Chapter 267: Rewards

After clearing the grueling dungeon and defeating the guardian within, Leon and the others stood at the heart of the glowing treasure vault. Golden light shimmered from crystalline pedestals, each holding a different reward—potent relics, refined cores, and stones that pulsed with immense power.

"The rewards are fresh," Naval commented, eyes scanning the contents of a stone tablet as a pedestal opened beside her.

Leon stepped forward and picked up a violet-hued stone, its surface etched with intricate runes that pulsed like a living heartbeat.

"Skill Rank-Up Stone," he muttered. "It can raise any skill by one tier... from Epic to Unique, Unique to Legendary."

"That's rare," Roselia said, brushing her hair back as she picked one up herself. "Could take years to earn something like this normally."

Millim was already grinning, her eyes practically sparkling. "Jackpot~!"

Leon glanced at the stone in his hand, then casually tossed it to Millim. "I don't need it. My skills are already too broken."

He turned and offered another to Roselia. "Here. Use it well."

"You're really just giving these away?" Roselia raised an eyebrow, catching it midair.

Leon blinked at the barrage of system messages flooding his vision.

[ Congratulations, Host, on achieving a new milestone. ]

[ Rebate: 80 Skill Rank-Up Stones Returned. ]

[ Skill Rebate has increased to Level 5. ]

[ Rebate now gives 50 times both in Quality and Quantity ]

[ New System Function Unlocked: Fusion ]

He narrowed his eyes as the text continued to unfold like divine prophecy.

[ Fusion — Host can now combine or merge materials, skills, abilities, or even living beings to create superior forms or entirely new entities. ]

[ Restriction: Fusion only applies to what the Host owns. Ownership must be complete and undisputed. ]

[ There is no limit to what can be fused, even Living things can be fused and greter life form or entilrey new Forms ]

[ The Chances of Chimera forming are high if there is not much compatibility between species that are fusing together ]

"…Huh," Leon muttered, voice flat.

Roselia, sharp as ever, caught the subtle shift. "Hmm? Did something happen?" she asked, tilting her head slightly, a spark of concern hidden beneath her casual tone.

Leon shook his head with a calm smile. "Just a minor thought. Nothing important."

None of them knew about his System—and Leon intended to keep it that way. Not because he didn't trust them, but because the power it offered was beyond comprehension, and far too dangerous if it ever fell into the wrong hands. Even those closest to him didn't need to know... not yet.

But this new function—Fusion—was intriguing.

Later that night, once they'd set up camp and the others were either resting or scouting, Leon slipped away from the warmth of the fire and opened his inventory. Thanks to the Infinite Storage granted by the system, his inventory was a small dimension on its own—an endless vault where time did not pass. And over time, it had become a graveyard of items. Artifacts, weapons, skill crystals, armor, books—some he collected, some duplicated via rewards, and others were rebate items he had no current use for.

He often donated the Unique-grade items and below to the orphanage back in his world. But Legendary and above? Those stayed with him. Especially the rare and powerful ones.

[ Opening Fusion Interface... ]

[ Scanning inventory… Multiple duplicate Legendary weapons detected. Fusion suggestion ready. ]

[ Weapon: Twin Serpent Blades (x3) – Legendary Grade ]

→ A pair of curved daggers that channels poison and wind magic.

[ Fusion Options: ]

– Merge 3x Twin Serpent Blades

→ Potential Outcome: Mythical-grade weapon – "Serpentwind Fangblade"

→ Traits: Bleeds through dimensions, causes stacking venom debuffs, can slash intangible enemies.

Leon's eyes narrowed as he confirmed.

[ Fusion Initiated. Processing… Complete. ]

[ You have obtained: Serpentwind Fangblade – Mythical ]

[ Passive Effect: "Toxic Spiral" – Applies venom that intensifies per hit. Active Skill: "Void Venom Burst" – Temporarily breaks enemy defenses and slows time around the target. ]

Leon exhaled softly, testing the balance of the new blade as it materialized in his hand. Light, sharp… and utterly deadly.

[ Would you like to try fusing Skills next? ]

He considered it. The Fusion system didn't just apply to weapons. He could fuse two or more skills he'd mastered—and maybe even refine flawed ones.

He navigated through his massive list of abilities until two caught his eye:

Shadow Blink (Rare) – short-range teleport with a brief invisibility.

Void Step (Epic) – teleportation with phase-pass ability through physical barriers.

[ Fusion Possibility: High Quality ]

→ Fusion Result: "Dimensional Ghoststep" – Legendary

Description: Combines teleportation, phasing, and stealth. Grants two-step dash through reality folds, ignoring space and time anchors.

Leon tapped confirm.

[ Fusion Success. You have learned: Dimensional Ghoststep – Legendary ]

"Hmm, these are great," Leon mumbled, inspecting the newly fused Mythical dagger in his hand. The weight was perfect, the edge shimmered with dark venomous light, and the passive power coursing through it felt like an extension of his will.

Before he could admire it longer, something soft and small collided with his back.

"Papa! What are you doing?" came a cheerful, high-pitched voice, filled with innocence.

Leon blinked, half-turning as a pair of tiny arms wrapped tightly around his waist. From the shimmer of a portal behind him, Aqua peeked out with her bright eyes sparkling, clinging to him with a big grin on her face.

"Aqua…?" Leon murmured, raising an eyebrow. "How did you get out—wait, don't tell me."

She looked up, proud and smug. "I have the Rift Control, remember?" she beamed, showing off the sparkling, miniature Rift Sigil Crown nestled like a tiara in her silvery-blue hair. "You gave it to me when I beat everyone in hide-and-seek! So now the whole Rift is my place!"

Leon rubbed his temple and sighed with a small smile. "Right. The bet…"

After ascending to a higher rank in the Tower, Leon had started gifting more permissions to his summoned companions—especially in the safe zones. The Rift, a pocket realm connected to him now has wholy turned into his pet who is more like an Daughter to him Aqua raiden a Mythical naga, and others pet home, each of them has buil a leevl accoding to tehr need,
