Chapter 713: Barca vs Atletico V

The tension inside the stadium reached an unbearable peak. The crowd, a sea of red and blue, roared with anticipation. Barcelona had been dominant, dictating the rhythm of the match.

With their excellent performance, Barcelona dominated the match.

Yet still, despite their dominance, they failed to score. The lack of goals was making their fans anxious. With such a performance, the fans expected them to lead the game.

However, contrary to their expectation, they couldn't even register one shot on target.

On the other hand, the opposing side seemed much more clinical. They had registered only a few shots. Yet most of them were on target.

In particular, Hiro and Alvarez were exceptionally clinical. Both of them had registered two shots on target.

In today's match, one side was more clinical than the other, while the other side was more dominating than the other.

'They can jeer us all they want. But who cares? The football we play might not be pleasing to the eyes. But if they want to watch such an entertaining football, they should head to a circus instead. Football needs to be practical,' Diego thought.

He had a solemn expression on his face. However, he could audibly hear the jeers of the opposing fans. Those fans were lamenting their style of football.

Part of the reason why Barcelona couldn't penetrate the defense of the opposition was because the opposition had invested heavily in their defense.

They rarely attacked and most of the time stood behind the half line in their half.

It almost seemed as if they didn't have any intention to attack. They bided their time while they awaited the attack from the opposition.

From their side, only two individuals were attacking.

Barcelona couldn't even rely on their high-line offside trap. Hiro was easily tearing apart their offside trap with precise passing and excellent vision.

Though only two individuals were leading the attack from the red and white side, the fans could feel something was about to explode.

They felt as if they didn't need to worry about their lack of chance creation.

"If it's those two, they can do it."

The fans truly believed and had faith in those individuals.

However, despite the relentless attempt from the home side to open the score, the first half of the game ended scoreless. Both sides were unable to open the score.

Even though, there were a few exciting moments, the first half of the game didn't witness many threats.

While exciting the pitch, Hiro couldn't help but glance at the opposing players. He had to check their state. Utilizing his ability, he peeked at their condition.

"They aren't called elites for no reason," Hiro mused upon seeing their condition.

Even after an exhausting first half, they looked energetic. Their sharpness didn't see much decrease either.

For the entire forty-five minutes, these players had played a physically demanding style of attacking football. Yet, none of them had deteriorated much of their stamina.

Every single one of them was oozing vitality.

However, Hiro couldn't help but notice the purple light flickering above Cillian's head. He narrowed his eyes and stared at him. The purple light flickering above Cillian's head was something he hadn't expected.

He hadn't even encountered such a moment before. Hence, he couldn't help but feel perplexed about the strange event occurring before him.

'What's happening?' Hiro pondered.

For a moment, he kept staring at him. But before he could even figure it out, the light disappeared.

Soon after the players returned and assumed their position to start the second half.

While assuming his position, Hiro's gaze darted toward Cillian. The strange purple light flickering above his head had him pondering the entire break time.

He couldn't even pay attention to the words of Diego.

However, right now, besides the red arrow, he couldn't spot anything.

"Strange," Hiro muttered under his breath.

He knew he had seen something strange before. Yet, now he couldn't spot anything abnormal. Oddly things had returned to normal.

"Was it my imagination?" Hiro felt dumbfounded. He couldn't tell if the strange purple lights he had noticed were real or imaginary. Those felt real and unreal at the same time. "Let's not think about it more." Hiro reminded himself. "I need to focus on the match."

Hiro retracted his gaze and looked straight ahead. An eerie light flashed past his eyes as Hiro turned to look at the ball.

The stadium was still buzzing. The fans, now more refreshed, cheered even louder than before. Their voices shook every nook and canny of the stadium. Their passion was palpable and the atmosphere of the stadium was electrifying.

Yet, a sense of unease and anticipation lingered in the stadium.

Beep!

The referee blew the whistle and the second half commenced in full swing.

Immediately, both sides sprang into action.

As the game edged into the second half, a single moment shifted everything.

In the 53rd minute, Pedri spotted a sliver of space in Atletico's high line. Without hesitation,

he lofted a precise through ball into the danger zone.

Though the pass was alarming, Hiro didn't feel much from this pass.

However, when he swept his gaze to find Cillian, his heart started pounding. For some inexplicable reason, a feeling of suffocation engulfed him.

He felt as if the air around him had turned heavy.

His eyes dilated and his senses cried out in alarm. Once again, he could see those stranger dark

purple lights flickering around Cillian.

Before he could only see it faintly.

But now, the intensity of those stranger lights had grown. The entire space around him appeared to be warping. The space around him was tearing.@@novelbin@@

Like a beast uncaged, Cillian O Conaill lurched forward.

The ground beneath him rumbled as he darted forward. The air around him crackled with

tension.

His movement was unnatural-a ghost appearing from nowhere-as he accelerated between the center-backs with terrifying speed.

Hiro's expression contorted in terror. He could tell that something fearsome was about to take place. His eyes were crying out to stop this abomination that was advancing steadily.
