--- Chapter 399 ---
Meanwhile, enormous thunderclouds loomed above Paradise, covering the sky with unknown darkness. It has been like this for two years.
At Skypiea, several small-winged people gathered below a temple of god and bowed respectfully.
Gan Fall, also known as the Knight of the Sky, longingly stared at the beautiful statue, meditating deep in the temple. "Your Majesty the Goddess, we have received news from the land below."
"Hmm, didn't I tell you not to bother her with the news of unimportant people?" A lazy, electrifying voice replied.
Gan Fall shivered but hurriedly bowed, "It's related to one of the people you mentioned in the past!"
"Oh?" A massive red dragon covered in thunderous white-purple armor appeared and looked down on Gan Fall.
"Do tell, little bird." A beastly voice asked.Everyone was scared by the massive dragon's sudden appearance but stayed in place. After all, this dragon is the Divine Beast of Skypiea and the protector of this area.
Gan Fall calmed down, "Lord Sonares, I just received news that something happened in the Sabaody."
"The Marines sent three Admirals to retrieve Celestial Dragons from someone."
"Celestial Dragons?" Sonares tilted her head as if she was trying to remember something.
"Those bunch of fakers?"
Gan Fall broke into cold sweats. Around two years ago, some Cipher Pol agents from the World Government came to Paradise and tried to climb the Skypiea. They also brought an arrogant person wearing a bubble helmet who wanted to command Skypiea's people.
Then, a divine revelation happened.
A goddess descended from the sky, wrapped in rich purple armor and riding a red dragon. She looked down on the Cipher Pol agents and the arrogant man before sending them off hell with a slash of her mighty sword.
Yes, one slash. One slash and the frightening line-up vanished from this world. Not even the (former) strongest swordsman has such a power.
In fact, not far away from the temple, the goddess's sword is embedded in one of the floating islands, infusing the surrounding cloud with purple electricity. It is also a form of protection for Skypiea.
At the moment, Skypiea is another haven in the Tiny World, no less than Elwood. Unfortunately, not many people know about this place, and even the group coming with the Celestial Dragon as the front lead was coming here based on ancient records.
Of course, the World Government has wanted to invade Skypie many times, but they have never been successful in doing so all these two years. After all, it shows that the goddess's majesty is not in vain.
"Tell me, what kind of disgusting things those fakers do this time?" asked the armored dragon.
Gan Fall hurriedly lowered his breath and replied, "Yes, my lord. As the Marines sent three Admirals to save the Celestial Dragon, they returned with heavy injury, and one seemed to die in battle."
Sonares frowned slightly and commented, "Even though the Marine is a shabby organization, they aren't weak enough to get an Admiral killed in a mission unless one of the Four Emperors meddles in."
Yes, Marines are World Government's Dogs, but that doesn't mean they are weak, especially the admirals. To kill an admiral means you possess incredible power in this world.
Of course, if Sonares wants, she could decimate the World Government with the fury of a lightning storm. It's just that someone told her not to disturb the world.
Sonares doesn't know the reason, but her owner said this world isn't to be disturbed until "That" person arrives.
Gan Fall nodded solemnly and continued, "You're right, my lord, and I have investigated this matter through a secret channel."
"Apparently, one of the Straw Hat's crew was involved."
"She fought against three admirals and won."
"The Marines tried to hide it, but some people become honest with a stack of money."
"If I remember correctly, they visited Skypiea once before the owner arrived, right?" Sonares recalled some information.
Gan Fall sighed, "Indeed. They saved us from Enel."
Sonares smacked her mouth, "Straw Hat's crew... She? That woman was part of the crew."
"Don't tell me... That person really has arrived."
"Gan Fall, the straw hat's crew, it can't be the Devil Child Nico Robin, right?"
"It is her." Gan Fall replied with a smile.
Sonares was stunned for a moment. Although she was only her owner's contracted soul spirit and rarely went out unless a big fight broke out, she naturally knew some information about the Dragon Nest's members.
Nico Robin was one of the Dragon Nest's members who traveled to this world with her owner!
Sonares's eyes lit up in realization. She looked up and roared excitedly, "Hahaha, that person is finally here!"
Without waiting for Gan Fall and others to react, Sonares's massive body vanished with a boom and entered the divine temple.
Gan Fall was stunned by Sonares's abrupt excitement, "That person? Is this person related to the goddess in some way?"
Meanwhile, Sonares broke into the mirror dimension of the temple and entered a whole other world. If the worshippers outside knew such a world existed in this world, they would be shocked witless.
A deep canyon appeared before Sonares, and deep in the canyon was a battleground surrounded with eerie purple lightning and ancient white pillars, either shattered or lying on the ground as if a great battle just occurred.
On the center of the battlefield is a beautiful woman. She wore a white robe, meditating a few inches above the ground with a plain look on her charming face.
The woman possessed an unperturbed aura. Her black hair swayed gently, and the purple tips shone dimly.
Feeling something approaching the battleground, the woman opened her eyes. She revealed a pair of electric purple eyes with a divine mark on each pupil, which could mesmerize anyone who witnessed them.
"Sonares..."
"What's the matter?"
Sonares shivered because of her owner's cold voice. After all, she knew this beautiful owner didn't like to be disturbed by her usual meditation.
Those divine-marked eyes flickered with divine might no worse than that of a peak 1st-Level God. One could imagine just how powerful this woman was.
Sonares swallowed her saliva hard and replied, "The worshipper outside brought good news this time, owner. The Marines sent the admirals to attack the Sabaody, which involved one of the Dragon Nest's members, Nico Robin."
"Nico Robin..." The woman unconsciously murmured. "It's been a while since I heard that name from someone else."
"After arriving at this world, I have been focusing on condensing my own godhood and meditating in the mirror dimension."
"Thankfully, Master left behind some of his auras in Elwood, which helped me a lot in making my god's core."
"Two years..."
"I didn't expect two years to pass so quickly."
She sighed, "I wonder if he still likes me. I felt like I was becoming more of a monster than a human."
Sonares looked at her owner's state and reassured her, "Don't worry, owner. You're still as beautiful as usual."
"Goddess is an understatement for your appearance."
The woman smiled, "Is that so?"
"You only see my outer appearance, Sonares."
"But inside..."
"I don't think I can hold back anymore..."
At this very moment, a gigantic shadow appeared above the canyon, overshadowing the woman and dragon. Thunderclouds covered the sky and charged everything under it with extreme lightning.
"Liu Mei, it's time for you to DIEEEE!!!" An angry scream echoed in the canyon.
The woman, Liu Mei, smiled, "Just you?"
"Dream on."
Liu Mei stood up slowly and entered her battle form, which caused her body to wrap in armor coated in purple lightning and a massive metallic mechanized arm that held a giant katana.
Twelve spirit rings manifested, flashing with crimson-purple lights.
Sonares roared at the sky, "Sky Devourer! This time, my owner will fry you to ashes!"
"Haha." Liu Mei laughed at Sonares's words.
"YES!"
"Master, I finally can meet you again." Liu Mei couldn't help but tear up, facing the enemy with a melancholic look.
"But first, let's finish this trash first."
What do you think?
