Chapter 109 109: Receiving permission for Second Ruins
---
Kent held up the Infernal Crystal, a faint reddish glow pulsing from within. "Oh, more than good. This is an Infernal Crystal. It can be used to forge powerful fire-based weapons or refine abilities for fire users."
Nima whistled, impressed. "Not bad. And the other one?"
Kent lifted the Hidden Spirit Core, a faintly translucent stone with a swirling mist trapped inside. "This is a Hidden Spirit Core. If used correctly, it can create a spiritual stone mine."
Auri tilted his head, his eyes shining with curiosity. "Chip Chip! More power, more destruction, and more money?"
"Exactly," Kent smirked.
Nima sighed in frustration. "I hate how lucky you are. Big brother, I want a share of the money for my snacks. I helped you lower the stone price."
Kent shrugged. "It's a gift from heaven. Ha Ha Ha!. Don't worry, I will give you some snack money. Now, You two go to bed. I have work to do. Goodnight."
With his successful gamble secured, Kent turned his focus to the next task—preparing his Void Domain. He retrieved the seeds, plants, and the Heart of Aether, carefully laying them out in front of him.
"Time to get to work."
Closing his eyes, Kent summoned his connection to the Void Domain. A strange, pulling sensation filled his chest, and in an instant, his consciousness shifted. The empty, endless expanse of his domain stretched before him—vast, silent, and waiting.
He took a deep breath. "Let's change that."
With careful precision and his SSS-Rank skill—Architect of Creation, Kent planted the seeds one by one equally in four areas, embedding them into the dark soil of his Void Domain. The evolution-enhancing seeds, spiritual herbs, monster-attracting grasses, and small spiritual trees were carefully arranged in specific locations.
He placed the Heart of Aether at the very centre of the water on an island in the middle of the sea, positioning it near the Forsaken Gate Cave. This would be the control centre of his domain—a hub of power and transformation.
The moment the Heart of Aether touched the ground, a pulse of energy radiated outward. The soil trembled, and a soft cerulean glow spread across the landscape. Slowly, the first sprouts began to emerge, their tiny leaves unfurling as if reaching toward the sun. The once barren void was now teeming with the beginnings of life.
Kent felt a surge of satisfaction. "This is only the beginning."
His Architect of Creation skill activated, reinforcing the changes. The Heart of Aether would serve as the core of his domain, nurturing the land and accelerating growth. Over time, the trees would mature, herbs would spread, and what was once an empty void would become a thriving sanctuary.
With the seeds planted, he turned his attention back to the Heart of Aether, watching as it pulsed gently, almost as if it were alive. Tiny sprouts continued to emerge, and the air filled with a sense of possibility—a promise of life flourishing even in the void.
As the night deepened, Kent withdrew from the Void Domain, exhaling sharply as he returned to reality. He felt the lingering effects of his exertion but smiled in satisfaction.
Nima peered at him. "You good? Why do you look so exhausted? We watched you for some time. You were sitting still with your eyes closed."
Kent nodded. "Yeah. I'm just taking the first steps in building something big. Why didn't you two go to bed?"
Before she could answer, Kent's phone buzzed. He picked it up and saw Jade Monroe's name flashing on the screen.
Curious, he answered. "Nexus Jade?"
Jade's voice came through, businesslike as always. "Kent, I have something you might be interested in."
Kent raised an eyebrow. "Oh?"
"A new ruins site has just been discovered," Jade explained. "It's an ancient structure that surfaced after the second wave. Nexus believes it could hold significant artifacts. But here's the catch—it's dangerous, and I need someone capable of exploring it. I'm busy managing affairs on the new continent."
Kent's interest was piqued. "And you're offering an entry pass to me?"
"Yes!, You're one of the few people who can handle this kind of job," Jade replied. "As per our agreement, I've secured two entry passes. If you take this on, we split the profits fifty-fifty. Do you remember our deal?"
Kent considered it. The timing was almost too perfect. He had just started building his Void Domain and needed more resources to expand it. This could be exactly what he needed. If the ruins contained wild monsters, he might even capture them and bring them into his Void Domain.
He grinned. "I'm in, bro! Where's the location?"
Jade's tone held a hint of satisfaction. "Good. The ruins will open in two or three days, but you need to head there tomorrow. I'll send you the location."
As the call ended, Kent set his phone down, anticipation rising. A new adventure awaited—and he was more than ready for it.
He glanced at Nima and Auri. "Looks like we have a new job."
Nima groaned. "Please tell me it involves good food and not just more hard work like carrying seeds or stones."
Kent smirked. "Both. There will be many treasures. Nima, we're going to be rich. Whatever you and Auri find, that treasure will belong to you."
Kent thought to himself, "This way, I can share less profit with Jade. Our deal is to split the profits of my loot for two entry passes. I'm not cheating with him. My little sister and my pet bird's loot belong to them—I don't have to share those profits."
Auri flapped his wings excitedly. "Then what are we waiting for? Let's go find some ancient loot! I also want to earn a lot of money for my juices and snacks. Nima doesn't share her snacks with me. She is very stingy."
Kent chuckled. "We still have time. You two sleep now. Tomorrow morning, we leave for the ruins."
Outside the hotel, the city glowed softly under the midnight sky, and the distant sound of ocean waves provided a gentle lullaby. As Kent lay back, he whispered with determination—
"My void domain is a place where even the darkest void can bloom with life."
And with that, he drifted off to sleep, ready to face whatever tomorrow might bring.
A few hours later, The morning air was crisp as Kent, Nima, and Auri gathered their things, preparing for their journey to the newly discovered ruins. They check out of the hotel.
"You sure we can't take a private car?" Nima whined, shifting her pink Barbie suitcase into a more comfortable grip.
"We could," Kent said, checking his Nexus and Watcher card balance, "but I'd rather not waste money on a luxury. We're taking the bus. This way, we can enjoy and watch the scenery of the city's rural area."
Nima groaned in protest, but Kent ignored her and bought three bus tickets for their trip to the remote site near Azure Bay City. He argued with the ticket seller about the price. His goal was to earn SP.
Once aboard the slightly rickety long-distance bus, they found seats near the window. The vehicle smelled faintly of old upholstery and instant noodles, but it wasn't the worst Kent had endured. As the bus began its slow trek through the countryside, he leaned back and let his thoughts drift.
Safety!! That was his primary concern. The ruins were bound to be dangerous, and while he trusted his skills, he couldn't say the same for Nima or Auri. They will be teleported to different locations when they enter the Ruin. If Nima or Auri get teleported to a dangerous area… that will be very bad. He needs to make sure they have enough power to protect themselves.
Kent thinks, "Nima had Raka and Lumo both Level D. Nima is also Level-D. She will be fine. But she doesn't have any weapons. The only spiritual tool or artifact she has is the soul refinement Orb. I need to find a weapon for Nima. Auri doesn't have anything."
"System, I need better equipment for them. Do you have something useful?" he asked.
[Ding! Finally, host, you stop being cheap! There are plenty of useful things in the system shop!]
Kent rolled his eyes. "Alright, show me what's worth buying. I still have a lot of SP from the loan. I will make sure to spend it well."
Ding! System shop window- A glowing list appeared before him, showcasing a range of items, some absurdly expensive, others relatively affordable. After a few moments of browsing, he made his choices.
