Moonquest: A Journey To The Stars

Chapter 70: SCREEECH!: Chaos Ensues

Chapter 70 - SCREEECH!: Chaos Ensues

Running down the street, a young Wulfin child hobbles as fast as she can, her ponytail swishing side to side. Seeing the small alcove on the side of one of the buildings, her eyes widened with hope. Her hands outstretched, she managed to cling onto the corner, trying to squeeze in.

But it was all for nothing...

Pheeew!

A sharp whistle was heard. Her eyes widened in fear; she had no time to scream. Within a few seconds, her body vaporised into ashes, the only evidence of her existence being the small boar plushy that lay on the ground, covered in soot...

Scenes like above occurred everywhere in the city:

Some were vapourised instantaneously, giving them no time to scream...

Some blew up like balloons, bursting like confetti, their agonising faces magnified...

Some were even converted into unholy abominations, a mixture of man and machine, causing further destruction across the city...

Eldruis, though heavily fatigued, forced himself to forget, constantly reminded of the death and destruction reigning in the city. Shit! If the SCREEECH! And the assault by the Demon King's army was not enough of a clusterfuck, the Dungeon exploding was the last straw! If something isn't done quickly, we're all fucked...

Dashing through the streets and trying to save as many of the civilians as possible, Eldruis tried his best to identify as many of the beasts as possible:

What on Earadun is this!?

Forget about their bizarre looks, their Abilities don't even have levels!

Shocked at what he saw, Eldruis grew more and more afraid. To him, it was the end of the world!

None of them looked anything similar to the life forms of today: Their long metallic tentacles, their bright red crystalline eyes, their horrific weapons capable of accomplishing what only tier-5 and above can do...

Shuddering with fear, Eldruis kept destroying each variant he came across, trying his best to reach the centre of the fallen dungeon and making sure that whatever that blasted Succubus' aim was, she would never succeed!

Just as he reached the edge of the Great Hole, a large shadow fell across him...

"Hmm hmm hmmmm~"

Humming through the air, Sexulia glided across the vast chasm that housed the once mighty members of the Church of the Broken God. Strewn all across were the mighty Artifacts that gave them the power to rule the world, yet now lying discarded across, their shells corrupted and broken in disrepair.

Below, sounds of fighting could be heard, as warriors of all races fought against the remaining Guardians of the mighty tomb. Despite them coming from various races and tiers, they all had one thing in common:

Chained around their necks were collars filled with heart-shaped lockets, each signifying who they belonged to–

Their mighty mistress, Sexulia!

"For her mightiness!"

"For our Goddess!"

"For her Angelicy!"

"For her love!"

"For her to step–"

"Alright my boys, keep on doing the good work. The lucky one shall have the right to sleep with me for a whole week, so do your best!"

With a slight dance, she encouraged them to fight harder for her. Emboldened, they threw themselves harder into the fight, determined to cinch the prize for themselves.

Only they did not know that she never intended to keep her promise...

Landing on top of the altar, she made her way across, standing on the centre of the dais. There, a small bronze container floated in the air, pulsating occasionally in a light golden colour.

"Ah, come here to momma..."
