My Monster Fuses Everything

Chapter 522: 361: Battle of the Domain of Death

Chapter 522: Chapter 361: Battle of the Domain of Death

An immense horde of undead monsters surged out from the Fenglu Mountain ranges, and before the Fenglu Base could fully retract its defensive fortifications, they had already stormed into the battlefield.

This was a group of formidable monsters engulfed in the aura of death. Although they were also primarily composed of First Rank and Second Order rotting corpses, skeletons, and Skeleton Beasts, the unique atmosphere of the Domain of Death and the icy ghost aura fused with their bodies made them even more powerful.

The troops of Fenglu Base, battle-hardened, quickly responded to the sudden encounter, unleashing a barrage of intense gunfire to halt the assault of the undead horde.

The heavy artillery tore through the bodies of rotting corpses and skeletons, and even the tougher ones struggled to withstand such firepower.

However, the situation rapidly changed when High Order undead joined the battlefield, and their heavy weaponry’s attacks began to be intercepted using various methods.

A squad of ice ghosts with gray-blue skin and bright blue eyes moved on all fours, charging into the battlefield like beasts.

...

They were not overly large in stature, somewhat smaller than the rotting corpses.

But it was their arrival that caused walls of ice to rise on the battlefield; skeletons donned frosty armor, fending off the artillery’s onslaught.

The Day Patrol God and Night Patrol God joined the battle, charging straight for these ice ghosts, but One-eyed Ice Ghosts and Ridged Bone Ice Ghosts, these Fourth Order ice ghosts, also entered the fight.

The combat grew more intense, and the casualties began incrementally to rise.

Above the battlefield, the power of emotions and the scent of death were converging toward the Domain of Death. The black mist was slowly spreading.

“Bang!”

The Red-patterned Corpse Ghost clashed fiercely with a One-eyed Ice Ghost, unleashing a terrifying force with each punch that was even more dreadful than standard artillery shells.

Xia Yunqing, wielding a long saber, charged with his two Angel Envoys into the horde of the undead, fiercely battling the Fourth Order monsters.

Though he had breached Fourth Grade, his time there was still short. Of the four Angel Envoys, only the newly contracted Red-patterned Corpse Ghost and his first Angel Envoy, the Ghost-Faced Tyrant, possessed Fourth Order strength, showing his limitations.

If it were not for the Mechanical Giant Spirit God, Zhong Kui, and the Day and Night Patrol God aiding each other, the Fenglu troops would likely have struggled to withstand the attack of the Undead Race.

The fierce battle lasted for half a day. When the black mist surged, the undead seemed to receive a summoning, and only then did they slowly retreat.

Xia Yunqing was gasping for breath. His back was covered with wounds of varying sizes. Although not grievously injured, the pain of the fine ice crystals and deathly aura that lingered on his wounds was not any less than torture.

He glanced over the chaotic battlefield—there were not a few casualties among the Armed Forces soldiers. Even with covering fire, no one could say there was a lack of injuries once the true melee began.

Men would die, envoys too.

‘The commander’s injury…’

Xia Yunqing’s brow furrowed. He called for his deputy, hurriedly instructing, “Clean up the battlefield, be alert of the undead’s movements. I need to return first.”

“Understood.”

The deputy nodded in response, immediately proceeding to make arrangements, while Xia Yunqing, without rest, set off back to Fenglu Base.

He knew all too well the importance of Li Wenyuan. To Fenglu Base, Li Wenyuan was not only the strongest combatant but also the spiritual pillar of all the survivors.

He rushed back to Fenglu City and immediately headed to the location of the Star Torch Tree. Li Wenyuan was there, stabilizing his mental trauma; his complexion finally did not look as pale as before.

Long Xingyuan stood by his side, holding several empty medicinal vials—he had already used them all.

“Try using two more vials of mental medicine extracted from the Soul-Capturing Beast to see if we can recover some more…”

Li Wenyuan waved his hand, surrounded by the mental energy of the Star Torch Tree, and shook his head: “No need.”

He looked toward Xia Yunqing with a worried expression in his eyes: “The undead have retreated?”

“They have, but not because we beat them back.”

Xia Yunqing’s expression was grim. He knew best the nature of the battle outside the city and while they indeed held off the Fourth Order undead, the more formidable ones were still to come.

“You should rest for a while, as the undead will likely continue their attacks; they’re treating us like livestock, fenced in.”

Li Wenyuan instructed Xia Yunqing to rest. Since the Undead Race had Fifth Order beings, even though they had a large number of nuclear and hydrogen bombs to defend, it would definitely not be enough to deter a Fifth Order.

The only explanation was that they wanted to keep fighting, to plunder more Emotional Energy, to supply energy to the black mist.

Xia Yunqing didn’t rest. After seeing Li Wenyuan controlling his injuries, he immediately returned to the front line.

Just as Li Wenyuan and others had anticipated, it took only half a day for the undead to launch another assault.

An army of rotting corpses, exuding rolling deathly aura, rushed into the fray, forcing the Armed Forces into combat, with Fourth Order monsters striking again; Xia Yunqing, without time to rest, immediately faced the enemy.

Li Wenyuan climbed upon the ramparts, watching the undead tide flood in. With a thought, his remaining three Angel Envoys appeared on the battlefield.

Veins on his forehead bulged, and he broke out in fine sweat. Having lost one envoy and still suffering from mental trauma, he barely managed to maintain control.

To continue summoning the envoys for battle, one could only imagine the pain he had to endure.

“Are you crazy?”

Long Xingyuan tried to stop him, but Li Wenyuan raised a hand to halt what he was about to say: “There are more undead underground.”

As soon as he spoke, a loud rumble resonated, and the ground cracked like an earthquake, tearing open huge fissures, as two colossal Ice Skeleton Generals burst forth from below.

With frost congealing on their bones and blades in hand, they fiercely stabbed at Xia Yunqing.
