Chapter 291 Survival Does Not Suit Him
"Your Highness!"
"In the capital city, flying with a sword is not permissible. It could harm civilians," the guards inside the mansion shouted urgently, followed by Grand Tutor Su Hua rushing out.
The small figure flying in the sky on a sword was none other than the little princess of the Jing Nation, Gu Simu.
By now, she had grown to the height of a typical three-year-old, with a mind even sharper.
Her mischievous nature remained unchanged, as Simu continued to fly towards the outskirts of the mansion. Just as Su Hua was about to intervene, a figure appeared before Simu.
The newcomer was Mu Yuyan, who had just emerged from the royal family's secret realm.
"Mother! Mother!"
Simu rushed into Mu Yuyan's arms, seeking comfort in the familiar embrace. Seeing her daughter's adorable demeanor, the Empress's eyes softened.
"Being naughty even in front of your teacher, be careful, or your father will come back and spank you," she teased, patting Simu's head affectionately.
She couldn't bring herself to discipline her. Such matters were better left to her husband.
Mu Yuyan collected Simu's flying sword and the wolf hair brush in her hand, leading her into the Grand Tutor's mansion.
"Minister, I pay my respects to Your Majesty," Su Hua and his guards stepped forward to bow.
With a gentle lift of her hand, Mu Yuyan prevented them from performing the formal bow. "I disguise myself to leave the palace; there's no need for formalities, Teacher."
"Simu's talents are extraordinary, coupled with her mischievous nature. I am grateful for your guidance," Su Hua praised, simultaneously acknowledging Simu's precociousness. She could read and write fluently, and her skill in literature far surpassed her peers. She even outshone the former Emperor and Princess Ming Yue in their youth.
Upon hearing her mother's praise, Simu pouted and then immediately perked up at the compliments.
Su Hua proceeded to detail the lessons Simu had learned during this time, from mastering multiplication tables to practicing calligraphy.
Mu Yuyan nodded in approval at Simu's progress in arithmetic but restrained her smile at the mention of her calligraphy lessons.
Su Hua's narrative was thorough, and Mu Yuyan, as a mother, listened attentively, while Simu grew increasingly bored, on the verge of falling asleep.
She glanced at her mother and then quietly began playing a little game with her spiritual sword, using her pinky finger.
Rock, paper, scissors!
The spiritual sword defaulted to scissors every time, and Simu kept choosing rock, thus winning every round. Seeing her spiritual sword's dejected appearance made her gleeful.
"Giggle, giggle!"
Simu's laughter filled the air, momentarily quieting the surroundings. However, as she laughed, she met her mother's stern gaze.
"Mommy~~"
Simu darted into Mu Yuyan's embrace, nuzzling her small head against her chest. Mu Yuyan couldn't resist this new form of coaxing, her stern expression softening.
"Teacher, Simu is indeed mischievous."
"I will take her back to the palace for a few days, discipline her properly, and then send her back to your tutelage," Mu Yuyan declared, and Su Hua naturally consented.
As Su Hua watched the two figures recede into the distance, a tinge of reluctance flickered in his eyes.
These days had been the most challenging yet most joyful as the Imperial Tutor. Though the little princess was mischievous, it was the nature of children.
Yet, her talent and brilliance were unmatched. To have the privilege of nurturing such a talent was truly fulfilling.
Once the two had departed, Su Hua shook his head with a smile and returned to his study. The room immediately resounded with lamentations:
"Oh no!"
"My precious inkstone!"
"The blue-and-white porcelain pen holder!"
"And my wolf hair brush!"
"..."
Before long, within the Imperial Garden, Simu was carrying a wolf hair brush, gracefully painting on the marble steps.
Liu Yexi and Xiao Fei'er stood by, having learned that the little princess had returned to the palace, they came specifically to admire her work.
After Simu finished writing, they approached to examine it closely, deciphering a few words from the crooked and ghostly characters: "Where did Daddy go? Mumu wants to eat Spirit Fruit..."
The two women were speechless.
In the Immortal Realm, Gu Lan stepped out of the array formation and witnessed a scene that left him stunned.
Strange and grotesque evil spirits were entwined around Chen Feng, gnawing incessantly!
His armor, shield, helmet, and protective mirror were all battered and worn, covered in scars!
"You have witnessed the Destiny Boy being ambushed, +10000, +10000, +10000..."
A surge of Destiny hit Gu Lan, and he immediately relaxed. Truly worthy of being the protagonist, to endure such a plight without succumbing!@@novelbin@@
Seeing Gu Lan's arrival, Chen Feng's eyes moistened. With all his strength, he cried out, "Senior... save me..."
As it turned out, after Gu Lan entered the Spirit Gathering Immortal Valley, Chen Feng wandered around the perimeter of the array.
But as he roamed, he encountered an evil spirit of King Stage's strength. Without hesitation, Chen Feng attacked with all his might, crushing the evil spirit into dissipating strands of deathly energy.
Satisfied with his victory, Chen Feng continued his stroll, only to encounter another evil spirit, and once again, he unleashed his full strength.
However, more and more evil spirits were drawn to the deathly energy, overwhelming Chen Feng.
Despite using all his defensive treasures, he found himself unable to prevail. Eventually, he ended up in his current state.
Fortunately, his Fate was strong, and the dim-witted evil spirits failed to inflict any fatal wounds, allowing him to endure until Gu Lan emerged.
The Spirit Gathering Immortal Valley, where the essence of heaven and earth converged, was also a place of deathly Qi.
If not for the array formation barrier, the entire valley would have been overrun by evil spirits.
Wasn't this the reason Ling Xuzi mentioned the exceptionally dangerous nature of this place?

Gu Lan shook his head and dispersed all the evil spirits with a wave of his hand.
"Thank you, senior," Chen Feng said weakly, after being saved from the brink of death. He popped a pill into his trembling lips and expressed his gratitude to Gu Lan.
This time, he truly understood what it meant to be on the brink of death!
Before his demise, he recalled the words his senior had once said to him: "Heaven bestows great responsibilities upon a chosen individual; man's life may be as light as a feather or as heavy as Mount Tai."
Though he didn't know how heavy Mount Tai was as an immortal mountain, he knew how light a feather was.
Chen Feng didn't want to die so miserably, hence he persisted with all his might.
"Surviving a great disaster will bring great fortune."
"Don't lose heart. Keep striving in your cultivation. When you return to the Immortal Realm next time, you will surely return as a king," Gu Lan encouraged Chen Feng with an air of confidence.
If Chen Feng learned to be more cautious in the future, Destiny wouldn't have been so easily acquired.
Sure enough, upon hearing the words "return as a king," a spark reignited in Chen Feng's weakened eyes.
"Senior, I will not disappoint you... If I succeed one day, I will surely eradicate all evil spirits in the world and avenge today's humiliation!"
Chen Feng, clad in battle-worn attire, raised his fist defiantly, his eyes ablaze with unyielding fury!
"What a spirit," Gu Lan laughed, shaking his fan with an appreciative smile. Hmm... as long as Chen Feng maintains this kind of mentality, Destiny won't be hard to acquire!
After a moment, Gu Lan felt that the matter here was concluded. With a slight movement of his divine sense, an ancient immortal boat flew automatically from the void.
It was time to return to the mortal realm; he had missed his wife so much these past few days...
What do you think?
