Chapter 691: Chapter 691: No Results

The third-tier composition is rather complex, comprised of some innate demigods. These demigods, either granted power by the true gods of the pyramid or the gods of the first tier, achieve demigod status. An example is the Five Guardian Dragon Kings, who already qualified to become a demigod and then gained high-level divine power.

This grants them sufficiently powerful strength to compete with the gods of the second tier.

Another type of demigod is a natural-born one. They are often formed by natural laws, like the Five Elemental Lords. They are semi-gods formed naturally from the earth, elemental dominators, even stronger than the actual elemental divine spirits in terms of combat power.

Another kind of natural-born demigod is the offspring of gods. The Forest Guardian is the most famous example. His father, a stag representing the wild’s power, is one of the oldest and most powerful demigods in the Ancient God World. Even though he is a demigod, his combat ability is on par with second-tier gods.

It is said that Cenarius, the Forest Guardian, is the offspring of the stag and the Moon God. Some also claim he is the child of the stag and one of the five giant dragons, the Green Dragon Queen.

No matter which legend is true, they all demonstrate his noble identity. In the Ancient God World, he is the source of the bloodlines of several robust creature races such as the tree demons, Forest Guardians, and centaurs.

...

The last type is those who achieve godhood through cultivation. These entities acquire a divine grid by obtaining godhood and ignite the divine fire through worship to achieve divinity.

The strength of these divine entities varies widely. The weaker ones are not even qualified to be put on the same pedestal as the natural-born demigods.

The divine entities worshiped by the trolls, and those evil gods who desire to obtain godhood, also fall into this category.

The most straightforward example is the Nightmare God, who is currently a demigod. He is in the process of igniting the divine fire to earn more followers. However, even trying to descend to the main plane is extremely difficult for him, resulting in him being thwarted by Li Yao. @@novelbin@@

The Spider Queen is the origin of all spiders in the Ancient God World, controlling them and the fallen Elf Clan.

Edward had already achieved great feat by acquiring a power rune from the Spider Queen and embodying it as a tattoo.

Although it couldn’t compare to the Touch of Darkness, it was one of the top-tier possessions among the current players.

“Alright, I have communicated with the Spider Queen. Now I need a sacrifice.”

Edward looked at Li Yao and said, “You don’t need those bodies, do you?”

“I don’t care.”

What Edward referred to were the corpses of the demons. She had already guessed that Li Yao had unleashed a Dark Arrow, capable of summoning skeletons anytime. It was also evident that Li Yao had some underhanded tactics ready.

“That’s great then.” Edward knelt on one knee, and a sinister incantation echoed from her mouth once again.

With the incantation, a huge rune, emitting an endless dark aura, appeared, followed by blood-colored mist enveloping these demons.

Within an instant, these corpses swiftly shriveled up, resembling wind-dried old trees, then turned into a fine dust that dispersed in the next instant. Soon, even traces of them were gone.

At the same time, Edward was completely engulfed by the red glow. Her aura suddenly became much stronger, and her health and attack power had increased several times over.

The phantom of the Spider Queen enveloped her. With her roaring, Li Yao saw countless spiders appearing from every corner.

These spiders, big and small, were numerous that they seemed endless. The small ones had little combat power, but some big ones were even Hell creatures, Ghost Hunting Spiders, an endless sea of them that appeared from an unknown place.

Edward’s blood-red eyes suddenly turned to Li Yao, whose face changed as he produced a leader-level crystal in his hand.

Then, by crushing it violently, a fiery aura enveloped Li Yao.

A colossal Hell Battle Scorpion materialized, its size so vast that Li Yao standing on its back appeared minuscule. Li Yao estimated that there was enough room on the scorpion’s back for ten people.

However, despite being summoned by Li Yao, the Hell Battle Scorpion didn’t show much affection towards him, especially considering his perceived weakness.

Its immense tail, embedded with Flame Crystals, gradually approached Li Yao. The Battle Scorpion required a blood sacrifice within the first minute of its appearance, or it would backlash.

Li Yao’s feet were firmly fixed onto the Hell Battle Scorpion by the Dark Touch, causing the Battle Scorpion to tremble upon sensing the energy of the Dark Touch.

Its tail backed away from Li Yao, then a red beam of light flickered from it.

A chieftain-level Ghost Widow Spider, which was approaching Li Yao, was instantly pierced by the beam. The Hell Battle Scorpion opened its jaws as the phantom of the spider entered its mouth, and the spider’s body shriveled up immediately.

“Do you want to kill me?” Li Yao glanced at Edward casually.

Edward draped a sly smile and responded, “How could I? I just wanted to test and see what hidden cards Chairman Liaoyuan had left. Now, it seems, you’ve indeed been keeping things under wraps.”

“This is truly the last time,” Li Yao, suppressing his internal rage, squeezed out a few words.

“Of course, of course.” Edward’s face grew serious as he took several steps back.

She was well aware that her tattoo was not comparable to Dark Touch, but this series of demons’ blood sacrifices resulted in more power than she had ever imagined. Her argument was that not even the Dark Touch could protect Li Yao.

She didn’t expect Li Yao to summon the Crystal Scorpion of Hell. She knew best that the Crystal Scorpion of Hell was the most terrifying variant of the Hell Battle Scorpions.

Its body was impenetrable like demon iron and almost had no weak points. At least for current players, the Crystal Scorpion of Hell was a nightmare, even sharp weapons were of no use.

The Ghost Widow Spider was indeed a strong creature, but it had no resistance against the Crystal Scorpion.

Edward let out a roar and countless spiders spread out.

“Let’s go too. If these spiders encounter our teammates, I will naturally know.” As the spiders spread out, the tattoos on Edward’s body gradually disappeared. She said weakly: “You don’t mind if I ride your Crystal Scorpion too, right?”

“Sure.” Li Yao kicked lightly, and the Crystal Scorpion trembled and started crawling on the ground. Edward blinked and appeared next to Li Yao, and a few spider legs behind her immobilized her body.

Then, the Crystal Scorpion started rumbling forward.

The following journey was not smooth, but with the Crystal Scorpion and two cannons on its back, they were unstoppable, whether by other players or monsters.

Of course, some arrogant players had become the food for the Crystal Scorpion.

“It’s been three hours already, haven’t you heard anything?” Li Yao was getting impatient, he tried looking as well but still couldn’t find any of Starfire’s team members.

“I tried my best. There are too many forks in here and they’re all unusually large. Many of my spiders have died in battle. I can only leave it to luck.” Edward was also helpless. If she had a choice, she wouldn’t want to travel with Li Yao either.

But she was just a fire mage. Once she ran out of mana in a siege, all she could do was run away.

“Forget it, let’s go to the next level. Once we get through this place, we would naturally bump into each other.” Li Yao was done searching…
