Mrs. and Mr. Smith

Chapter 826: Rumors about the Masked Woman

Chapter 826: Chapter 826: Rumors about the Masked Woman

According to the description, it clearly refers to the masked woman.

Ethan Smith immediately looked down.

He saw that there was a densely packed line of text below, all of which contained rumors about the masked woman.

According to the book’s record, the masked woman suddenly appeared five thousand years ago, killing countless people.

“Five thousand years ago… that must be her first successful reincarnation.” Ethan Smith thought to himself.

Because Ethan had met the masked woman in the Immortal Slaying Sect, and at that time, she had already wiped out the entire sect a million years ago.@@novelbin@@

Ethan continued reading and scanned the entire section.

After reading, he found out the masked woman indeed killed countless individuals five thousand years ago!

There were sect masters who merely looked at her twice and were consequently annihilated along with their entire sect, not a single disciple spared.

Even worse, some faced death for merely gossiping about her behind her back.

All her companions, both young and old, contemporaries, parents, relatives, were not spared and died at her hands.

“At the age of eight, she killed her father, at twelve, her mother, and by fifteen, she had completely destroyed the Sunspot Sect.”

“Her father was a renowned chivalric figure, incredibly strong, and a Nascent Soul ancestor.”

“Her mother was a famous Pill master who was shattered by a single strike.”

“At eighteen, she wielded a purple sword, destroying Featherly Mansion and killing tens of thousands, their blood forming a river.”

“At nineteen… twenty…”

The book practically recorded the masked woman’s deeds throughout the years.

She almost became the common enemy of the world; major sects even joined forces to revive a top-tier ancestor to eliminate her.

However, the outcome was not ideal, the ancestor went and never returned, struck down in the sky, his blood painting the heavens.

Ethan was shocked as he read.

She killed a Nascent Soul at merely eight years old?

If Nascent Soul is converted to the current standard, that would be at the Martial Saint Realm!

According to the record, the masked woman killed at least a hundred thousand individuals, all of whom were members of reputable sects with esteemed reputations.

But what Ethan didn’t understand was why she killed her own parents who gave birth and raised her?

As he continued, the book’s record indicated that she had a penchant for slaughter, killing on whim; she was someone everyone agreed should be executed.

With this, the record concludes.

Ethan continued reading, finding that the masked woman would reappear every year, but never fully maturing before being cut down halfway.

With these implications, the masked woman probably only reincarnated successfully once.

“This lifetime, it would be her second successful reincarnation, Ethan thought, his face turning a bit grim.

If all the records in the book were real, then Clare Richardson might indeed become a threat in the future. A demon who kills without blinking!

“She has stepped into the Martial Saint Realm now and found the mask. I’m afraid that no one can obstruct her progress.”

Ethan regretted, if he had known earlier, he wouldn’t have let her leave.

He should not have led her into cultivation at least!

If it wasn’t for him, Clare Richardson might not have reawakened her memories!

Ethan put away the book, worry filling his face.

The records in the Scripture Pavilion were fuzzy, but the fear obviously permeated through every line.

You have to realize that the records were about events five thousand years ago; at that time, Martial Saints were not worth much, and there were countless top-level cultivators.

Nevertheless, no one could resist her then, let alone now?

“If there’s a chance, I need to find a way to stop her.” Ethan took a deep breath.

He was the one who allowed her out, so naturally, he had to take the associated responsibilities.

He didn’t continue on reading, although the book recorded many characters, Ethan either didn’t know them or see any relevance to him.

But now, two days have passed, and not much time is left until the third day.

Once he descended the building, everyone was still immersed in their techniques.

But the techniques they picked were mostly Earth Rank Skills.

In the following time, Ethan casually selected several techniques that agreed with him and casually started picking up on them.

In a blink of an eye, three days had passed.

Emerson Holmes promptly appeared at the doorway.

“Everyone, time’s up, follow me outside.” Emerson said.

Everyone didn’t waste time, following behind Emerson, exiting the Scripture Pavilion.

This trip to the Scripture Pavilion was quite rewarding for Ethan.

Putting aside the two Divine Rank Techniques, just those two pieces of information were worth it.

After exiting the Scripture Pavilion, Ricardo Bowman and Ethan chatted: “Mr. Smith, I have to admit, your gains this trip should be the greatest. Two Divine Rank Techniques, it’s truly enviable.”

Ethan Smith laughed, “I was just lucky.”

At that, Ethan diverted the topic and asked, “Speaking of which, have you heard of the Guardian’s rumors?”

“Guardian?” Ricardo Bowman was puzzled, he clearly didn’t know of this.

“I’ve heard of it.” At this moment, Daphne Green came over.

Ethan glanced at her and greeted, “Miss Green.”

Daphne Green laughed, “What Mr. Smith means is the agreement between Martial Saints and Guardians.”

“Exactly.” Ethan quickly nodded.

“Miss Green, do you know anything about it?”

Daphne Green chuckled, “This isn’t the place for a chat, perhaps we should go somewhere else?”

“Sure.” Ethan nodded in agreement.

Just as they were about to leave, Cedric Hodge suddenly approached from a distance.

He stood next to Ethan, a teasing smile on his face, “Ethan Smith, my uncle asked me to give you a message. He advises you to stop being so arrogant. In this age, martial arts mean nothing. Without the support of capital, in the end, it’s all for naught.”

Ethan scoffed, “Tell your uncle, I don’t want to bother with him. But if he dares provoke me, I wouldn’t mind seeing his business empire topple.”

“Megalomania! Let me tell you, in front of capital, you’re but an ant! Stop being so arrogant!” Cedric warned sternly.

After letting those words loose, Cedric turned around to leave.

“Stay.” At this point, Ethan took one step forward and pressed down on his shoulder.

Cedric could only feel as though a mountain was pressing down his shoulder, he was unable to move.

“What the hell are you doing!” Cedric asked frostily.

Ethan ignored him and instead asked, “Is there any washroom around here?”

Emerson pointed to the distance, “The washroom’s over there.”

Ethan acknowledged the response, grabbed Cedric by the shoulder, and said, “Let’s go.”

Cedric seemed to have realized something, a flash of panic crossed his face, “Wha… what are you doing!”

Ethan chuckled coldly, “I’ve even forgotten about someone as insignificant as you. Why out of the blue come to embarrass yourself?”

“I’ll consider today as giving him a lesson, and a warning to your uncle Steve Hodge. Let’s go”

After saying that, Ethan took Cedric by the hand and turned to the toilet.
