Chapter 227 227: Creating Systems
Creating Systems
To a degree, Christopher felt like the expression of Creation and Void energy within the Primordial Expanse wasn't stressed enough.
Especially the Creation part. Christopher frequently used Void energy in his fights, but he had little Creation feats tied to that concept besides using and fusing elements together.
But literally, Creation was just that, the ability to create.
That's where he got the inspiration to create separate systems for his subordinates, and that's what the system intended to use for this venture.
The entire thing would be a bit more intricate than that, but for now, Christopher wanted to get the foundation done before he got into anything else. Then from there, he would be able to start creating the follow-up parts of the system that his people could use to choose what oath they wanted.
The interesting part of this was that Christopher didn't intend to create every path himself. The reason was that, for starters, that would be extremely difficult, and even with his extreme intellectual and thought-processing speed, the number of paths he could think of would be limited.
So he intended to make these systems adaptable.
Their initial layouts would be easy enough. For instance, if the path chosen was one intended to focus on skills, they would probably receive fairly simple prompts, like missions that grant skill points that allow them to upgrade their skills.
These missions would be rudimentary at first, but as they grow, the system will grow with them and adapt to their style. Once that happens, they will start seeing missions related to certain key skills, or missions that spur them to improve on skills they don't normally use.
Beyond that, they could get a reward like a skill fusion that can fuse two or more compatible skills together, or a training function that helps them train new skills learned without being interrupted by anything or anyone.
These were just some of the ideas Christopher had for the adaptability factor. He intended to have it be far more complicated than that. After all, his system explicitly stated that it adapted to how he grew stronger and the path he was taking, that's why it only usually gave him information relevant to him at the time.
There were many other things he wanted to add, like a party system that allowed his subordinates to team up and complete missions together, a sparring system that takes two or more of them to a separate space to fight, a shop system that allows them to exchange for items, as well as a trading system them to buy or swap things with one another.
'On that note, a dungeon system would also be cool, I mean, I can already create miniature spaces in this place, and with my increased level of Dimensional Management, I can take it a step further. Maybe I can set different-level dungeons and stuff. As for where to put them, I don't mind placing them on the moon, that would give them a reason to visit it. Hm.' Suddenly, Christopher found himself with a lot to do, and he kinda liked it.
'First. Let's create the base model of the system.' Christopher thought. At first, he just wanted to be lazy and make it so that everyone's system had the same format as his, but he wasn't that incompetent, so after some brainstorming with the System, he eventually saw a format he liked.
[Status Panel]
Name
Race
Titles (earned through feats)
Rank
Core Attributes:
Strength
Endurance
Agility
Intelligence
Willpower
Unlike his System, Christopher wanted his subordinates to be able to visibly quantify their stats and not just guess their levels. There was no specific reason, he just wanted their system to be different from his in that regard.
As for the titles, as it said, they could be earned through feats, and these titles gave legitimate enhancements. For instance, if someone slays a large number of a specific type of creature on their own, they'd get the title 'XXX Slayer' that would give them a Stat bonus in killing those types of creatures. Or if they did something like overcome a situation that was way beyond their level, they'd get a title like 'Unyielding', which grants them a massive Stat boost when in a situation beyond their level.
In short, there were numerous possibilities for the titles, but again, Christopher had no intentions of creating all the titles himself and would leave them to the systems his people used since that would still fall under the whole 'adaptability' idea and the systems would issue titles when seen necessary.
As for the Willpower Stat, this was there to show how much resistance one had to things like mental attacks, manipulation, and so on. Christopher briefly wondered how high one's willpower would need to be to resist the effects of his mask, but he went back to Overviewing things after.
[Skills Panel]
Active Skills
Passive Skills
Innate Abilities (racial/bloodline traits)
System Blessings (things granted by Christopher or the Expanse)
This was fairly simple to understand. The active skills were skills that required energy to use and had a limited duration. Passive skills didn't need energy to activate and were on indefinitely. Innate abilities were things that came from one's lineage, bloodline, etc.
For instance, Dragon scales were naturally resistant to elemental attacks (which doesn't affect Christopher all that much since his control over the elements far out scales whatever resistances they might have), so a dragon would most likely see [Elemental Resistance] under that column.
Then there were the system blessing. These were different from the titles and their effects simply because they were granted by Christopher and not the system. For example, a previous example given to hammer on the titles was how possibly overcoming an overwhelming situation could grant one an 'Unyielding' title.
But if Christopher gave a blessing personally, he could grant something like 'Undefeatable' which actively amps someone the stronger their opponent.
This was very possible since Christopher could quite literally set the rules with his authority. This would be one of the few things in his subordinates systems that he could grant his input directly and not just leave it to the systems.
[Paths Panel] (Empty for now)
Option to Select a Path when ready
Path Examples: Warrior Path, Mystic Path, Sovereign Path, Dimensional Traveler, Dreamweaver, Arbiter-in-Training, etc.
This was a bit more vague, and this depended solely on the systems as well as the person using them. As they progressed up the path of power, different paths would open up based on their actions and preferences.
[Achievements Panel]
Track achievements or milestones.
May unlock hidden perks or special paths based on achievements.
Again, this would be up to the system. But this is also where things got interesting.
In short, Christopher wanted the paths that could be available to depend on the system and the person, but he wanted to take it a step further and introduce the 'Records' System which tied into the Achievements panel.
Basically, whenever his subordinates did something significant to their level, it would be saved in their records. If they had weak records, then the available paths, while still the best possible options for them in that moment, would still only be mediocre like their records.
However, if they went above and beyond and performed incredible feats, their records would be filled with such incredible achievements, and when the time came to choose their paths, their options would be a lot more... delicious, so to speak.
This would act as another incentive for his subordinates and make them do their best instead of settling for doing average.
[Energy Panel]
Shows:
Personal Energy (mana, void, etc)
Connection to the Primordial Expanse.
The connection to the Primordial Expanse might seem redundant at first, but Christopher wanted to implement something. He wanted to place more restrictions on how much energy his subordinates could draw from the Primordial Expanse. Now, did this mean he was limiting how much they could draw? Not quite, they could still draw as much as they wanted.
However, what he intended with this was to have the quality of energy they could draw reduce or inc43ase based on their connection. After alm, there were places within the Primordial Expanse that had higher and lower concentrations of the different kinds of energy. It's not like before being assimilated, their concentration was exactly the same, so why would it suddenly be after being enhanced?
As for how they could increase their connection, this also depended on their records. The more impressive feats they accomplished and the better records they racked up, the higher the quality of energy they could draw from the Primordial expanse.
To be honest, Christopher kinda felt like doing this wasn't necessary since even the lowest concentration of energy in the Primordial Expanse was numerous times more pure and concentrated that what one could find outside, but he just wanted it in place to give his people another reason to improve.
'And Who knows? Maybe someone will find a way to increase the effectiveness of energy on all levels.' He thought with a smirk.
What do you think?
