Mummy Evolution

Chapter 29 29: No one wants you dead

Sett sat back down. Doted son? He thought in amusement.

Even if his mother abused him in all the ways possible and called it training, deep down, Sett knew that was indeed just her way of doting on him.

To her, transforming Sett into some strategic monster was the way she showed her love.

But Sett had to agree, if one day he became stronger than his mother—he would surely beat her up. Just like she beats him up. She could heal quickly anyway. In fact, he would make her apologize by—

Another whack in the head woke him up.

Yes, it was not the time to think about that.

He had to become the Pharaoh, right?

"Then I have no choice but to become the Pharaoh," he said, "Then it's alright, right? With your support, I doubt I can be suppressed."

Neilara swirled her wine. "You see the world too simply. You only see Ehyut and start thinking it is the whole world. Even within Ehyut, I have enemies I can't just kill. And they won't want you to become a Pharaoh." She shook her head. "You think it is all too easy."

"I mean," Sett shook his head. "I know there are other empires out there. But aren't we the strongest empire? Aren't you the strongest person here? Why should I worry when I have you?"

In the most ancient of times, the ancestors of Sett's family copulated with Gods. And Ramses royalty were the children between man and gods. That was why they had Axioms. They were truly demigods compared to others.

Even if the other Empires out there had Tomb Raiders, it was no problem.

In fact, compared to a strong Axiom Holder, people like Tomb Raiders were nothing.

What could an army of Tomb Raiders do if asteroids fell on them?

What if a rain of fire was made to fall from the skies?

What if millions of swords appeared in the sky, each sharp enough to sever mountains?

There were Axioms like that out there!

And Tomb Raiders could only watch as they were killed from a distance.

In fact, his mother alone had killed multiple Tier 5 Tomb Raiders like killing babies.

Axiom Holders were the strongest.

When he had the strongest Axiom Holder of them all on his back, why should he be worried?

"Those Empires are not weak, Sett," she said with that distant look in her eyes. "They didn't sleep with Gods like our ancestors, but things are a bit different from how it used to be now. Some of those Empires outside have descendants of our royal family there."

Until this generation, the Royal bloodline had never been allowed to spread outside the family. There were Axioms used on the bloodline to make sure that no royal ever had children with anyone who was not a royal.

Royal blood was to be kept within the family!

But now, those restrictions had been removed by a particular minister from the royal court, who had the ability to remove Axiom restrictions. That had happened before Sett's mother took the throne and by now, a lot of royal family members must have been taken in by the other Empires.

That meant that slowly but surely, other Empires are also gaining Axiom Holders.

And who knew what kind of abilities they might have?

Sett understood another problem. "Are they being used as…"

"Yes, they are being used as breeding pigs." Neilara's face was as gloomy as water. "They are made to sleep with others as much as possible. Make babies en mass." She mocked: "It must be your dream to be one of them."

Sett gritted his teeth. "I am no one's pig. Then…"

"If my information is correct, those empires already have growing princes with Axioms. If those people rise to power, they will be a big threat to your rise to the throne.

"In fact, if they can somehow kill me before you inherit everything, you will immediately become a prisoner of war. A slave, as I told you earlier."

Sett visibly grew uncomfortable at the casual mention of her death.

A silence stretched in the carriage even as the carnival happened outside.

"Drink this," she offered him the remaining half of the wine she had been drinking.

He took it, drank it with a single gulp.

It was rare that his mother allowed him to drink alcohol.

She slowly embraced Sett.

"Son, if you are not willing to rule, you can only be ruled. So learn what I have to teach you, become a monster they have no choice but to fear."

After a long conversation with his mother, Sett left the carriage and walked around the carnival street.

Unlike his mother, whose face was famous across all heaven and earth, his face had been hidden from public art. Thus, no one knew he was the prince—Sett Ramses.

But that didn't stop Sett from becoming the center of attention.

He soon had a girl on each side, hands wrapped around their waists, but even then, his mind was not there.

His mother's words still echoed in his mind.

Sett had been trapped in an illusion, thinking that he and his family were invincible. That even if he acted lazy and lascivious all his life, he had his mother looking for his back.

The worst case scenario was just being punished by his mother severely. Not death, not slavery, not a life worse than death.

He turned and asked the girl beside him, "Do you think a ruler should be feared or loved?"

She blinked, her fancy eyelashes quivering. "Loved? Yeah, I think loved is better. If you love someone, you will not betray them."

The other girl nodded from the side, too.

Sett looked at them both and grew immensely disgusted for some unknown reason.

What was that unintelligent answer?

How foolish was this woman?

Filth.

If he had asked Zainah, she would have had a great opinion on the subject. And she didn't look so fake like these two.

Sett let go of their waists and before they could find fault with him, vanished from the scene.

Sett was a Tier 4 Tomb Raider, no matter what was said. If he wanted to leave, these girls wouldn't even know.
