Chapter 710: Barca vs Atletico II
Hiro entered the field. He could audibly hear the cheers erupting forth in the stand. He could palpably feel the excitement. The electrifying atmosphere made his pulse hasten. Hiro could feel the support of the crowd.
While advancing, he swept his gaze around.
The sight of a sea of supporters clad in the colors of Barcelona enthralled him. The sight was marvelous and intimidating at the same time.
Hiro was standing before a packed stadium and the opposing supporters were openly hostile toward him. Well, he had snubbed their offer.
Even so, he remained unfazed by the hostile jeers. He couldn't care less about their jeers. They could jeer all they wanted but he wouldn't care.
He was here to perform.
There was a time, he dreamt of playing here. However, he dreamt of playing here in front of a packed crowd that supported him.
Though he had managed to fulfill that dream of his, the scenario wasn't something he had expected. Right now, he was their enemy.
'Hahaha... I didn't expect my dream would come true like this...' Hiro couldn't help but curl his lips.
His gaze then darted to the stand filled with Atletico supporters. He tried to spot his friend. However, amidst the buzzing crowd, he failed to spot them.
This disappointed him a little.
Then he proceeded with the team. After a while, they started doing warm-ups. Hiro could feel the glare of the opposing supporter aimed at him.
However, he didn't concern himself with their glares. Instead, he focused his attention on the task before him. While they were warming up in their half, the opposing team was also warming up in the other half.
During the warm-ups, Hiro glanced at the opposing side.
Just from a glance, Hiro could tell that they were skilled. Especially, their passes were truly praiseworthy. They were precise and accurate.
More than anything, however, it looked like they were having fun with the session. They didn't seem bothered by the fact that they were in the presence of thousands of supporters.
Hiro retracted his gaze and looked at his side.
Compared to the expression and ambiance he witnessed on the other side, Hiro found their situation rather troubling. Most of his teammates had a rather stern expression. Perhaps, they were affected by the pressure around them.
'How can we perform like this?' Hiro sighed inwardly.
He could tell their situation was bleak. They had also lost one of their most important player -Antoine Griezmann. The absence of Griezmann was evident on the field.
"Let's practice some shooting," Hiro said to Alvarez.
The two of them decided to practice some shooting instead. They had been practicing passes for quite some time.
The crowd was growing louder. The Barcelona fans witnessing the situation of the opposing team felt quite elated. They could vividly see the difference between the two sides.
They could tell that their players were more confident. Their confidence was reflected in their body language. On the other hand, the opposing players looked quite terrible except for a few. It looked like they hadn't rested well in days.
Noticing the obvious difference, their expression became smug.
"How many goals do you think we would score against them?"
"Three would be appropriate."
Even before the start of the game, the home fans were confidently discussing their victory. It was as if they were certain about their victory.
The mood around them was growing incredibly lively with each passing moment.
However, soon their expression turned pale. Their previous smugness couldn't be seen anywhere. Their eyes were opened wide as they stared at the pitch.
Before them, Hiro and Alvarez were challenging each other. Both of them were shooting impressive shots from a distance.
After every shot, the two would raise the bar even more. It looked as if both of them were competing against each other.
While the others around him were solemn by the building pressure, those two were competing against each other. From the looks of it, they seemed to be enjoying the challenge. "Just what is up with those two?"
The home fans couldn't help but feel intimidated.
Even the opposing players couldn't help but feel threatened watching them. The two of them were singlehandedly instilling fear in the heart of the opposition.
The warm-up lasted for a while before the players exited the pitch.
After such a display of performance, the opposition started feeling threatened. The ambiance around them shifted. They couldn't stop thinking about the shots they had witnessed a
moment ago.
Especially Hiro's precise and powerful shots. Those shots had left an imprint inside them.
On the other hand, the away supporters were buzzing with jubilation. Having witnessed the performance of their players, they couldn't stop grinning.
Their voices grew even louder as they showed their support.
"What just happened here?" Akashi asked in a daze.
Just a moment ago, the entire stadium was buzzing with the supportive chants of Barcelona. However, right now, it seemed as if a part of the stadium had died down.
It was as if a bolt of lightning had struck a part of the stadium, silencing the crowd.
"Hiro happened," Endo responded.
The aura with which Hiro carried himself, he couldn't stop recalling. It wouldn't be an overstatement to say that he had singlehandedly shifted the atmosphere of the stadium.
He turned to look at the departing figure of Hiro.
Lifting the corner of his lips, he smiled, "No matter where you go, it's the same."
Endo wasn't the only one musing over him. Many others were musing over Hiro as well.
However, the opposing players were looking at him as a threat. They could instinctively tell that if they wanted to win the game, they'd have to stop this abomination.
Cubarsi, the young center-back of Barcelona, couldn't stop pondering about Hiro's impressive shots.
'If he shoots like that during the game, it would be even harder to stop him. We would need to limit his shooting space as much as possible. But from the footage, it's clear that he has an
excellent knack for finding gaps.'@@novelbin@@
He couldn't help but worry.
What do you think?
