Zhou Peng’s face changed color several times. “Hongxing, how could you become so disgusting? You weren’t like this before!”

“People change. Since you think I’m disgusting, you should know that there’s nothing disgraceful I wouldn’t do.” Su Hongxing stood and scoffed. “Mr. Zhou, don’t bother coming around anymore. You’re not a savior, and I am beyond redemption. You can’t even save your own precious daughter, so how can you possibly guide me onto the right path?”

“Nonsense!” Zhou Peng snorted coldly. He walked to the door, but turned back to look at Su Hongxing. “You’re becoming more and more like your mother, discontented at home. Your mother’s end will be your end too. Take care of yourself!”

“Don’t bother, Mr. Zhou. I will live better than anyone else, including Mr. Zhou and Zhou Luhe. Oh, and give Zhou Luhe a message. If she managed to steal Xiao Ji from me back then, I can certainly give her a taste of what it feels like to be abandoned.”

Word quickly reached Ye Qilan that Zhou Peng had visited Su Hongxing.

Ye Qilan was in a meeting. He gestured for a temporary halt and left the conference room to find Age. “It seems like Zhou Peng, having spent many years as an official, thinks he’s very idle. Send him a gift and make sure it reaches him personally.”

Age knew what this “gift” was. It was information discovered by Ye Qilan a year prior. Sending it to Zhou Peng now was a perfect way to show him his true colors.

No sooner had Su Hongxing seen off Zhou Peng than two women arrived. One was Zhou Luhe, the other was Cao Shiyu.

Cao Shiyu came to support Zhou Luhe, but was also here to see Su Hongxing in her shabby state.
