Mr. Mu Proposed Again Today

Chapter 30 - 30 30 Are you being petty_1

Chapter 30: Chapter 30 Are you being petty?_1 Chapter 30: Chapter 30 Are you being petty?_1 The three had chatted idly about this and that, and only then did Su Wanxia reluctantly let the two of them leave.

After spending a boring afternoon alone, Mu Yingchen finally arrived at the hospital from the company after seven in the evening, accompanied by Ji Hua and Mu Feng.

As soon as they arrived, the caregiver spontaneously left, and Mu Yingchen approached Su Wanxia, his lips curling slightly, “Feeling any better today?”

Wanxia continued to look through her architectural plans, merely humming in response without looking up at him.

Mu Yingchen raised an eyebrow and added, “Some emergency cropped up at the company, so I’ve been busy all day.”

Wanxia hummed again, still engrossed in her architectural plans.

This time, even Mu Feng and Ji Hua curiously raised their brows. Was Wanxia giving their brother the cold shoulder? Aside from her, they doubted there was a second person who dared to do so.

Mu Yingchen laughed helplessly, sat at the edge of the bed, and pulled the plans out of her hands, placing them aside, “Can I take it that you’re angry at me?”

Upon hearing this, Su Wanxia instantly raised her head to retort, “Not at all!”

“Not at all?”

“No!”

“Hmm, good to know,” Mu Yingchen said, seeing her stubborn stance and not pressing the issue further.

Ji Hua approached with a full smile, “Wanxia, are you bored? Miss your big brother’s company?”

At Ji Hua’s words, Su Wanxia’s face flushed red as if he’d touched a nerve.

“When will you ever learn to control your mouth, Ji Hua?” Su Wanxia snapped out of irritation.

“Alright, alright, I’ll shut up, I’ll keep my peace,” Ji Hua said, grinning mischievously as he sat down on the sofa. Seeing a fresh fruit basket on the table, he casually asked, “Wanxia, who visited you today, bringing such nice gifts? I came empty-handed!”

Su Wanxia pursed her lips, “Manhui and Yining, both acquaintances of yours.”

With a “thump!”, the apple Ji Hua had just picked from the fruit bowl slid from his hand to the table, a flicker of indistinct emotion crossing his dark eyes before he simply uttered an “oh” and fell silent.

Su Wanxia was somewhat baffled; Ji Hua was so cheerful just a moment ago, and now he was suddenly playing it cool.

Mu Feng shook his head helplessly and said to Wanxia, “Well, we’ll be heading back then. You get some good rest.”

“Yeah, okay.”

Only then did Ji Hua stand up from the sofa, bid farewell to Wanxia and Mu Yingchen, and left with Mu Feng.

Mu Yingchen, sitting by the bed, watched Su Wanxia, “Did you behave today?”

At this, Su Wanxia looked at Mu Yingchen somewhat resentfully, “Don’t you know everything already? You never let me do this or that.”

“I just want your foot to heal faster,” he said, lifting the blanket to check underneath.

“In another four or five days, I should be able to move around,” Su Wanxia felt that her foot was no longer in pain, as she could already move it a little today.

“I think it won’t take four or five days, two more days should be fine.”

“No, the doctor said at least five days.”

Su Wanxia felt frustrated; how did “four or five days” suddenly turn into “at least five days”?

But the greater frustration was yet to come…

It seemed that Su Wanxia’s attitude that night had gotten under Mu Yingchen’s skin, because for the following five days, he was constantly in her presence.

Her hospital room had almost become his personal office. Thank goodness the room was spacious and the environment pleasant, or Ji Hua and the others might have mistaken her for abusing Mu Yingchen, having to work while taking care of her—uh, this patient with inconvenient legs.

Why, you ask? Because whenever he was there, she couldn’t spot a single caregiver around.

During this period, Mu Chuyang visited her once, and after throwing a bit of a fit upon seeing her state, he began to complain about his suffering, saying his older brothers were mistreating him, sending him on business trips and market research without a single day of rest.

Once he started on this topic, there seemed no end. It wasn’t until Mu Yingchen couldn’t stand it anymore that he let Chuyang leave to continue his work. Before leaving, Chuyang pitifully told Su Wanxia how much better it would have been if he were the one with a twisted ankle.

Su Wanxia sweatdrops at that thought, having now realized that each and every one of the Mu Family brothers was an oddity.

After another two days, she was almost fully recovered. Su Wanxia stood on her own two feet, feeling sincerely grateful in her heart: she could finally be self-sufficient again! And most importantly: she no longer needed someone else to carry her to the bathroom!

“Mr. Mu, Miss Su’s injuries have healed. She can be discharged,” the doctor said cautiously to Mu Yingchen.

“Mm,” Mu Yingchen nodded indifferently, “then proceed with the discharge procedures.”

“Understood.”

Hearing the words “discharge procedures,” Su Wanxia was so thrilled she could barely contain her joy. Mu Yingchen, seeing her so happy, also slightly curved the corners of his lips, but deep inside a reluctance began to grow; once discharged, he would no longer be able to hold her every day, nor share the same sleeping space with her.

When Su Wanxia said Yan Yirou and the others were coming to see her off from the hospital, Mu Yingchen didn’t say another word and briskly ushered her into the car.

She found herself having to notify them one by one not to come, to avoid them missing her.

“Where to?” Mu Yingchen suddenly asked.

Where to? It was only 9 o’clock in the morning, not a good time to explain to her mother why she was home, “Let’s go to the company first!”

Once at the company, Su Wanxia felt like she might as well have gone home!

That was because Mu Yingchen once again assertively took her to his office, declaring she should rest for one more day before returning to work tomorrow.

Fine! Although he wasn’t her boss, she was after all on his turf, and whatever he said was the final word!

Secretary Aisha was taken aback to see Su Wanxia and Mu Yingchen entering together. With the president being away from the office so often recently, could it have been because of Miss Su?

Su Wanxia saw Aisha’s expression and awkwardly smiled at her.

“Aisha, bring in some of the less important yet backed-up paperwork from these last few days,” Mu Yingchen instructed as they walked toward the president’s office.

Aisha quickly snapped back to reality and hurriedly complied.

Su Wanxia felt a bit embarrassed for herself, lowering her head slightly—as it was because of her that he had let those tasks pile up.

Once Aisha had brought in a large pile of files, Mu Yingchen was buried in front of the computer, busy at work.

Su Wanxia, bored, started roaming around his spacious, tidy, and luxurious office.

She stopped in front of the long bookshelves, taking a serious look through them. They were all financial, fiscal, and management materials related to corporate operations. Shaking her head, she thought she was already a workaholic, but compared to him, she was but a drop in the ocean.

Moving to a different area, she spotted a few books about architecture on the top shelf. A hint of surprise flitted through her heart and she tiptoed carefully to pull those books out.

She took the books joyfully to the sofa to browse. The more she read, the more familiar the book seemed, perhaps because she had a hobby of exploring architectural style collections and might have seen it somewhere before.

With that thought, she began to read intently, pondering how she would design using a different style that would be more appropriate if it were up to her.

All of a sudden, the hand flipping through the pages came to an abrupt halt.
