his bow, a flurry of arrows killing the people who had been behind him.

No matter how much they tried to avoid or counterattack, they couldn’t stop Li Yao’s arrows. The power of the arrows, not to mention the damage, was simply too great for them to resist. They were all knocked off their feet, scattered like tattered cloth bags.

The few players who emerged from the broken cave entrance were instantly terrified. Initially, they were planning to defeat Edward quickly, but they stopped in their tracks after witnessing the spectacle.

“Mr. Prairie Fire, it’s no wonder you’re renowned as Hunter. Seeing no vulnerability but extraordinary strength in you despite being a low-profile hunter.” The leader of the other group was a Caucasian woman whose golden long hair matched her race, the high elf, but she carried a giant sword, “I’m Blood Demon from the Blood Council, your reputation as a Hunter precedes you.”

Li Yao raised an eyebrow, and picked up the spoils from several people.

“Cut the chit-chat, it’s not up to you to judge my power.”

Li Yao didn’t feel flattered at all. He’s fully aware of his skill honed over ten years, others know nothing about it.@@novelbin@@

“You must know who Edward is, she’s the greatest threat to us. Luckily, I have an item that guarantees at least two of her best items will drop if she’s killed. As long as you don’t interfere, we’ll split the loot evenly and let you select first, how does that sound?” Blood Demon asked, her voice full of temptation. As she spoke, she sprouted bloody wings, revealing two fangs.

Li Yao frowned. A Vampire, a mutated undead from a high elf by the Lich King. Li Yao had not expected someone to accomplish the Blood Duke’s mission and mutate from a high elf into a vampire.

This was the opposition showing off their power.

Edward’s face turned grave, said, “I know how to navigate the central area and am capable of searching for your teammates.”

Li Yao smiled and said, “Sorry, I’m more interested in the Soul Lock Scroll on you. As far as I know, it’s a guaranteed drop.”

Blood Demon’s face changed as she said, “Impossible, how could you possibly know about the Soul Lock Scroll.”

“That’s not important. Now, I’m giving you the opportunity to leave. Just leave the scroll behind. Otherwise, I will have to collect it myself.” Li Yao began to notch an arrow.

“Damn it, if you want me dead, then try it. Who do you think you are?”

Blood Demon’s wings fluttered as she shot into the sky, then turned into a streak of blood, diving towards Li Yao.

The players behind her didn’t react in time as Li Yao let loose an arrow.

Clang…

The arrow collided with her sword mid-air, the blood light around Blood Demon shattered, and her descent halted.

However, that was just the beginning. Her arm went numb, and she almost dropped the giant sword.

Yet, the second arrow was already on its way.

All she could do was use the giant sword to shield her body.

Clang…

With a spark, Blood Demon, who had already started to fall, was shot up into the sky again.

Boom…

Her body hit the flickering ceiling and then fell to the ground.

Just as she was about to get up, Li Yao’s third arrow arrived.

Thump…

With the giant sword no longer obstructing, the arrow went straight through Blood Demon’s neck.

Splat…

A black scroll exploded out…
