Mom agreed with me on thinking this through and picking based on a variety of factors instead of just the obvious choice of going with whatever matched your element, which wouldn't be a terrible pick by any means but certainly wasn't the smartest one either.

"I think a sure lock for me is to pick the Ice Crystal. They are not only extremely rare and expensive, but it opens a whole avenue for different weapons and armor pieces whenever we get the appropriate materials. However, that is only because of my element being one that is so rare."

I gave Anput a pointed look at that, knowing that I was acting hypocritically here but also understanding that this was an exception to what I was saying, though my mate just shrugged and said "And the same goes for me as well. The Metal Crystal opens up a lot of fun ideas for me, and I've never even heard of one of these being found. So that leaves the two purists to go ahead and pick their own, yeah?"

Instantly she discarded my 'argument' and instead chose as she initially decided, not giving it much more thought and definitely not thinking of profits or anything else; that was what I loved so much about her even if I did want to have a bit more thought go into this, but I suppose that was just how this was going to go anyways.

Better to accept it and admit that she is technically right on that front as well, and me arguing against her is hypocritical and stupid, so instead I looked towards Mom and Leone to continue this discussion.

"I... would think that having something related to Fire Mana would be best for me, so either another Metal Crystal or a Lightning Crystal, but that is only because I know they can be utilized by me in a focus of some kind for future use. It doesn't benefit anyone else and I don't want to sell it, so I would rather keep it for me.

Personally I am leaning towards the Lightning Crystal for more offensive capabilities since upgrading my firepower makes more sense than me upgrading my armor even more. With both you and Jahi guarding me I should be fine, and if something slips past the two of you I would most likely blast it to pieces before any damage is done."

It was another simple and obvious choice, which left Mom's decision for last, the Demoness looking at all of the potent, glowing crystals around her and thinking to herself for a few moments, weighing some various things in her mind.

"I could choose the Lightning Crystal and double up on your reward there, Leone. Give some of it to you since you all would need it more than me, and give some of it to Ria as well for something to help keep her and Julie safe. But..."

Pursing her lips, she stared at the large, emerald green crystal that drifted around her lazily, the unbridled power of nature itself trapped within that faceted chunk of rock catching her eyes and speaking to her about something she had yet to share.

"I cannot help but wonder if this might be of use to the Empress, specifically for Lady Theresa. I know the Empress attempts to purchase any and all available crystals anyways, so having one this pure and powerful might just help get Lady Theresa to a more stable state."

Hearing the name of the wooden Elf stunned me for a moment before I nodded thoughtfully, the kind, motherly woman we had all met for but a few minutes leaving quite the impression on me, especially since she was someone so powerful who had contracted or been cursed with some equally powerful illness.

"If it could be, that would definitely be nice..."

Part of me wanted to tell Mom to be selfish and get what she wanted for herself, but before I could say anything the Demoness just did what all Demonesses do best and just grab that Nature Crystal with a nod to herself, selecting it as her own reward and getting transported out of the trial in another flash of blinding light.

It was just the three of us now, and before reaching out for her own Anput grinned at me and said "It didn't need to be so complicated, my love~! People are gonna want their own stuff that benefits them; Mom Chordeva only chose that because it benefits her in another way~!", making me purse my lips as I stared back at her for a few moments.

"Anyways, hey, now that we're alone for a moment, I just wanna say that I really, really need to breed sometime soon, alright? Being trapped here doing all this work and being so close to you without being able to touch you was torturous... so when we get out..."

Licking her lips, Anput grabbed her Metal Crystal even as her obsidian eyes locked onto mine, my mate making it clear she needed me and making it even clearer that we were going to breed upon our return.

When she departed and it was just Leone and I, the Vampire blushed a little and said "Well... I can't say I'm... willing to enter celibacy for the time being, but um... if I could have some of your blood to help stave everything off, and maybe... y'know..."

Raising a brow, I looked her over and drank in her blushing, squirming state before chuckling and nodding as I said "Of course you can drink from me and have me drink from you~! Are you sure that's all you'll need though~?", which made her blush deepen and caused her to just grab that Lightning Crystal.

With the promise of sex and care for one another waiting for me, I looked towards the other Mana Crystals and admired each of them before turning towards my ethereal blue Ice Crystal and grabbing it, my fingers almost slipping off of its cold, smooth surface as I claimed my reward for this trial.

One reward of many, technically, and that only got me a little more excited for what was to come as the levels rolled in, all of that killing giving me one hell of a boost that I hadn't seen in quite some time, mainly from the hidden training island that Mom took us to.
