Chapter 223: Going to School! (3)
As Zoro’s eyes adjusted to the darkness- He spotted a pink-haired girl bouncing wildly around the space.
“Hehe…! Hitting people is… just so much fun!” “B-Boss, help! Please have mercy!” “I can’t see anything!”
A child who hadn’t even started school yet had taken down four underlings without Molumolu’s help. How was such a thing even possible in this world?
‘These can’t be normal kids! Are they some kind of geniuses?’
Swoosh— Zoro pulled a weapon from his waist. It was a net.
Fwip— When he threw it, the net wrapped tightly around the rampaging pink-haired girl. This wasn’t just any net, it was woven from jungle wolf spider silk that constricted tighter the more its target struggled.
“Ugh!”
The pink-haired girl lay frustrated on the ground. Watching her, Zoro breathed a sigh of relief.
“Finally, it’s over.”
As he said this, his eyes fixed on the pretty blonde girl. He’d worried she might go wild like the pink-haired one, but fortunately that hadn’t happened.‘Maybe the blonde one is just a normal noble child.’
Just as he caught his breath thinking that- Cecily let out a whistle.
Then strange presences began emanating from the cave as the darkness started writhing and moving.
‘No, this isn’t darkness! They’re rats! Cave rats swarming in!’
Squeak— Squeak—Screech—
Zoro was startled by the countless cave rats pouring in. He could barely process what was happening.
“Get away! Stay back!”
While Zoro was frantically waving his arms trying to drive away the rats, the pink-haired girl managed to escape the net with their help. The situation had become dire in multiple ways.
“A-Am I, Zoro, being defeated by two little girls!?”
Zoro was so frustrated and angry that his lower abdomen trembled and his face burned hot. His limbs shook so violently that it took real effort just to stand.
“To think I’d be beaten by mere children…!”
Zoro’s voice of frustration echoed through the cave. In response, the pink-haired girl Hina declared:
“If Naru was here… you wouldn’t even have time to feel frustrated… We are 「Erinyes」. The Sisters of Vengeance…!” “…Erinyes?”
Zoro had heard that name before. It referred to three women known for being terrifyingly cruel yet beautiful. According to legend they were called the three dark princesses, so it felt strange hearing these girls claim that title.
“…Could you three sisters be the daughters of Judas?”
Zoro had heard the stories. Rumors circulated that 6 years ago in Freesia, there lived a man known as the King of Thieves. But those were just tales. Unbelievable boasts about a mere thief who single-handedly wiped out bandit groups, defeated demon lords, and eventually ascended to godhood.
“It’s all lies. Those are nothing but lies. There’s no way they could be true.”
Tsk— The blonde girl clicked her tongue.
“That’s right. They are lies. Because we aren’t three sisters.” “What? What do you─”
Only then did Zoro notice someone behind him. A girl holding a magical light orb in her hand. She looked about 12 years old. Yet she was already more strikingly beautiful than any woman Zoro had ever seen. As he muttered “What is this─” in disbelief, Tywin whispered:
“Sleep-“
Sleep. A hypnotic magic that puts the target to sleep. It was also the first magic Tywin had mastered through daily practice putting the three sisters down for naps.
“Ah… no…”
Though Zoro fought against his drooping eyelids, he soon collapsed to the ground.
Snore— Zoro finally fell into deep slumber. Looking down coldly at the man, Tywin spoke:
“Girls, what were you thinking disappearing like that? And you shouldn’t fight adults recklessly. It’s dangerous.”
Of course, she held back mentioning that it wasn’t the children who were in danger, but the adults. Soon Tywin noticed Naru’s absence.
“Where’s Naru?” “…I sent her away on purpose.”
Hina pointed to the narrow passage in the cave. It seemed Naru had gone beyond that passage.
“Well, if Naru was here this wouldn’t have ended so peacefully. But Molumolu should have been with you, so how did this happen?”
Tywin looked at Molumolu crouching at Hina’s feet. Hina’s Molumolu was trembling.
Cecily explained.
“It started acting strange after seeing that black crystal. They called it a fragment of Nocturne?” “Crystal? A fragment of Nocturne?”
Nocturne. Tywin frowned at the fact that such an ominous name still lingered in this world. She took the crystal from the fallen Zoro’s hand.
“No… don’t… my… treasure…”
Even while asleep, the man clutched the crystal tightly to prevent its theft. It was a moment that revealed just how obsessed he was with this object.
Swish— When Tywin held the crystal, it felt surprisingly warm despite its ominous appearance. She could also sense an unusual magical power.
“This is…?”
Tywin was taken aback slightly. This crystal was indeed a fragment of Nocturne. But more precisely, it was a fragment of ‘memory’. Looking closely at the black crystal, she could make out hazy scenery reflected within. An old, dilapidated house. A place from Tywin’s memories.
━I know you’re an astrologer, but don’t go to 61st Street from now on. It’s probably going to be turned upside down today. Honestly, it’s not a place for kids to wander around. An accident’s bound to happen someday. 1
A voice from memory echoed forth. A voice that had shown concern for Tywin.
“This is Judas’s… father’s memory.”
Tywin recalled meeting Judas at 61st Street. Though that memory remained vivid for her, Judas had forgotten parts of it. While Tywin found that quite regrettable, she didn’t show it. What might be a life-changing moment for someone could be just another passing day for another, easily forgotten.
“…It wasn’t forgotten, but lost.”
Suddenly Tywin remembered how Judas had lost everything to defeat the false god. Those lost things included precious memories and recollections.
‘I thought he had regained most memories. But father’s memories are still scattered around the world like this. I never knew since I’ve never left Freesia.’
Swish— Tywin carefully tucked the black crystal into her pocket.
‘I wonder how many more of these exist in the world? I want to collect them all.’
That’s when it happened. Rustle— Naru crawled back out from the passage.
“Naru, how was it? Are you alright?”
Tywin asked. In response, Naru trembled violently like she’d been bitten by mosquitoes all over, then blushed angrily.
“Ugh, Naru was tricked! There’s no treasure in there! Just weird books and keys! Naru just got her clothes dirty crawling around for nothing!” “……”

Tywin handed over the captured 「Dawn Corps」 bandits to the Junk Manor. Sifnoi became furious at the sight of these dark men and shook her round fists.
“─Nymph Style, Beat them up!”@@novelbin@@
Thwack— Thwack— Thwack— Thwack— Thwack— It was quite violent. Though nymphs appear gentle, they have a tendency to violently beat opponents who are either evil or weaker than them.
“How dare you try to steal Sifnoi’s treasure, unforgivable… Taste Sifnoi’s honey fists filled with rage…!” “Argh!” “Ack!”
They say villains beaten by nymphs this way have their hearts purified and successfully rehabilitate into society, but Tywin wasn’t convinced that was true. What mattered was that Tywin had obtained the black crystal.
“Um… this…”
Tywin pulled the crystal from her pocket and held it out to Judas. After receiving it, Judas made a short “Ah” sound then crushed the crystal in his fist.
Hiss— The shattered crystal turned to black powder and was absorbed into Judas’s body.
“Now I remember. Tywin, your room was incredibly messy back then. It looked like you never cleaned at all. Come to think of it, you’re surprisingly bad at organizing things? Even your current room─” “T-That’s not true.”
Tywin blushed and quickly turned her head away. Judas ruffled Tywin’s hair playfully.
“But they’re precious memories. Thanks for returning them. I still have memories scattered around the world that I couldn’t collect because I had to return in such a hurry back then.”
“……” “……” “……”
Pat— Pat— Pat— Pat— Pat— Naru, Cecily and Hina watched with slightly envious eyes as Judas continued patting Tywin’s head. Tywin received praise from her father Judas daily, but today the praise was especially intense.
Soon Naru shouted.
“Wow, holy shh! Naru will find those black crystals and return them to Dad too!” “My goodness, to lose and forget items everywhere. As Cecily’s father you must not do such undignified things! I, Cecily, shall specially find and return them!” “…Treasure hunt!”
Treasure hunt. When Hina threw her hands up excitedly, Cecily’s forehead twitched. Something seemed about to surface in her mind at the words ‘treasure hunt’ but didn’t quite emerge.
Clap— That’s when Tywin clapped her hands.
“No time for squabbling everyone. We only have 20 minutes until the entrance exam. If we run quickly from this mansion to the exam site it’ll take 15 minutes…”
Just as she was thinking she needed to get the children there without being late- Judas wrapped his arms around Tywin, Naru, Cecily and Hina all at once.
“I’ll take you there.” “But it’s against the rules for parents to enter school grounds with children during the entrance exam?”
When Tywin asked with slight confusion. Judas flashed his white fangs in a smile.
“I was never one to follow rules anyway.”
