Chapter 208: Assemble II
Assemble II
'They aren't ordinary Apex ranks.' Vazar was the first to realize as Kim and Silver rushed him.
He fired off multiple shots from his bow, but the shots were effortlessly avoided as the two of them continued to advance.
Before he could shoot some more, Kim suddenly dug her heel into the ground and in the next moment, she was in front of Vazar, her hand gripping his shirt.
He didn't have the chance to do anything when she slammed him into the ground causing it to shatter.
Vazar grunted and grabbed her gauntlet before pouring as much corruption energy as possible. But to his shock and dismay, the energy was easily dispersed as Kim just punched him in the face multiple times before he lost his cool and erupted with a wave of energy that forced her to retreat.
He wasn't destined to get any reprieve, however, as Silver broke through the wave of energy and threw a punch. The punch instantly caused Vazar to feel a torrent of pressure which forced him to dodge. But Kim was already upon him as she teleported to his back and kicked him, sending him flying into Silver's first.
His eyes bugged as the fist dug into his stomach and he coughed up a torrent of blood before he was sent flying.
But before he could fly far, Kim suddenly stretched her hand out and the clock in her eye started ticking backwards.
"Get back here." She said as Vazar was suddenly pulled towards them once more, and Silver had another punch ready. As such, the moment he reached them, Silver rocked him right in the jaw and he shot away even faster than before.
Kim teleported again, but Vazar was prepared as he spun and sent forth spears of corruption. However, Kim simply turned into a purple blur that flashed passed all the spears and destroyed them in an instant.
She was in front of Vazar once more, and this time, electricity crackled around her body as she looked down on him, the position of the light and her body causing her facial features to be obscured except her growing eyes.
Vazar tried to put his hands up, but Kik was simply too fast, and her fist crashed into his face, sensing him shooting down like a star.
The ground exploded from the impact and snow was thrown into the air as Vazar rolled and bounced off the floor like a ragdoll.
'They aren't giving me a chance to breathe!' He cursed as he managed to twist his body and avoid a silver beam that would have put a hole in him.
Then he rolled away as more beams appeared, their speed just a bit less than what Kim was producing.
'Dammit! Give me a break!' He shouted inwardly as corruption energy bloomed and turned tentacles of corruption that writhed around him.
They shot in all directions, but mostly towards Kim and Silver who didn't seem perturbed in the least. Instead, they just locked eyes with each other and moved forward once more

Jenny stifled a scream as he entire body was baptized in a beam of light that pierced into the artificial sky. It threatened to disintegrate her as she resisted it through the augmentations fusing with her beasts granted her and sheer stubbornness.
When the attack ended, smoke was floating up from her as half her skin had gotten carbonized. It was quite the sight.
Before she could move though, her shadow rippled, and chains of an impossibly dark color shot put from it and wrapped around her limbs in a vice grip.
She tried to struggle, but her efforts were cut short when Umbra suddenly crashed his massive body into her with terrible force. She instantly felt multiple bones crack or break as liters of blood flowed from her mouth due to the impact.
What's worse was that the chains didn't break from the impact, so none of the force was dispersed by her flying away.
Umbra naturally wasn't done as he pulled back slightly before raining down all sorts of attacks using his paws. As such, she didn't receive any slash wounds, but her body was simply getting battered.
If there was one saving grace, it was the fact that whenever Jenny fused with her beasts, she gained all their attributes. The creature shrouded in mist was called a Mistborne and had the greatest regenerative properties among her tamed beasts as it could heal from serious wounds in moments. Moreover, her dragon and turtle which were called the Cerulean Dragon and Carapace Turtle weren't weak in that department either. As such, Jenny's pure survivability was simply diabolical at this moment.
Something that was proving to be useful as she was just barely healing faster than they could output damage.
With a roar, brilliant blue flames erupted from her body and burned the chains away while making Umbra back off a little as Jenny ascended.
The flames around her body kept rising in temperature and her hair flapped wildly.
She glared at the twins as she prepared to fire off a powerful attack, but Chiara was faster. With a flick of her tail, Jenny found herself trapped in a bubble of light that seemed to have no problems resisting the power of her flames.
That's when Umbra decided to join in as he opened his maw and a horrific Aura began to leak out as he prepared his dragon's breath.
It's common knowledge that among Christopher's subordinates, the twins have the best magic competency and output. So when it came to their dragon's breath, the potency could simply be described as horrid.
Jenny felt all her senses go off as her instincts screamed at her to move. But the bubble held her in place. She'd needed at least a second to break out of it. A second she didn't have.
As such, she focused all her energy on the powers of the Carapace Turtle. The shell on her back suddenly grew to encompass her entire body as multiple layers of barriers surrounded her.
Almost immediately after she created the barriers, Umbra released his beam.

Constella barely withstood a barrage of slashes from Belladonna as the Vampire moved with a deadly grace. Her fighting style was reminiscent of a captivating yet lethal dance that made her movements difficult to predict and counter.
When it came to raw strength, while she was impressive, she wasn't thumping everyone here. But her versatility was truly staggering.
She truly was a jack of all trades. But instead of a master of none, she seemed to be a master of all as she handled all her different traits with near-perfect precision.
From her purely physical attributes to using her blood magic to screw with Constella's blood, to distracting her using her charm, to using her red ice and fire in brief but timely instances, Constella felt like she was being overwhelmed by the sheer intensity of it all.
Still, if it was just that, it shouldn't have been too bad. However, the issue was her damn blood magic.
When it said that she was using it to screw with her, it wasn't just in small instances. No, Constella was actively resisting her blood exploding in her body as Belladonna used her magic with chilling efficiency.
Under normal circumstances, she wouldn't have been able to do such a thing. But Constella had been bleeding since they started fighting, and Constella had managed to get a drop of that blood, which allowed her control of Constella's blood to skyrocket.
As such, Constella was heavily defending as attacking too much could cause her to lose her concentration and her blood would wreak havoc in her body.
Then there was that damn dragon.
If Belladonna was a jack of all trades, Lenax was simply an unstoppable wrecking ball.
Constella avoided as many attacks from him as possible, not just because getting hit would mess up her concentration, but because getting hit would hurt, a lot.
When the fight started, he landed the first hit, and her arms nearly exploded from the pressure of the hit. Lenax, as stated before, carried the greater physical strength of all of Christopher's subordinates, surpassing even Silver.
As such, someone as physically oriented as Constella couldn't match, resulting her her defending against Belladonna as much as possible while avoiding any sort of attack Lenax could send
Sadly, while the dragon was strong, that wasn't all he could do.
At some point, Constella felt a biting chill come from the depths of her being. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Lenax staring at her, his blue-slitted pupils glowing ominously as he attempted to turn her into an ice sculpture.
Constella managed to protect herself with her Mana, and she'd have complained inwardly about how it was so difficult to defend against the strange Mana her opponents possessed.
However, she didn't have time to dwell on that as her brief freeze caused an opening to appear for Belladonna, one which she exploited.
With a downward slash, Constella failed to block completely as the blade found a gap in her armor and drew blood.
What do you think?
