Mountain Sitting Immortal

Chapter 216: Widening Chasm.

The restoration of his body was quick. His crushed bones that could be put together and fused were fused, while those that were too small or too broken were removed to make room for a replacement to grow.

His bleeding stopped. His muscles were mended, and his body was made whole again.

Finally, his discarded body parts were destroyed. Bones, muscles, skin, and many others that were removed were turned to dust.

Even the blood on his clothes and armor was destroyed. By the time the array disappeared, he was squeaky clean, and the white room had been restored to its previous cleanliness.

As things were, no one would believe that someone nearly bled to death in the room a few minutes ago.

It took a while for Arthur to become conscious and to wake up. When he did, he was shocked by the lack of pain.

Then he saw the clean room and his restored body. He was still staring in disbelief when his whole world flashed, and he was removed from the room.

He returned to the teleportation platform disoriented. He was sitting when he was teleported, so he appeared to be sitting when he appeared on the teleportation platform.

He stood up and checked himself again to make sure that he didn't have any hidden injury. He did this by moving his body into many difficult forms.

Then he checked his result for the test through the identity card. He had held on for 26 minutes before he fainted. This earned him 351 performance points.

In comparison, the highest performance for the endurance test was 31 minutes and performance points of 496.

He was nowhere near the top 100 with his score. He wasn't even in the top 1,000. His position was somewhere at 10,000 and falling. He found it unbelievable.

He said to console himself, "At least I'm still the overall best."

He got a score of 4,558 in the first test while he got 351 points in the second test. Together, he has a total of 4,909 performance points.

4,909 points have secured his position as number one. It is undisputed.

This is not the case with the second position and the rest. The people in those positions have changed owners many times since the second test began.

The people that performed well in the first test performed badly in the second test, so their position fell while others took over. The people that took over were not geniuses with high cultivation.

As he walked back to the ship, he looked over the ranking list and analyzed it to the best of his ability. He had collected information about the people in the top 100 because he thought they were his competitors. But even they performed worse than he did. He couldn't see their names anywhere in the top 50,000.

These people are true children of cultivation families and children of other rich cultivators. They couldn't take the pain and pressure like he could, so their performance was poor in the second test. In fact, their performance was abysmal.

The people who performed well in the second test appeared to be the less fortunate people. These people didn't have power, but they had grit and were willing to go through a lot of pain for the slightest chance at greatness.

He thinks this is so because he saw Thompson's name in the top 1,000 of the second test, and he also saw the name of one of his students in the top 100. He also saw a lot of poor people in the top 50,000, while the rich scions were difficult to find in that range.

So Thompson and some of his students had performed way better than him in the second test. He didn't like that at all.

But what improved his mood was that the person in the second position of the overall ranking had a score of 645.

This person was not the best performer in the second test and was nowhere near the top 100 in the first test. But they performed relatively well in both tests, which helped them to stand out in the overall evaluation.

He said to himself, "On one side are those with high cultivation who performed well in the first test but tanked the second test, and on the other side are those with poor cultivation who performed badly in the first test but blew the second test away."

"But in the middle of them is this guy who doesn't have any strength or weakness. They have above-average cultivation and above-average tolerance for pain, yet they rose above those with excellent qualities."

He curled his lips and said, "Interesting. Very interesting. I want to see if they can continue to shine with their above-average qualities."

He doesn't feel any pressure from this person at all because, unlike this person, who was above average in both tests, he was extraordinary in the first test and above average in the second test. So he doesn't have a glaring weakness that can be exploited.

He even has the qualifications to look down on them and see what else they can do. After all, the difference between 4,909 points and 645 points is a wild chasm.

He doesn't dare say that this difference is insurmountable. But he can say that the difference is difficult to overcome because the difference between him and the second position after the first test was 4,558 - 390, which was 4,168, while the difference between the first position and the second position after the second test is 4,909 - 645, which is 4,264.

It is clear that the chasm has only widened after the second test. So it won't be an understatement to say that the lead he has on the second position will be very difficult to overcome.

This stroked his ego and fulfilled his need to dominate. It made his steps lighter as he walked back to the ship.
