Chapter 413: Preparation
Aur sensed his Mental Space in amazement; he was really doing it. The Rat King was in his Mental Space, completely trapped, with his life and death in Aur's hands.
"I wonder if I can do this too to..." This thought sent excitement coursing through his body.
It is said that nature always leaves a way for survival. No matter how slim the chances, there will always be that slither of opportunity to endure, however slight it may be. There will always be a way.
And if there wasn't a way, Aur would carve a path himself.
He casually waved his hand, and the Rat King appeared in front of him once again.
"Rat King, it seems you have progressed a lot, huh..." Aur stated casually.
"Yes, Master. I have done my best to follow your instructions, providing him with the best resources to cultivate. His Mental Space was half broken, but I was able to repair it with those resources." Stella spoke at the side.
"Good." Aur nodded, satisfied. Fixing a Mental Space wasn't difficult; it simply came at a high cost. As long as one was wealthy, it could be done with relative ease.
Thanks to this inheritance world, Aur was indeed a wealthy individual. His fortune exceeded that of a Tier Seven wizard and might even rival that of Tier Eight wizards.
After all, this was the inheritance of a sect that had once included multiple Tier Eight wizards. Though much of the resources had been depleted over time, an immense amount of wealth remained.
Not to mention, some of the resources within the inheritance ground had become nearly extinct in the outside world. If Aur was to sell these rare items, he would amass an unimaginably vast fortune.
However, with wealth came scrutiny. Just by entering this place, he had already attracted the attention of multiple Tier Seven wizards and faced the risk of his entire world being exposed.
If a Tier Eight wizard took an interest in him, the consequences would be even more dire.
Tier Eight wizards were the absolute pinnacle of power in the world; no one surpassed them. As for Tier Nine, no one had reached that level since the time of the Human Emperor.
The power of a Tier Eight wizard was something Aur couldn't even fathom; they were simply beyond his imagination.
"Sigh, I haven't even reached Tier Seven yet," Aur muttered with a weary look on his face.
What he wanted was time—time to grow stronger and at least reach Tier Seven—but he had never gotten the chance for a peaceful seclusion.
Progressing from Tier Four was an incredibly laborious process, no matter how many resources he had.
To advance, he not only had to strengthen his cells again, but also expand his image to almost four times his size. Reaching Tier Six was even more challenging, as it required merging the six-fold image he had cultivated directly into his body.
Tier Seven was even more complex and labouring. Every cell in his body had to be fully strengthened, and then came the most intricate step: the union of body and soul within those enhanced cells. Only after completing this would his image open up an inner world inside him.
The power system was similar to that of the wizards, yet different at the same time. For wizards, as long as they had a high-grade talent, reaching Tier Seven was relatively easy compared to the Body Tier.
In contrast, those in the Body Tier endured excruciating pain with each advancement, a trial that tested their sanity at every step. Even with natural talent, there were no exceptions to this pain. However, Body Tiers did have one advantage—anyone could learn it, sure they needed resources but the entry level wasn't that high and the most important factor was their own will.
Wizards, on the other hand, require a sufficiently large Mental Space just to begin and unless talented, they will be stuck for eternity.
Countless thoughts flashed through Aur's mind as he contemplated.
"Um, Master?" Stella called out.
"Yes?" Aur looked at her.
"I can give the Rat King a special demonic spell capable of harming those even in higher Tiers, but it's a Demonic spell and will harm him as well. Should I proceed?"
"Do it," Aur replied casually.
Liam's face twisted in horror. With a screech, he attempted to escape, but froze instantly as Aur appeared in front of him.
With a casual flick of his wrist, Aur struck Liam on the head.
Bang!
The Rat King collapsed, fainting on the spot.
"Give me the resources. I'm going to re-cultivate to at least Tier Two again."
"Eh? It won't be of any use if you do that, Master," Stella said, tilting her head in confusion. Against a Tier Seven wizard, Aur's small Mental Space wouldn't carry him far; even if he managed to reach Tier Two, it would be practically useless.
"You wouldn't understand," Aur said, shaking his head. He had no interest in Tier Two wizard power against a Tier Seven; that would be the greatest joke of the century.
What mattered was that with each advancement in his wizard realm, he gained a point to glimpse at the future.
With this, he could plan for what lay ahead. Though the future was ever-changing, this vision would at least provide Aur with a sense of direction and allow him to gather key information.
In War, what was truly important was information and Aur was completely unknown about the energy, he didn't even know how they found out. With that thought, Aur immediately went into seclusion.
With his vast resources, Aur quickly advanced from an early wizard apprentice to mid-level within the first day. However, it took him an entire month to reach high-level and nearly three months to arrive at the peak.
Another three months passed as Aur completely filled his Mental Space in preparation for a breakthrough to Tier One. But he encountered a conundrum—his Mental Space was too thin to gather enough mana to break through the barrier, leaving him completely stuck.
"Oh well, let's see what the future holds with the three minor points I've gained," he murmured.
What do you think?
