Chapter 151: Chapter 150 Real World Competition
In the small villa courtyard, Shao Zifeng and Casar were engaged in a battle.
Bald Strong, wearing a down jacket, had his empty sleeves occasionally blown up by the air currents stirred by the fight, swaying in the slightly cold breeze.
Whoosh!
The Snowy Owl flew midair, slightly tilting its head to watch Xiong San chasing on the ground below, then with a flutter of its wings, it shot up into the sky like a white shadow.
The white figure of the Snowy Owl rose higher and higher, its snow-white feathers blending into the early winter sun against the light.
On the ground, Xiong San gnashed its teeth, its fierce gaze closely following the white figure, but as it merged with the sun, Xiong San, staring directly at the sun, felt a sharp pain in its eyes and subsequently lowered its head to paw at its eyes.
“Eagle Strike!”
“Whoo-whoo!”
The Snowy Owl emitted a cry, as the vanished figure suddenly plunged down at a very high speed, the intense airflow pressing its feathers tightly against its body, and its sharp claws suddenly reached out just before nearing Xiong San, tearing its flesh and bringing up a striking crimson.
“Ow!!”
Under the massive impact, Xiong San let out a childish cry of pain and was knocked flying, its plump body tumbling on the ground like a torn rag doll, continuously smacking and then bouncing high off the ground.
“Xiong San.” Shao Zifeng hurriedly ran to catch the flown Xiong San, the massive impact causing him to reel backward, nearly falling over.
“Whoo-whoo”
The Snowy Owl slowly flapped its wings and landed beside Casar, tilting its head to look at Xiong San cradled in Shao Zifeng’s arms.
Air currents tousled Casar’s curly hair; he maintained his standoffish demeanor, yet his eyes unmistakably revealed his concern.
Casar turned his head with an inquiring look towards Bald Strong, serving as the referee.
“The rule of reality-based combat is to defeat the opposing Combat Training Master; the match has not ended yet.” Bald Strong, looking sternly at Xiong San in Shao Zifeng’s arms, shouted loudly, “Your contractor is now exposed to danger; get up immediately and continue the fight.”
“Ow!” Hearing Bald Strong’s command, Xiong San shook its little head and unsteadily stood up, growling fiercely.
Li Yiming, seeing the situation in the arena, clutched the hem of his thin clothes tightly, his face showing concern.
Bald Strong, seeing Xiong San recovering its fighting spirit, nodded in satisfaction, “The reality-based combat continues.”
“Ow!”
No sooner had Bald Strong spoken than Xiong San moved its limbs and charged towards Casar; Shao Zifeng’s expression changed, “Xiong San, come back.”
But Xiong San, heedless, continued to charge headlong in that direction.
Seeing this, Shao Zifeng had no choice but to quickly follow, trying to not let the distance between him and Xiong San become too great.
“Ow!” Xiong San suddenly leapt high into the air with its limbs, mouth wide open showing its gleaming milk teeth as it lunged directly at Casar.
“Damn!” Shao Zifeng cursed under his breath, seeing this; Xiong San’s disobedience and rash attack left him in a passive situation, now he could only maintain a relatively safe distance.
Casar, seeing Xiong San lunging towards him, first showed some panic in his eyes, then he took a deep breath, “Snow… Ice Protection.”
“Whoo-whoo~”
Upon hearing this, the Snowy Owl flapped its wings and positioned itself in front of Casar, a semi-transparent shield of ice crystals appeared in an instant, with Xiong San’s sharp claws wrapped in white light striking down on the Ice Protection.
Hiss.
The piercing sound accompanied by the ice dust scraped off sparkled magnificently in the early winter sunlight.
Casar estimated the distance between Xiong San and Shao Zifeng and continued, “Snow, Ice…Ice Feather Blade.”
“Whoo~hoo~”
Having heard its master’s command, the golden eyes of the Snowy Owl shone sharply as it flapped its wings. Ice Protection exploded into countless small ice cubes that shot toward Xiong San. The close-range burst caught Xiong San off guard, plastering its face with ice cubes, causing it to close its eyes tightly and howl in discomfort.
Next, the Snowy Owl flapped its wings, circled past Xiong San in a semi-circular trajectory in mid-air, and extended two icy-blue Ice Feather Blades from the tips of its wings toward Shao Zifeng.
Shao Zifeng’s pupils constricted. “Xiong San, use Charge to come back, then jump up for defense,” he commanded.
Xiong San scraped the ice cubes off its face, glanced back at Shao Zifeng, but did not follow his command; instead, it turned and raised its claws, wrapped in white light, at Casar.
Whoosh.
Meanwhile, the Ice Feather Blades at the tips of the Snowy Owl’s wings continued their long trajectory, slashing toward Shao Zifeng.
The sudden turn of events left both Casar and Shao Zifeng staring, wide-eyed and frozen in place, as the attack reflected in their pupils drew ever closer.
Baldy’s face turned pale at the sight, and he quickly yelled at Xiong San, “Stop now!”
At the sound of his master’s voice, Xiong San’s paw halted in place, its sharp claws already piercing a small hole in Casar’s pants.
“Ah!” Just as Casar and Baldy breathed a sigh of relief, Li Yiming, who had been focusing on Shao Zifeng, suddenly exclaimed.
Baldy quickly turned around, only to see the Snowy Owl, unable to retract its move due to the massive inertia, about to cleave Shao Zifeng in two with the icy-blue blade.
Hum.
At that moment, a glimmer shone from the lynx ring on Shao Zifeng’s right hand.
An invisible force field rapidly spread out from Shao Zifeng as its center, melting the long ice feathers on the Snowy Owl’s wings into ice dust within the field, leaving only the pure white Snow Feathers behind.
Although the ice elements attached had been neutralized, the feathers of the Snowy Owl, proud assassin among the mutant creatures, were not something an ordinary person could withstand.
“Don’t!” Li Yiming shouted and broke into a run toward the center of the arena, only to be firmly grasped by a large hand on his arm.
Xiong Er, who had already gotten up as the situation got out of control, began moving its heavy body toward Shao Zifeng. Yet, it couldn’t match the Snowy Owl’s speed.
Time seemed to freeze at that instant, Baldy holding Li Yiming’s arm with a grim look, while Casar stood still with dazed eyes, as if shocked into stupor.
The moment the Snow Feather touched the down jacket, a piercing chill made Shao Zifeng shiver, his body covered in goosebumps.
In the nick of time, a translucent Space Rift abruptly tore open. The ground within the yard undulated like waves, and several giant vines covered in thorns burst through the soil, wrapping around the Snowy Owl’s body with a spray of mud.
The barbs on the vines pierced into its body, and bright red blood instantly stained its snowy feathers red, trickling down along the vines.
“Yooh~”
An ethereal and angry cry ringing in everyone’s ears seemed to restore the flow of time. Everyone only saw several vines wildly dancing in mid-air, flinging the battered Snowy Owl away.
“Tap.”
A slender deer leg stepped out from the rift, making a crisp sound as it touched down on the muddy ground.
The gaze of everyone present was drawn as a graceful and handsome white deer emerged from the Space Rift.
“So beautiful.” Li Yiming murmured as he watched the elegant deer.
Shao Zifeng stared at the deer he had not seen for a long time; his heart pounded violently a few times, his eyes slightly heated, his fingers trembling with excitement.
The deer had grown quite a bit, now standing nearly as tall as Shao Zifeng’s thigh.
Along with a more slender and symmetrical body, two small black antlers had sprouted from the bulges previously on its head.
These unbranched antlers didn’t seem solid; on closer inspection, they seemed to sparkle with starlight, with galaxies swirling within.
What do you think?
