Chapter 601 03-25 - 399: The One-Eyed Knight
Chapter 601: Chapter 399: The One-Eyed Knight
Zhu Xiong was riding the Yaksha Flying Dragon, whose Fourth Grade flying speed was very fast; it didn’t take long before they were approaching Bay Town.
At that time, Bay Town was still shrouded in a thin layer of fog, making distant objects unclear, but Zhu Xiong had already sensed something wrong and his expression slightly changed.
‘The smell of blood is strong.’
He signaled the Yaksha Flying Dragon to approach the ground, where the remnants of torn limbs were scattered everywhere, including leg joints and shell fragments littered around the shore.
“Hiss”
The Yaksha Flying Dragon below made a hissing sound, and Zhang Di, on another Flying Dragon Insect, showed a slight change in expression, “Leader, this is not our swarm.”
...
From the remains alone, it was hard to distinguish between the Abyssal Insect Race and the Angel Envoy, but to the swarm, whether they were the same species was almost perceptible upon approach.
Zhu Xiong’s expression immediately became solemn, “Those things have already reached the shore? Let’s go…”
Before he could finish speaking, a powerful psychic fluctuation had already pierced through the fog, dispersing the already faint mist.
Over the open sea, the rooftops of more than a dozen tall buildings emerged lonely from the water like islands, while the Abyssal Insect Race surged in the water. Astoundingly, on the rooftop-like isolated islands, three human figures were fighting against the swarm.
Masses of insects surged out of the water, thousands charging at the three men, continuously climbing onto the rooftop, their sharp mouthparts and leg scythes constantly attacking them.
However, these three men were surprisingly devoid of panic; their skin slightly darkened, and then their large hands moved swiftly to attack the sharp leg scythes.

In between each clash, the leg scythes were indeed broken off by them.
Despite continuous attacks by the swarm, the three men were engulfed in the insects, but merely using their physical defense already rendered most of the insects helpless.
Occasionally, under the attack of a Third Order Holy Helmet Beetle, their skin was torn but healed at a visibly quick rate.
“Survivors?”
Zhang Di noticed something amiss by now, and Zhu Xiong’s expression was grave as he said, “Be careful.”
All three men appeared normal, the lead man being a burly, crew-cut guy standing nearly two meters tall, resembling a solid tower.
The remaining two also had sturdy builds, both short-haired, tall men in their early twenties.
But the more they appeared thus, the more Zhu Xiong sensed something was off, not the wildness of their fighting style, but the psychic energy they emitted during the battle gave him a familiar yet strange feeling—the Fallen.
The Fallen had always existed, during the recapture of cities, in the process of clearing monsters from the wilderness, the Pioneer Troops had eradicated countless Fallen groups.
Even today, albeit in the Tree Domain Territory, there were still extremists among the population who quietly moved towards corruption and acted covertly.
The primary task of the City Defense Legion, aside from maintaining urban order, was suppression, cleaning up any possible Fallen.
Zhu Xiong was all too familiar with them, mutated and thus more monstrous but also stronger.
In these three men who continuously tore apart the limbs of the swarm, he sensed this familiar aura and felt a threat.
“Let’s hide for now.”
There was still a certain distance between the two groups, and the thin mist had not dispersed, so the trio engaged in battle might not have noticed Zhu Xiong and his group.
The Locust Bat Insects scattered, covering Zhu Xiong, Zhang Di, and a scouting team that quietly hid at the edge of a rooftop position.
In this sea area, because of the lingering effects swirling, slamming against the walls of buildings, deep, dark, yet no trace of Fishmen could be seen anymore.
The swarm had probably occupied this region for some time.
Zhu Xiong’s gaze firmly locked onto the three men, when suddenly a strong presence rose from the sea, and a massive creature abruptly appeared on the surface.
“Fifth-Order!”
Zhu Xiong’s expression grew solemn, recognizing the terrifying insect, the Void Giant Insect, a Fifth-Order unit among the Abyssal Insect Race.
“Boom”
As soon as the Void Giant Insect appeared, psychic energy surged, mixed with spatial power to form a purple energy ball, rushing directly towards the three men.
The size of this purple energy ball, even larger than the rooftop, was so massive that as soon as it approached, the powerful energy caused the rooftop to crumble to pieces, emitting a loud cracking sound.
Zhu Xiong was about to withdraw; the appearance of this Fifth-Order unit had already secured the victory, and even his current campaign had to change plans now, at least removing the danger.
“Zhang Di, we…”
Boom
A terrifying explosion erupted, the shockwave almost lifting all the fog, and amidst the dazzling and powerful light, stood a knight all in black, his left hand a gun.
The Black Armor knight was covered in a black substance that churned like flesh; his entire form leaped up, the black material instantly solidifying into rigid armor.
Bang
A huge insect limb carrying massive psychic energy attacked him, but the Black Armor knight did not dodge. He retracted his left arm, half his body coiling up with power, then focused psychic energy and struck a punch at the gigantic insect limb.
Psychic energy burst forth rapidly, blowing the several-meter-long immense insect limb into a rain of blood, dripping down across the sea area.
Zhu Xiong’s expression changed seeing this; the knight covered in Black Armor, his face completely obscured, and at the position of his chest, a giant eye stared menacingly at the Void Giant Insect.
What do you think?
