Chapter 293: S2 Monaco Grand Prix. 13
[ACTIVATE SYNC BUFF?]
[Y / N]
Luca selected Yes.
[System Notice: Host has (1) Catalyst available. Proceed with Sync Buff activation?]
A sudden realization hit him.
"Ohhhh!" Luca had completely forgotten about the Catalyst the system had rewarded him earlier for beating its pit stop entry and exit time prediction.
If the system hadn't reminded him, the Catalyst would have been wasted since the system had clearly stated that both Catalysts and Wrenches expire upon any Sync Buff activation.
"Thanks for the reminder," he muttered, quickly considering how best to use it.
It had been an unexpected reward, and his focus had been locked on filling up the Sync Bar, so he hadn't given it much thought until now.
After a moment of consideration, he made his decision.
"Apply it to Corner Chopping. Let's push it to (16)—it's next in line for completion," Luca said.

"Good. Now, let's proceed."

Luca prepared to speak and make his decision, only to pause as the system continued processing.

Luca was taken aback by how much the Sync Buff Activation Grid had expanded. It was noticeably larger, covering more parameters than before.
He realized something was different the moment the system continued listing stats just as he was about to speak. The changes weren't subtle. This was a major upgrade!
Previously, Sync Buff had only enhanced his personal attributes and racing skills, but now, it was affecting the car's performance and even the engine's core features.
This wasn't something Luca had expected. Curious, he questioned the system, and its response clarified everything:
[Affirmative. Sync Buff now spans the entire matrix. The feature is designed to temporarily enhance all relevant stats. The current expansion aligns with that purpose since host has Professional Bundle's features.]
No matter how the system chose to explain it, in essence, Sync Buff had evolved into something far greater now.
It was no longer just a personal enhancement but a complete synchronization of man, machine... and engine!
For the duration of its activation, Luca wouldn't just be at his peak but the car would be at its peak too. Every single component from front wing to rear wing would function at its absolute best.
Not to talk about how this would technically change his Ferrari Turbo-Hybrid 056 to an S-level engine for 4 minutes.
"Ah, this is incredible!" Luca beamed. "Scratch what I said. Sync Buff was never nerfed, it was just regulated!"
[Please select three Skills for Sync Buff]
Luca quickly refocused. This was his first Sync Buff in F1, and every selection mattered. He needed to be smart and make important boosts.
For his first choice, he selected Night Mastery. The night was only getting darker, the city lights brighter. And with the car enhancements pushing his speed higher, everything could become a blur.
If his vision wasn't sharp enough, his own buff could lead him into a crash.
For his second selection, he chose Side-by-Side King. He predicted that Ignatova and Moireach wouldn't easily surrender their positions, and in close battles, he needed to dominate duels with 300% efficiency.
The final choice was a skipper, but Luca eventually picked Slipstream Mastery.
Though he'd recently completed it at (20), he wanted to push it to (50), ensuring he could latch onto slipstreams faster, build stronger momentum, and use them to gain maximum speed and make overtakes effortless.

[INFUSION SUCCESSFUL!]
[You have 4 min. 10 sec left for Sync Buff]
The moment Sync Buff fully activated, the Ferrari Turbo-Hybrid 056 responded first.
A blue essence suddenly ignited deep within the engine's core. It was an explosive pulse that vibrated with energy around the fuel injectors like electrical veins before shooting through the high-pressure fuel pump in a flash.
The combustion chambers shuddered to the havoc unfolding within that the only energy that pulsed outward was heat.
However, the engine's Heat Management at (50) now quickly acted and ensured cooling. But the effects were already being carried out at the innards of the chambers.
The blue blur moved like an unleashed storm from the power unit to all systems, cycling excess energy at an exponential rate that it caused the car to tremble for a second.
The tremble wasn't even an effect, but a process of its own, serving as the connection whereby Luca received the pulse from his gloves whilst he gripped the wheel.
[49th Lap]
"...WE ARE IN THE FINAL STRETCH! JUST 11 LAPS REMAIN IN THE MONACO GRAND PRIX...!"
"...A TESTAMENT TO IGNATOVA'S DOMINANT LEAD, HE VISITS THE PITS AND REJOINS—STILL IN P1! UNBELIEVABLE...!"
"WOOOOOOOOOOOHH!"
"...BUT ONLY A SECOND AHEAD OF AILBEART MOIREACH NOW! IT'LL BE VERY DIFFICULT FOR HIM TO DEFEND! BUT AT LEAST, HE'S MADE HIS LAST PIT OF THE RACE. IGNATOVA HAS THE ADVANTAGE NOW, BUT HIS LEAD IS CURRENTLY CHALLENGED...!"
00— Marko Ignatova ←
P2— Ailbeart Moireach
P3— Marcellus Rodnick
Whether it was Marko Ignatova or Ailbeart Moireach leading the race, it didn't matter anymore to Luca.
None of their top chassis or powerful engines could square with him now.
At this moment, his vision in Circuit de l'Étoile was as clear as day, and he could even see Ignatova in his Mercedes struggling with cold tires while Ailbeart pestered for an overtake.
At this stage of overpoweringness, Luca began to fear for his rivals.
For Rodnick especially, who was going to be his first victim tonight.
He had already closed the gap with blistering speed, and Rodnick was stunned to receive an arrow alert out of nowhere.
"...LOOK AT THAT SPEED FROM LUCA RENNICK...!"
Mr. Marchetti brought out his timer and race tablet analyzer again.
What do you think?
