My Pet Beast is Super Fearsome

Chapter 44 - 44 Dragon Wings

Chapter 44: Chapter 44 Dragon Wings

In an unknown space, the sun perpetually hung unchanging at the zenith of the sky, beneath which lay a boundless desert that shone like golden sand under the sunlight, glittering brilliantly. At the very center of the desert stood several black volcanoes, their conical steep bodies covered with dark red magma like veins coursing through them.

With a loud rumble like thunder, the calm of the space was shattered.

The next moment, the entire desert shook violently as the winds whipped up sand into the sky. From the volcano’s crater, ink-black smoke rose, carrying sparks of fire, with occasional lightning flashing through as it collided.

The intense sunlight was obscured by sand and volcanic ash, turning the space as dark as night, where one couldn’t see their own hands, and the rumbling continued. A black volcano, breaking through the sands with its dark red magma veins, rose from the ground, joining the other volcanoes to form a cluster.

In the center of the volcano cluster, the magma in the magma pool churned like ocean waves, slapping against the pillars in the pool. On the platform of one pillar, a Tang sword lay quietly, and at the center, a large red luminous egg began to pulse.

With a “crack”, a fracture appeared on the surface of the luminous egg, shooting out a beam of red light like a sharp sword, piercing the encompassing darkness.

Moments later, the sound of cracking intensified, and beams of red light shot out, painting the entire volcano cluster red.

“Ying~”

A tender hum sounded, and abruptly, the winds, sand, thick smoke, and violent tremors ceased, leaving behind an additional volcano in the center as if nothing had happened.

“Plop”

The cracked luminous egg shed a piece of its shell, which fell on the black volcanic rock, producing a soft sound and dissipating into specks of energy.

A small paw, covered with brownish-red scale armor, reached out from the opening, curiously scratching around, achieving nothing.

“Ying ying!”

“Annoyed!”

Having just woken up, Qiuqiu habitually reached for Shao Zifeng nearby, but grabbed nothing, instantly souring the good mood from waking, and with a flurry of its tiny short claws, it freed itself from the comfortable yet cramped space.

“Ying ying?”

“Where’s the egg?”

Qiuqiu rubbed its blurry eyes, feeling it was easier to reach its eyes than before—previously, one paw could only rub one side, and it took both paws together to feel comfortable. However, before it could contemplate these changes, it began to look for Shao Zifeng.

Suddenly, as if realizing something, Qiuqiu’s cute face looked stricken, and it crossed its tiny paws, sitting cross-legged on the volcanic rock.

That stinky egg, daring to be fierce to me, I won’t look for him, hmph. While thinking this in its heart, its little claws couldn’t help but move, irresistibly drawn to open a space rift.

Angrily slapping its right claw with its left, Qiuqiu’s eyes slightly squinted, casually glancing at the Tang sword beside it.

The tail moved, hooking the Tang sword toward it, holding it in its arms.

“Pshh ~”

“Huh, why did the sword shrink?” Qiuqiu hesitantly looked at the long handle of the Tang sword in its arms, but its little head couldn’t make sense of it.

Forget it, forget it, thinking no more, if the stinky egg doesn’t apologize for a day, I won’t go out… and won’t think for a day!

That’s happily decided!

At that moment, an invisible ripple appeared, spreading around Qiuqiu.

Feeling a familiar presence, Qiuqiu’s heart lifted, its mouth curving up, and its tail, dragging on the ground, couldn’t help swinging left and right, rubbing against the rough volcanic rock.

“Qiuqiu, it looks like it’s time to say goodbye,”

A vision appeared before Qiuqiu, showing the Blood-sucking Tarantula’s cold, gleaming claws thrusting towards Shao Zifeng.

“Ying ying ao!!!”

“Ying ying ao!!!”

Another roar erupted as the two figures and six spiders, either joyous or incredulous, watched the intensifying flames within the space rift. A pair of furious eyes stared fixedly at the Blood-sucking Tarantula.

“Hiss!”

Flames surged as a burning claw emerged, stepping onto a path paved with limestone. The ground seemed unable to bear the high temperature, emitting a puff of white smoke, then, more parts of the body including the head, torso, and long tail appeared from the flames.

Shao Zifeng looked shocked, watching the pet emerging from the flames. His brain momentarily froze. Was this Qiuqiu?

The creature before him, about the size of a small dog, was covered in vicious brownish-red scales. The scale pieces behind its head, clearly more prominent than before, had become sharper, and the bony scales along its body and tail were more pronounced.

Beyond that, the most significant change was its size. Previously, like a typical lizard, Qiuqiu had short limbs and moved with its belly close to the ground. But now, its limbs had noticeably lengthened, its belly had shrunk, and standing on its limbs, it now bore some resemblance to a Western dragon.

Is this… is this evolution? Shao Zifeng felt as if he were struck by a huge surprise, feeling a bit dizzy.

How did getting angry trigger evolution?

Could it be that the secret to the evolution of the armadillo lizard was getting angry?

Thinking this, Shao Zifeng nodded firmly, deciding to try again when Qiuqiu reached the peak of the fourth stage.

Patting himself on the back!

Blue light points flickered and spun in his eyes.

[Name]: Armadillo Dragon Lizard

[Description]: With the activation of Bloodline Ancestor, the arrogant dragon bloodline does not acknowledge the timid and cowardly among its clan. In several battles, gradually recognized by the dragon blood, it could harness some powers of the Dragon Clan after evolving.

Watching the information in front of him, Shao Zifeng felt a surge of ecstasy.

After evolving, its strength had improved by a tier, and the description of its talent had also changed a bit; ‘tiny area’ had become ‘small area’, and it had gained a new ability to recover energy. The skills had been augmented by the addition of Dragon Wings, a skill not typically mastered by ordinary creatures.

“What do I think this is, classmate Shao? This is your pet, huh? It’s actually quite… cute!”

An annoying voice rang out, and Shao Zifeng then realized that the crisis in front of him had not yet been resolved.

Li Hanying, having recovered from his initial shock, stared at this oddly-shaped little creature in front of him and felt a surge of nameless anger. Considering the entrance it made, he had thought it was some famous beast—was he really frightened by such a small creature? Unforgivable!

“Blood-sucking Tarantulas, spread out in formation, and tear it apart for me.” Li Hanying’s twisted face throbbed with veins, clearly wanting to end the fight quickly. He did not have time to waste as another battle awaited him.

“Hiss!”

At the command, the Blood-sucking Tarantulas overcame their fear of flames, collectively moved their eight long legs, lifted their chilling front limbs, and dispersed in a fan shape, encircling Qiuqiu in the middle, ready to strike.

“Ying ying ao!”

Fire flickered between the scales, and Qiuqiu, glaring at these annoying creatures, felt even more furious. It remembered them—they had knocked off its beautiful scales last time. It was very upset; it decided it would burn off their fur to calm itself.

It looked back at Shao Zifeng subconsciously. Hmm… why had the egg gotten smaller? The egg actually shrank because they bullied it! Those brats!! No, burning their fur off wasn’t enough; it had to make them cry!!

Shao Zifeng was somewhat puzzled, as Qiuqiu seemed to be getting angrier, but now wasn’t the time to think more on it.

“Qiuqiu, Flame Control, contract the flames.”

“Ying!”

Qiuqiu nodded lightly, chirped softly, and a strange wave spread, causing the surrounding sea of flames to be drawn quickly towards the center, the sharply elevated temperature making the Blood-sucking Tarantulas even more uncomfortable, shrieking as the thick black hair on their backs curled rapidly, emitting bursts of burnt stench.

“Disperse and cross attack, all use Tearing Claw Strike.” Li Hanying saw the situation worsening, knowing that it wouldn’t work this way. He had initially intended to minimize damage, but hadn’t expected this unseen pet to control the flames.

“Hiss!”

At the command, the tarantula closest to Qiuqiu initiated the attack, pressing its front limbs together, flashing a white light, and shrieking as it lunged at Qiuqiu. @@novelbin@@

“Qiuqiu, seize the moment, dodge to the left, and use Fiery Breath at close range.”

“Ying”

Confidently, Qiuqiu let out a cry, its eyes sparkling with firelight, fixating on the approaching Blood-sucking Tarantula.

With a swooshing sound, the spider’s claw came cutting through the air and just as it was about to hit Qiuqiu, it agilely twisted its body, brushing past the claw.

The huge inertia carried the massive body of the spider, stabbing fiercely into the limestone path where Qiuqiu stood, shattering rocks and sparks flying everywhere.

Seeing the spider’s head so close, a sly look flashed in Qiuqiu’s eyes. It turned its head and a mysterious Array appeared in front of it, then a bursting column of fire shot out, engulfing half of the Blood-sucking Tarantula’s body.

“Hiss!!!”

The gigantic body of the Blood-sucking Tarantula slammed onto the ground, raising a cloud of dust, and its scorched black body twitched unconsciously.

“Qiuqiu, move out of the way!”

As he watched the Blood-sucking Tarantula fall, Qiuqiu felt somewhat proud and was just about to boast to Shao Zifeng when he heard his voice ringing in his ear.

“Clang”

“Ying!”

A pair of spider claws grazed by the side of Qiuqiu’s Scale Armor, Qiuqiu cried out in pain, blood traces following, and flew sideways, not even touching the ground before another pair of claws flashed by, striking Qiuqiu once again.

“Hahaha, right, just like that, finish him off for me.” Li Hanying’s face was pale, his head somewhat dizzy. The death of a pet could cause certain damage to a Combat Training Master, though not severe, but thinking about the confidence he had painstakingly cultivated, his resentment grew even stronger.

“Damn, what to do!” Shao Zifeng watched with heartache as Qiuqiu was struck for the third time, his mind spinning rapidly, contemplating a solution.

“Ying!!”

A pair of spider claws struck from below Qiuqiu, throwing him high, and it wasn’t over yet. The last Blood-sucking Tarantula targeted Qiuqiu in the air, its six long legs powering like springs, rapidly approaching Qiuqiu in midair.

What to do! What to do! The Blood-sucking Tarantula was about to pierce Qiuqiu while the ones below were already gathering strength, preparing for another wave of attacks.

That’s it, use that move!!

“Qiuqiu, adjust your posture in midair, use Dragon Wings!” Shao Zifeng’s mind flashed with an idea when he remembered the skill he had just seen, and he quickly shouted out to Qiuqiu.

“Ying Ying~”

Dizzy, Qiuqiu struggled to adjust his posture; flames ignited in its eyes, a burst of fiery explosion erupted from within, enveloping Qiuqiu in the middle, then a pair of broad Dragon Wings formed on its back.

Narrowly avoiding the Blood-sucking Tarantula’s claws, he dived down a distance.

“Ying ying ao!!”

Holding back a belly full of rage, Qiuqiu roared, flapping the Dragon Wings, his head upward, the wingtips cutting through the air, emitting a sharp Tearing sound, his body wrapped in a long tail flame, like a meteor streaking through the sky, charging towards the Blood-sucking Tarantula in midair.
