Chapter 520: Chapter 360 Domain of Death_2
A startling chill instantly transmitted through his mental energy, as if he had suddenly entered the icy waters of Severe Winter.
The Apostle Necromancer reached the edge of the black mist, where the black and white mists blended together, creating a blurred demarcation line.
A large area of Fenglu Mountain was encircled by the black mist, and even the shadows of the trees were now indistinct, adding to the eerie atmosphere.
Rustle, rustle, rustle
Sounds of friction came from within the black mist as numerous pale-skinned monsters shakily emerged.
Their bodies shook, rotting flesh hung from what were once strong torsos, with unidentified fluid dripping down. At places where the flesh had decayed, even the bones inside were visible.
“Roar”
The monsters emitted a low, roaring growl, charging toward the Corpse Witch, their bodies enveloped in a thick aura of death.
‘Putrid corpses’
Upon seeing this, Li Wenyuan was mentally stirred and, using the body of the Corpse Witch, launched an attack.
Psychokinetic power swept out, flipping the flesh-corpses, crawlers, and other monsters within the putrid corpses, slamming them heavily to the ground.
Putrid corpses are undead monsters infected and then transformed into the Undead Race; their bodies rot but do not die. Although they are not very strong, they are troublesome.
‘These putrid corpses seem even tougher.’
Li Wenyuan immediately noticed the differences in these putrid corpses; the surrounding black mist subtly entered their bodies, strengthening them with psychic energy.
The controlled Corpse Witch’s gaze swept over the crowd of putrid corpses, a snapping sound echoing as most of their heads were broken, leaving only about twenty stronger putrid corpses.
Black energy suddenly surged on the Corpse Witch, congealing into strands that intertwined with the mental energy, then injected into these putrid corpses.
The bodies violently trembled and then lost their will, slowly rising to stand guard around the Corpse Witch, becoming the undead under his control.
This was an ability of the Corpse Witch, and also one of Li Wenyuan’s reliances for exploring this black mist area.
Paved by the putrid corpses, the Apostle Necromancer stepped into the range of the black mist.
A sense of death, accompanied by the black mist, surged into the body of the Corpse Witch. Even with just a psychic connection, Li Wenyuan could feel the strength of this force growing as the Apostle Necromancer drew in more psychic energy, his body being fortified.
‘Is this frost?’
He extended his psychic exploration outward; the ground around him and the dried trees were covered in a thin layer of hazy frost, and the chill emanated from this frost.
Crack
The sound of frost being trampled echoed. From within the mist, various undead stood out, Skeleton Warriors and Skeleton Beasts prominently among them. Their stark white bones bore traces of blue, starkly different from those he had previously encountered.
‘This number is a bit much.’
A glance revealed hundreds of Skeleton Warriors and Skeleton Beasts, and that was just the perimeter.
Without the slightest hesitation, he immediately commanded the Corpse Witch and the surrounding putrid corpses to attack the Skeleton Warriors.
Defeat, control… and then rapidly explore deeper into the mist.
Entering this black mist area, completely silent exploration was impossible; therefore, he wanted to explore the interior as much as possible.
Li Wenyuan continuously controlled emerging undead. By now, almost three to four hundred monsters had gathered around the Corpse Witch, with no shortage of Second Order Undead, and Third Order Skeleton Beasts and Blade Skeletons among them.
However, the deeper he went, the more intense the aura of death became, and the ground had already congealed into a thick layer of ice spikes, faintly releasing a black color.
The Corpse Witch had reached a valley, over which spread eerie, black, solid ice covering the entire valley.
“Stop, puppet of a human.”
Strong psychic fluctuations came from the end of the valley. As Li Wenyuan controlled the Corpse Witch attempting to cross the valley, he did not expect to encounter an undead draped in ice armor, with a single eye and four arms, standing at the valley’s end.
‘Fourth Order!’
Li Wenyuan instantly judged the strength of the undead before him. Behind this undead, many others with icy blue skin and fierce faces stood out, occupying the valley.
“What are you doing here?”
Since he was blocked, Li Wenyuan decided to speak up, staring at the creature before him.
“Merely a puppet!”
The One-eyed Ice Ghost did not respond to Li Wenyuan’s question but charged forward, launching a powerful punch.
Li Wenyuan fully engaged the psychic perception of the Corpse Witch, immediately capturing this action and raising the Corpse Witch’s arm.
Black energy emitted from the dry arm, as a large amount of psychokinetic power surged out, forming a shield in front of him.
“Boom”
The punch from the One-eyed Ice Ghost landed on the shield, the cold invading and a strong impact immediately erupting.
The Corpse Witch, being controlled by Li Wenyuan as an Apostle, was also not low in strength and did not falter in form.
The explosion of psychokinetic power directly sent it flying, and then he immediately issued orders.
The controlled undead erupted, roaring as they charged at the group of Ice Ghosts.
In the narrow valley, a fierce battle immediately erupted.
“Ignorant of death!”
The One-eyed Ice Ghost stood up, ice armor fragments sliding off, its eyes emitting a faint blue light, and then ice spikes appeared behind it, constantly attacking the Corpse Witch.
Li Wenyuan controlled the Corpse Witch to dodge continuously, retaliating with psychokinetic power, but his heart sank as this One-eyed Ice Ghost was more formidable than he had imagined.
They were both Fourth Order in strength, yet it seemed to be closer to Fourth Order Superior in strength.
Flee!
Li Wenyuan realized he could not continue any longer and a mental shock burst forth, colliding with the ice spikes.
What do you think?
