Chapter 2652: Catch Up (1)

"What should we do next?" Tang Zhen asked. "I'm afraid he must be heading towards us now."

Dian Lun turned to look at the Chaos Knights below and said, "Everyone, move aside."

The Chaos Knights quickly heeded the command and spread out.

Dian Lun took a deep breath and channeled his divine energy. He raised his hand and pointed it at the ground below.

"Break!" he roared, unleashing a devastating attack.

A beam of pure energy erupted from his fingertip, slamming into the ground with earth- shattering force.

BOOM!!

The ground cracked and split, the earth shattering, revealing a massive, pulsating sphere of energy deep beneath the surface.

It was the core of the Ancient Battlefield, the source of its power, the heart of its chaotic energy.

The sphere was covered in a strange barrier, a shimmering membrane that pulsed with an eerie light. It was this barrier that had prevented them from accessing the core directly, forcing them to resort to indirect methods to locate it.

"Everyone, attack the barrier!" Dian Lun commanded, his voice booming across the battlefield.

The Chaos Knights, heeding his command, unleashed their combined power. Beams of energy, blades of darkness, waves of chaotic force, all converged on the barrier, striking it with devastating force.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

The barrier shimmered and rippled, its surface distorting under the onslaught of attacks. But it held firm, its defenses strong, its resilience remarkable.

Dian Lun's expression hardened. He had not expected the barrier to be so strong. They would need to unleash their full power to break through it.

"Do not hold back!" he roared. "Unleash your full strength!"

The Chaos Knights, spurred by his words, pushed their powers to the limit. The intensity of their attacks increased, the energy surging, the darkness swirling, the chaos intensifying.

The barrier, under the relentless assault, began to show signs of strain. Cracks appeared on its surface, spreading like spiderwebs, threatening to shatter its defenses.

Dian Lun, sensing their progress, pressed them harder.

"Almost there!" he shouted. "One final push!"

The Chaos Knights, their energy reserves dwindling, gathered their remaining strength and unleashed one final, devastating attack.

BOOOOOOM!-

The barrier shattered, its defenses collapsing under the combined might of the Chaos Knights. The core of the Ancient Battlefield, now exposed, pulsed with a vibrant energy, its chaotic aura filling the air.

But just as they were about to claim their prize, a sudden change occurred.

Swoosh!

Several figures materialized in the air above them, their forms shimmering with an ethereal light. They were tall and imposing, their faces obscured by ancient masks, their bodies clad in armor that seemed to predate time itself.

They were the remnant souls of the Guardians of the Ancient Battlefield, ancient beings who had sworn to protect this realm from those who would seek to exploit its power.

Dian Lun's expression hardened. He had not anticipated this, the appearance of these ancient guardians. He had no time to deal with them, not while the core was exposed, vulnerable. "Kill them!" he commanded, his voice filled with urgency.

The Chaos Knights, though weary from their previous exertions, turned their attention to the guardians, their weapons raised, their powers ready.

Dian Lun, however, did not wait for his subordinates to engage. He lunged forward, his figure a blur of motion, his hands crackling with dark energy.

He attacked the guardians directly, his strikes swift and powerful, his dark energy seeking to corrupt and consume their ethereal forms.

The guardians, though surprised by his sudden attack, reacted quickly. They raised their ancient weapons, their movements fluid and graceful, their forms shimmering with an otherworldly light.

They met Dian Lun's attacks head-on, their weapons clashing against his dark energy. The battle was fierce, the clash of powers intense. Dian Lun's dark energy clashed against the guardians' ethereal light, the two forces locked in a struggle for dominance.

However, the guardians were merely remnant souls. They were not as powerful as they were in their prime. As time passed, their strength gradually weakened.

On the other hand, Dian Lun and the Chaos Knights were still at their peak condition. The guardians were no match for them in the long run.

After half an hour, Dian Lun and the Chaos Knights finally managed to erase all the guardians, their ethereal forms dissipating into motes of light, leaving behind a sense of peace and

serenity.

Dian Lun let out a long breath, his body slightly trembling from the exertion. He had underestimated the guardians, had not expected them to be so formidable. But in the end, they had prevailed, their strength and determination proving superior.@@novelbin@@

He turned to the Chaos Knights, his expression serious. "Quickly, secure the core. We cannot afford any further delays."

The Chaos Knights, heeding his command, moved swiftly to secure the core of the Ancient Battlefield. They carefully extracted it from the earth, their movements precise and cautious, ensuring that they did not damage the delicate sphere of energy.

Once the core was secured, Dian Lun turned to Tang Zhen, his expression grim. "We must

leave now. Yun Lintian is coming. We cannot risk a confrontation with him."

"What are you waiting for then?" Tang Zhen responded and quickly rushed back to the tunnel, followed by Dian Lun and the other Chaos Knights.

Meanwhile, Yun Lintian and his group were flying across the vast expanse of the Ancient Battlefield, their figures silhouetted against the crimson sky. They had been traveling for twenty minutes, their speed unmatched.

Along the way, Yun Lintian encountered a few groups of creatures of chaos and captives. He simply eliminated the creatures and sent the captives to the Nine Firmament City.

Soon, Yun Lintian finally saw the sandstorm barrier that he had once encountered. Back then, he failed to break through it and was interrupted by Tantai Xue. This time, he was confident in

dealing with it.

Yun Lintian landed before the barrier and looked at Yun Qianxue. "Stay back."

Yun Qianxue and the others stepped back, leaving enough space for Yun Lintian.

Yun Lintian took a deep breath and closed his eyes. He focused his mind, reaching deep within himself, tapping into the power of the God Marks that adorned his Divine Core. The symbols of the Storm and the Earth glowed brightly, their energy resonating with the swirling vortex of sand and chaos before him.

He raised his hands, his fingers moving in intricate patterns, weaving a tapestry of divine energy. The wind and earth elements responded to his call, their power surging forth,

converging upon the barrier.

The sandstorm barrier, sensing the intrusion, reacted violently. The swirling vortex intensified, the sand and chaos churning with renewed vigor, its defenses strengthening...
