Chapter 30 - 30 30 Shes Young
Chapter 30: Chapter 30: She’s Young Chapter 30: Chapter 30: She’s Young Zhou Shuyan, a man of discerning taste, was willing to marry someone.
What kind of fairy must she be?
Zhou Shuyan never allowed him to follow him back to the village, claiming his demeanor made it obvious he wasn’t an ordinary person and could arouse suspicion at the village entrance.
Qi Sishenn thought this made sense, so they always met up in the town instead.
But now, he really wanted to see Hexing Village for himself.
What kind of magical place could it be to make Zhou Shuyan marry!
Zhou Shuyan: “…”
“Wait, is she from the village or the town?” Aside from these locations, Qi Sishenn couldn’t think of other possibilities.
Yet even mentioning these places made his teeth ache.
Even if she were from the town, the place wasn’t big!
No one across the whole country could make Zhou Shuyan marry, but someone in this small place could?
Even now, Qi Sishenn felt like it was all a dream, too surreal to be true.
“No need for so many questions,” Zhou Shuyan really didn’t feel like explaining to Qi Sishenn.
Moreover, according to Lu Youxi’s plan, they were supposed to get divorced after moving to the Imperial Capital.
Although Lu Youxi’s proposal was quite tempting to him.
Zhou Xueyi would be thrilled if he knew he brought back a village girl who’d never entered a city, and she was his wife.
At least he wouldn’t worry about using arranged marriages to expand his influence, causing greater pressure on Zhou Xueyi.
This would undoubtedly make Zhou Xueyi lower his guard and even underestimate him and Lu Youxi.
But then, Lu Youxi was not someone to be underestimated.
Underestimating her and Youxi would only lead to losses.
That was the main reason he agreed to Lu Youxi’s proposal at first.
However, upon further thought, he was reluctant to involve Lu Youxi.
Lu Youxi was smart, but she was just an ordinary girl. She deserved a normal and stable life.
Not to be entangled in a bunch of family messes.
He believed that with Lu Youxi’s capabilities, she could definitely keep up with his pace.
She might not know yet, but she could learn quickly.
Although she had never been exposed to his circle, she would manage quite well once she saw it.
But if she could have a more relaxed life, why make her part of all that trouble?
So, after thinking it through, Zhou Shuyan changed his mind.
But since he had already promised Lu Youxi, he’d still marry her, help her through her difficulties, and consider it a repayment for saving him.
Originally, he should repay her anyway.
“Send your household registration book today, so I can receive it tomorrow,” Zhou Shuyan instructed Qi Sishenn.
“Wow, you’re in such a hurry to marry?” Qi Sishenn was even more shocked, “It seems you really like this future bride.”
Pausing, Qi Sishenn cryptically added, “Zhou Shuyan, if you’ve been kidnapped or threatened, send me a Morse code message.”
Zhou Shuyan: “…”
“Stop joking and just send me the household registration book,” Zhou Shuyan rarely was at a loss for words with Qi Sishenn.
It had been a while, and Qi Sishenn’s imagination had grown richer.
“You can’t blame me for being shocked. You’ve been out of touch for a long time, and now suddenly come telling me you want to marry. Considering all the talented, beautiful, virtuous girls in Hua Country, you didn’t fancy any, yet after living in the village for a while, you’re ready to marry. You haven’t fallen into some human trafficking ring, have you? Is Hexing Village actually a hidden den of traffickers? If so, I’ll help you alert the authorities, just give me a sign by saying ‘okay’, and I’ll know.”
Zhou Shuyan: “…”
“Quit it, if I were really being held against my will, could I still go into town to meet you, or manage affairs from the Imperial Capital?” Zhou Shuyan replied, resigned.
Qi Sishenn: “That makes sense.”
“Send me your household registration book today,” Zhou Shuyan could only keep reminding him.
“No way, it’s the important Zhou Family household registration book; how could I trust it with courier?” Qi Sishenn stood up, “I’ll deliver it personally.”
Zhou Shuyan: “…”
It wasn’t about trusting the courier; he suspected this guy was just curious about Lu Youxi.
“I’ll buy an airplane ticket right now and can be in Tai Town by tonight,” Qi Sishenn, holding his phone, navigated to a ticket purchasing website. Managing this task had always been something Qi Sishenn undertook personally to prevent any leak.
He could trust his own assistant but not the tactics of Zhou Xueyi.
A lapse at any stage would be problematic.
Handling it himself was the safest option.
Qi Sishenn chose a flight and after placing the order, he told Zhou Shuyan, “I should arrive in Tai Town between 5:30 and 6 PM, then I’ll contact you with the specific time.”
Zhou Shuyan: “…”
That should be fine.
Qi Sishenn insisted on personal delivery, which would also let him receive the household registration book earlier to repay Lu Youxi and resolve her urgent issue, lifting a weight off his heart.
When Qi Sishenn called again, it was half-past four in the afternoon.
“I’ve just left the airport, will head to the town in a bit,” Qi Sishenn said over the phone, “should arrive around 5:40, still at the same place we met last time.”
“Okay,” Zhou Shuyan nodded.
“Hey, bring your fiancée along,” Qi Sishenn rushed his words before Zhou Shuyan could hang up.
Zhou Shuyan: “…”
“What’s there to see?” Zhou Shuyan retorted.
“You’re about to get married and you won’t even show your fiancée to your best friend?” Qi Sishenn raised an eyebrow, “Something fishy here.”
To be honest, just mentioning the word ‘fiancée’ made Qi Sishenn’s teeth ache.
Regardless of whether she came from Hexing Village or Hetai Town, imagining her as Zhou Shuyan’s fiancée was really hard for Qi Sishenn.
Although they would divorce later, Zhou Shuyan didn’t plan to let Lu Youxi be the subject of gossip.
Moreover, since they were going to divorce, why involve Lu Youxi at all?
“She’s young,” Zhou Shuyan stated flatly, “It’s too early now; maybe later.”
Qi Sishenn couldn’t help but hiss. Zhou Shuyan was really serious.
After hanging up, Zhou Shuyan also started preparing to head to the town.
Hetai Town was close to Hexing Village, but due to infrequent buses, the next one was at five o’clock.
Worried about missing it, as buses weren’t very punctual, he decided to head to the nearby bus stop earlier to wait.
When he arrived at the small restaurant in Hetai Town where he and Qi Sishenn had agreed to meet, it was just 5:30 PM.
Actually ten minutes earlier than the time Qi Sishenn had mentioned on the phone.
But by the time Zhou Shuyan arrived, Qi Sishenn was already there waiting.
What do you think?
