Lu Wanwan was also somewhat worried. Getting into a taxi in such a dazed state, she didn’t know what to do if something happened, “Okay… then, I’m really troubling you.”
She didn’t coyly refuse the jacket draped over her; she simply tried as much as possible not to let him touch her.
Just now, when the night breeze had blown over her, she felt considerably more sober. But the moment she took a step, she stumbled again, moving as if tracing the character for eight, and everything she saw doubled. She nearly toppled headfirst.
“You still can’t manage on your own,” Yi Cheng immediately extended his hand to lift her by the elbow, “Or… let me carry you on my back first. Look, there’s still some distance to street over there to hail a cab.”
Lu Wanwan waved her hand, instinctively unwilling to have overly intimate contact with the opposite sex, even just for drunken assistance.
“Fine, then just help me a bit, and we’ll walk to the roadside, how does that sound? Can you walk?”
...
Lu Wanwan had little strength to speak, nodding in a drowsy state.
She wasn’t considered overweight, but at a height of one meter and sixty-seven centimeters, she wasn’t too light either. Yi Cheng, who was a more slender type of guy, found it somewhat hard to manage with one arm around her.
The two, especially from behind, staggered left and right as they moved, looking like two drunks causing a ruckus.@@novelbin@@
When Gu Annan came down from Huangcheng, he had called Lu Wanwan’s phone, but she didn’t answer!
After he briskly walked out of Huangcheng’s main gate and saw those two wavering figures heading toward the street, his expression darkened to the extreme.
“Wanwan, hold on a little longer.”
Lu Wanwan, not being careful, felt her right leg go weak and reflexively reached out to grab something. His arm was extended across her, so when she reached out, she grabbed for Yi Cheng’s waistband and nearly dragged him down with her.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I just don’t have much strength,” Lu Wanwan uttered apologetically, “Maybe we should slow… ah–”
Before she could finish her sentence, her wrist was gripped with a pain so intense it felt like her bones might shatter.
Yi Cheng was harshly pushed aside, staggering several steps back. She suddenly lost her support and felt all strength leave her body, like a kite with its string cut, on the verge of falling.
After several dizzying steps, her waist was suddenly gripped tightly by a firm, strong arm.
Seeing Gu Annan’s gaze, her heart instantly chilled by half, and she sobered up considerably, feeling a bone-deep chill throughout her body.
“Who are you?” Yi Cheng, suddenly pushed down by one hand, was burning with anger inside, especially after seeing Lu Wanwan go directly into that man’s arms, “I warn you to let her go, or I will call the police.”
Gu Annan didn’t even glance at him, his eyes like shards of ice that could slice a person to pieces.
The fear rising from the bottom of Lu Wanwan’s heart made her subconsciously grip the cuffs of Gu Annan’s sleeves tightly; she knew how brutally this man, who seemed too lazy to bother with anyone, could act if he really set his mind to it.
Not to mention calling the police was useless against the Gu Family’s people, and in a one-on-one fight, Yi Cheng was just an issue that could be resolved with one kick from Gu Annan.
She was just about to explain and have Yi Cheng leave first when her stomach churned violently beyond endurance, and she vomited while holding onto Gu Annan.
Yi Cheng stood still, finally regaining his composure. This man obviously had an affluent, if not noble, status—his clothes alone were expensive. And Lu Wanwan actually…
“You, don’t leave, I’m going to call for help,” Yi Cheng, as if escaping, glanced at the man’s furiously wrathful face and hurried back toward Huangcheng.
Lu Wanwan vomited to her heart’s content, like turning on a faucet, expelling all of her dinner.
It wasn’t until her bleary eyes saw the shoes submerged in her vomit that she realized with a startle of horror. She sharply looked up, “I’m so, so sorry!”
What do you think?
