Chapter 716: Gratitude toward the rival

Chapter 716: Gratitude toward the rival

The individual before him stood tall before him like a mountain, blocking his path. Hiro could feel his intense gaze pointed at him.

Hiro could palpably feel his resolve.

Even so, Hiro didn't slow down. Instead, he pushed with even more force than before. With every step he took, he left a trail behind.

Upon entering a certain range, the pressure he felt suddenly intensified. It felt like he had stepped inside a certain domain. Hiro felt his senses tingling.@@novelbin@@

The moment Hiro closed the distance, Araujo's eyes glinted with an ominous intensity. His focus peaked as he glared dagger at Hiro.

He swiftly closed the distance while keeping his surroundings checked.

Being the sole defender left to guard the post, he knew he had to move cautiously. He couldn't step forward hastily. Thus, he bided his time until Hiro entered a certain range of reach.

The moment, Hiro entered the domain he had envisioned, he swiftly closed the distance between him and Hiro.

Hiro couldn't spot a single flaw he could exploit. With an imposing height, the person before him looked like an immovable mountain.

Hiro couldn't compare to Araujo in terms of physique. Even with his well-toned physique, Hiro paled in comparison to him.

Compared to Araujo's bear-like physique, Hiro was like a slick cheetah.

'You're doomed!' Araujo's eyes flickered with confidence as he saw Hiro getting near him. He had full faith in his ability to perform in close duels.

Though he was aware of Hiro's dribbling prowess, he didn't feel threatened. He felt glad that Hiro was deliberately charging at him.

If he had maintained his distance, he might have struggled to stop him since he couldn't compare to Hiro in terms of acceleration. However, without the advantage of speed, Hiro was nothing more than a dribbler with excellent dribbling.

Having trained alongside some of the best dribblers, he didn't fear those who excelled at dribbling.

On the sideline, Flick couldn't help but smile, 'You're making a mistake, boy. You're challenging the wrong person in close duel.'

His eyes glistened with excitement while his face flushed. He couldn't stop smiling.

The smile on his face, however, didn't last long. It didn't take long for his expression to change. The smile on his face faded away and his eyes widened in surprise.

"What!"

He couldn't believe the things happening before him.

With an almost inhuman change of direction, Hiro shifted his weight, feinting to the right before sharply cutting inside.

Araujo lunged a little slow to react, missing Hiro by a hairs breadth.

The previous smugness on his face was nowhere to be seen. Instead, he looked panicked and desperate. Even while falling behind, he was stretching his hands, trying to trip Hiro.

However, Hiro had left him behind in an instant.

The short instance where he got through him was enough for Hiro to widen the distance between the two of them.

Before Hiro had purposefully slowed down.

Changing the rhythm was like a piece of cake to Hiro. He could swiftly change between a jog and a sprint in an instance.

With his talent, "Phantom Steps" Hiro could perform unbelievable movements with ease. Leaving behind Araujo, Hiro ventured inside the box.

Now, it was Hiro vs Inaki Pena, the young goalkeeper who had snatched the spot of the first choice goalkeeper with his excellent goalkeeping.

Pena had proven himself in the big stage, earning the faith and respect of both the staff and his teammates.

The spot of the starting goalkeeper of a club like Barcelona was earned through his sheer efforts alone. It wasn't given to him. Hence, he took great pride in himself as the first choice keeper of Barcelona.

Right now, even faced with Hiro's unrelenting pressure, Pena remained unfazed. He could palpably sense the aura emitted from Hiro.

The aura was suffocating and lethal. He had felt such aura from different individuals. Hence, he could tell that Hiro was dangerous.

His senses cried out in alarm as they warned him of the threat he was experiencing.

He steeled his heart as he prepared to face Hiro. His eyes narrowed on Hiro flickered with an eerie light. His heart was beating rapidly. Yet still, he maintained his composure.

Hiro entered the box and immediately the effect of the talent "Knight in the Area" kicked in. Hiro could feel his senses heightening. The world around him turned silent and the path before him unfolded.

Hiro could see different paths. He could also feel the sharp glare of the opposing keeper. The opposing keeper was shrouded in white mist.

'You wouldn't be the first choice keeper of Barcelona if you didn't omit such aura, would you?'

Hiro couldn't help but admire the resolve of the opposing keeper. However, he didn't feel threatened.

With unwavering composure, Hiro dropped his shoulder, bating the opposing keeper into diving early, before calmly slotting the ball into the bottom corner.

Pena was tricked. Though he saw through Hiro's feint, he failed to react in time.

He changed his direction. However, he failed to reach the ball.

GOAL!

The crowd erupted and the Atletico fans roared back to life. The pent up excitement burst and

the entire stadium buzzed with their excited cheers.

However, at the same time, the murmurs of disappointment mixed with the roar of celebration. The Camp Nou was a mix of excitement and disappointment.

Though Atletico fans roared at the top of their lungs, the buzz wasn't as great as it was

before.

"Goal... Hiro strikes again," The commentator cried out. "The Camp Nou has turned silent

and the Atletico fans are rioting."

"It had to be Hiro. It had to be him."

"The score has been tied and Atletico is back in the game."

"Hiro! Hiro! Hiro!"

The three of Hiro's friends began to chant his name in exhilaration. They had flown this far to witness his brilliance and they were fortunate enough to witness it.

Ishikawa's eyes moistened while her face flushed. Her eyes radiated with elation. She couldn't

help but feel glad.

Hiro turned to the crowd, slamming his fist against the badge on his jersey. He then stared down Cillian, his gaze filled with determination.

'Thank you for reminding me who I am.' Though Cillian mocked him previously, he felt nothing but gratitude towards him.
