Chapter 464 Morrigan, the Goddess of the End
The dragon's deafening roar cut through the battlefield like a wave of destruction, the distant mountains trembling under the sheer power of Mary Rose. The air thickened with the malevolent energy she emanated, her titanic form filling the horizon as her wings blocked the golden rays that Strelitzia had brought. Yet Dante stood firm, unmoving, his posture now marked by a silence heavy with intent. The sarcasm had vanished from his face, replaced by something more solid, more terrifying: a cold and unshakable determination.
"Enough," he said, his voice slicing through the chaos like a sharp blade. Dante stepped forward, each movement reverberating with a power that seemed to bend reality around him. He turned to his wives, his features softening just enough to reveal a hint of affection.
"Return to the Tenth Floor," he ordered, his voice firm but respectful. "This battle is mine. You've done enough. Protect each other there. I'll handle this."
The women hesitated for a moment, especially Valentina, whose demonic aura pulsed with the desire to fight by his side. But it was Sara who stepped forward, her eyes locking onto Dante's with understanding and concern. "Don't overdo it, my love. You know what you're facing."
Dante offered her a faint, almost tender smile before raising his hand and opening a crimson portal with a simple gesture. Hell's energy emanated from the portal, pulsing like a living heart. One by one, his wives stepped through, each leaving behind glances heavy with emotion. Valentina was the last, casting Dante a long, deep look before disappearing into the scarlet glow.
'She's mad... fufufu.' When the portal closed, Dante slowly turned back to Mary Rose, now without distractions.
"Ah..." He exhaled heavily, as if finally shedding the weight of concern for the people he loved. Now, it was just him and the dragon.
"Mary Rose," he called, his voice sharp and dripping with deadly intent. "The time has come. Let's finish this—bow, kill yourself, or whatever. I don't have time for this."
The dragon tilted her colossal head, her eyes gleaming with a mix of fury and excitement. "Finally decided to drop the jokes, little demon?" she mocked, her voice rumbling like thunder. "I'll kill you; don't even think of running."
Dante didn't reply with words.
'What a drag.' He simply raised his right hand, and a pulsating black energy began to gather around him. His body was engulfed in crimson flames, interwoven with dense shadows that danced like serpents under his command. When he opened his eyes again, they shone with a power that rivaled Hell itself.
Mary Rose didn't wait for an invitation. With a bestial roar, she took flight, her wings slicing through the air like blades. She surged toward Dante, her mouth opening to unleash a stream of black fire that consumed everything in its path. But Dante didn't move. He raised a hand, and an invisible barrier formed before him, absorbing the fire as if it were nothing.
"You'll have to do better than that," he said, his voice dripping with disdain.
Before Mary Rose could react, Dante vanished from where he stood. He reappeared above her in an instant, striking with an energy so powerful that the air around them exploded in a shockwave. The dragon was hurled to the ground, creating a massive crater upon impact.
Mary Rose roared in frustration, struggling to her feet. Her scales gleamed with a sinister light, an aura of absolute destruction surrounding her. She charged at Dante again, her attacks coming in a furious succession of claws, tail strikes, and energy blasts.
Dante danced between her strikes, every movement perfectly calculated. He countered with lethal precision, every punch and kick charged with an energy that seemed to tear the very fabric of reality. The two clashed repeatedly, each collision sending waves of destruction that turned the battlefield into a wasteland of ruins.
"Is this what you call absolute power?" Dante taunted, dodging another strike and landing a devastating kick to Mary Rose's chest, forcing her back with a roar of pain. "You're nothing but a shadow of something great. A failed attempt at being a goddess."
The dragon roared again, but this time there was something else in its sound: desperation. Mary Rose realized that despite her size and power, she was being outmatched by a smaller but infinitely more dangerous enemy. She retreated, gathering her energy for one final, desperate attack.
"Shut up!" she screamed, her voice filled with rage and fear. "I am the end of everything! I am destruction incarnate! YOU CANNOT DEFEAT ME!"@@novelbin@@
Dante smirked, a cold and merciless smile. He raised his hands, and a gigantic magic circle appeared in the air above him, pulsating with an energy that made the world around them tremble.
"Mary Rose," he said calmly, his voice brimming with authority. "Ah… you remind me of Ethan… so pathetic… honestly." Explore more adventures at My Virtual Library Empire
With a final gesture, he unleashed the spell. A collision of light and darkness engulfed Mary Rose, consuming her in a storm of energy so powerful that the sky itself was torn asunder. When the light finally faded, all that remained was Dante, standing still, watching as the colossal body of the dragon Mary Rose crashed to the devastated battlefield with a resounding thud. Dust rose in dense clouds, obscuring the view for a brief moment. He let out a deep sigh, his voice laced with exhaustion and disdain.
"What a waste of time," he muttered, his hands relaxing at his sides. His eyes gleamed with a cold, calculating light, though something about him seemed uneasy. Something was wrong.
Suddenly, the silence was shattered by a sound that seemed to come from the depths of the earth itself. A raspy, distorted laughter echoed, reverberating across the battlefield. The fallen dragon's body began to glow with an intense purple light, and the ground beneath it started to crack as though consumed by a destructive energy.
Dante frowned, his instincts screaming danger. He stepped back, his aura expanding in response. "So, it's not over yet… Mary Rose, what are you up to now?"
The dragon's body disintegrated into fragments of black and gold light, as if torn apart by invisible forces. In place of the massive reptilian carcass, a figure began to emerge. It was a woman of overwhelming and terrifying beauty, with a presence that seemed to crush reality itself.
'As I expected, she failed to truly become a dragon,' Dante thought.
Her skin was as pale as the moon, and her hair flowed like a cascade of starlit darkness, shimmering with collapsing constellations. Her eyes, now glowing like infinite wells of energy, locked onto Dante with a mix of triumph and restrained fury. A pair of immense wings, formed from pure energy, unfurled behind her, each feather radiating an aura of impending destruction.
"You… will pay for this humiliation." Her voice echoed, a blend of hypnotic melody and oppressive power. "Now… now I am the end of everything."
Dante watched in silence, his face serious and his stance firm. He could feel the magnitude of her power, an experienced fusion of the essence of Tiamat and Fenrir that she had stolen, channeled to create something far more terrifying than he had imagined.
"Mary Rose…" he murmured, his eyes narrowing. "Or should I call you something else now?"
She smiled faintly, but it was cold, devoid of humanity. "I have transcended my mortal form, Dante. I am no longer Mary Rose. Now, I am Morrigan, the Goddess of the End."
Dante held his composure, but he internally felt the weight of her presence. He knew he was no longer dealing with an ordinary enemy. Morrigan was the personification of the end, fueled by the energy of Tiamat, the Primordial of Dragons, and Fenrir, the Wolf of Ragnarök.
"Interesting," he replied, his voice low but laced with determination. "But being the 'end' means nothing to me. I've seen the end of many things, Morrigan. And I always come back to start anew."
'Though I have a feeling this is going to be tricky...'
Morrigan extended a delicate hand, and the world around them began to distort. The earth crumbled into ashes, the sky fractured like glass, and a dense darkness started to envelop the battlefield. "You are bold, Dante. But boldness alone won't be enough against impending death."
With a single gesture, Morrigan unleashed a wave of black energy that tore through the air, surging toward Dante with incomprehensible speed. He raised his hand, conjuring a shield of infernal energy that collided with the attack, creating an explosion that lit up the battlefield with blinding lights.
Dante slid backward from the impact but remained standing. His stance was controlled, the gleam in his eyes revealing that he was ready for this fight.
"So, you want to dance, goddess? Let's see if the end is truly as absolute as you claim."
"I'm going to kill you, you inferior being." She said looking even more nervously at Dante who just smiled and took Rebellion in one of his hands.
What do you think?
