My Blood Legacy: Reincarnated as a Vampire

Chapter 497: Two drunk angels

The glasses rise in a toast, and the golden liquid with an iridescent sheen slides down their throats. The taste is exotic, with a sweet and spicy mix that warms gently and seems to spread through the body, inviting relaxation. Unlike anything they've experienced before, the effect is immediate, and as the heat rises, a smile forms on everyone's faces.

Raphael leaned against the drinks stand, his eyes shining with satisfaction, watching Dante and Velryna settle down and take their first sip. "See? It's not so bad, is it?" she commented with a tone of satisfaction.

"Not bad," Dante replied, taking a second sip with a curious smile. "I'd say it tastes... nice." Dante never drank many drinks, so anything was new!

Velryna, now more relaxed, allowed herself a light laugh. "I thought angels were more... discreet about their drinks. That's surprising." She looked at Raphael. "You have good taste, despite your origins."

Raphael grimaced, clearly enjoying the joke. "Yeah, well, Mom always says we have refined taste," she said, shrugging. "But every now and then, we need something simple... We're not all made up of duties and responsibilities, are we?"

Uriel was more hesitant at first, holding his cup delicately and watching the others with an attentive eye. But the smoothness of the drink and the way everyone around her was beginning to relax helped ease the tension in her body. She took a sip, almost without meaning to, and a feeling of warmth spread through her, as if the gears of her mind, which had always been working at a thousand miles an hour, were slowly starting to slow down. She looked at Raphael with a wider smile.

"You're right," Uriel said, his words coming out more slowly than usual. "É... different. But in a good way."

Raphael laughed softly, watching Uriel's face soften as she began to feel the effects of the drink. "I knew you'd like it. This is just a taste of what humans have to offer." She took a larger sip from her cup, glancing at Dante and Velryna. "Who knows what else you might discover."

The atmosphere around them was becoming more vibrant, with the sound of laughter and music echoing through the brightly lit stalls. Away from the responsibilities and expectations of the worlds they lived in, it was as if the weight of their origins had been left behind, at least for the night.

As more drinks were consumed, the energy in the group changed, the atmosphere becoming more relaxed and loose. Raphael was starting to joke around more, his lively and irreverent demeanor contrasting with his usual seriousness. "I never imagined that the human world was so... fun," she said, with a lightness in her voice that indicated how much the drink was starting to take effect. "I mean, our mother always told us to focus on what matters... but, you see, what really matters is... well, enjoying the moment!"

Dante, who was clearly more relaxed now, leaned back in his chair and smiled at the lightness he saw in Uriel's sister. "You're right, Raphael. Sometimes stopping to just... be here is what really matters." He paused and looked at Velryna, who was standing next to him, smiling. "To be in the present."

Raphael, his face more animated now, winked at him and grimaced. "Um... I don't think you've understood the real meaning of enjoying life until now." She looked at Uriel, who was starting to smile too, his posture more relaxed. "Come on, Uriel, you don't have to be so serious all the time. Relax a bit, life is too short to always look like you're about to start a heavenly mission!"

Uriel, his cheeks now slightly flushed from the drink, laughed shyly, but it was clear that the effort to loosen up was still there. "I'm not that... serious," she replied, her voice a little softer. "It's just... that I've never had much time for it."

Raphael let out a laugh. "Life isn't just about missions, darling. It's about laughing, dancing and... I don't know, doing things like this." She took a long sip of her drink, already feeling looser, and, with a quick gesture, took Uriel's arm and pulled her closer to Dante and Velryna. "Let's enjoy it while we're here."

Uriel was now beginning to relax, although still a little awkwardly. She exchanged a glance with Velryna and Dante, smiling shyly. "All right, let's give it a try," she said, still getting used to the idea of playing and allowing herself to experience the lightness of a human moment.

Raphael smiled with a mischievous glint in his eyes and, on an impulse, stood up and pulled Uriel by the hand. "Who cares about obligations? Let's dance!" She looked at Dante and Velryna. "You two are more the sit-down type, aren't you? Let's see if we can get these two serious people to loosen up!" She started dragging Uriel to a livelier area of the festival, where people were dancing and having fun to the sound of upbeat music.

Uriel, now more relaxed but still shy, followed without resisting. "You're forcing me into this..." she began, but her voice was full of amusement.

Dante and Velryna looked at each other, smiling at the scene before them. The two sisters were finally letting themselves be carried away by the energy of the moment, and the lightness of that festival was seeping into the depths of their responsibilities.

"I think they're beginning to understand what it means to have fun," Velryna commented softly, her voice full of affection.

Dante shrugged and laughed softly. "Yeah, I guess so. Life has to have balance, right? And today, we're all trying to find that balance."

The festival continued its lively celebration, with the lights twinkling and the music echoing in the distance. Raphael and Uriel were now completely immersed in the fun, the drinks flowing like never before in their lives. The effect of the magical and exotic cups, so potent and mysterious, was already beginning to be felt, and their behavior was becoming increasingly relaxed and chaotic.

Raphael was in a playful and irreverent mood, her movements looser and more animated, but with each sip she seemed to sink deeper into the fun. "I never thought this would be so much fun!" she shouted to no one in particular, laughing loudly and drawing the attention of passers-by. She waved her empty cup around as if it were a magic wand and jumped from side to side, almost tripping several times. "Come on! Let's do something crazy!"

Uriel, on the other hand, was calmer, but her hands were already shakier and her steps more unsteady. She tried to keep her composure, but the frequent giggles and the silly grin on her face didn't come naturally to her, and her stiff, serious posture seemed to have been forgotten at that moment. When she raised her glass for the third time to drink, she almost knocked it over. "I don't... I'm not good at this," she muttered, looking down at her drink with a confused expression. "I... I just wanted to understand... what makes people do this..."

Raphael approached her with a broad smile and twinkling eyes. "Ah, Uriel, you're finally relaxing! This is so much fun! Come on, let's have another round!" She took a step back and almost tripped, but recovered quickly, laughing as if it were the funniest thing in the world.

Velryna and Dante, watching from afar, exchanged worried glances. They had seen the two sisters loosening up more than usual, but the situation was starting to get a little more worrying. The laughter had given way to uncontrolled, uncoordinated giggles, with Raphael falling several times in the middle of the dance, while Uriel tried to walk, but his balance was visibly compromised.

"I think they overdid it," Velryna commented with an amused but concerned expression. "Should we help?"

Dante, who was equally enjoying the lightness of the moment, still looked in good shape. "Yes, they're a bit... out of control." He let out a sigh, watching as Raphael tumbled to the side again, while Uriel seemed unable to stand for more than a few seconds.

Raphael, his eyes watering with amusement and his face flushed, saw Dante and Velryna approaching and raised his hands in a dramatic gesture, as if he were on a stage. "Oh dear, don't look at me like that. I just wanted... a bit of fun, I'm not a child!" She shook her head back and forth, trying to stand, but her legs were visibly shaking. "I... I can't... spin... "

"Raphael, I think you need a break," Velryna said, approaching him and putting her hand on his shoulder. "It's okay, but I think we should take you somewhere quieter."

"I... I can't!" Raphael protested with a silly smile, but the words came out jumbled, and she seemed on the verge of fainting. "I'm... a warrior!" She leaned on Velryna, trying to steady herself, but instead ended up falling into the arms of Dante's wife, who supported her with ease.

Uriel, who was standing next to her, looked completely out of it, with his eyes half-closed and a mischievous smile on his face. She tried to take a step towards Raphael, but her leg gave way and she fell beside her sister. "I... I think... I think I've had too much to drink," she said, with a sleepy and slightly confused expression, resting her head on the nearest bench, clearly in shock at what had just happened. "I... I wasn't ready."

Dante, who was already approaching the two sisters, quickly crouched down beside Uriel, holding his hand tightly. "Hey, are you okay?" He asked, observing the visibly altered state of both angels. His voice was gentle, but his concern was evident. "It's not good to go overboard with this sort of thing."

Raphael, his forehead now resting on Velryna's shoulder, was still trying to smile, but his words came out garbled. "Sorry... I didn't mean to... cause trouble... just... fun..." She groaned, trying to rise, but her strength failed her and she let herself fall back into Velryna's arms. "I... I... I'll be fine..."

"Yes, of course you will," Velryna replied, with a gentle smile, but her eyes were full of worry. She looked at Dante, who was helping Uriel to his feet. "It looks like they really need help."

"Yes, it seems they have... different limits to us," Dante said with a faint smile, helping Uriel to sit down. He glanced at Raphael, who was now more relaxed, but clearly still dizzy and struggling to keep her eyes open. "Raphael, maybe you should get some rest. We'll take care of you."

Raphael mumbled something inaudible, but his eyelids were heavy and his eyes were slowly closing, without the strength to argue. Velryna helped adjust her position, making her sit more comfortably.

"I think we need to take them somewhere quieter," Velryna suggested. "We can't leave them like this, they're about to pass out."

Dante agreed, leaning over to help Uriel to his feet. "Yes, let's take them to a hotel..."
