Chapter 2656: Challenger (2)
The air grew heavy, the chaotic energy of the Abyssal Rift intensifying as the formation began to take shape.
Yun Lintian stood at the center of the circle, his Frostmourne Spear resting lightly in his hand. His golden eyes scanned the Chaos Knights, his expression calm but alert.
He could feel the shift in the atmosphere, the growing pressure as the formation activated. It was a formation he had never encountered before, but he could sense its power-a power that was both ancient and malevolent.
"Chaos Annihilation," Dian Lun said, his voice echoing through the void. "A formation designed to erase even the strongest of beings from existence. You should feel honored, Yun Lintian. This formation has not been used in millennia."
Yun Lintian's lips curved into a faint smile. "Honored? I suppose I should thank you for going through so much trouble. But do you really think this formation can stop me?"
Dian Lun's expression remained calm, but there was a flicker of uncertainty in his eyes. He had seen Yun Lintian's power firsthand, and he knew that the man's limit was beyond his comprehension. But he also knew that the Chaos Annihilation Formation was their last hope. If this failed, there would be no stopping Yun Lintian.
"We shall see," Dian Lun said, his voice steady. "Activate the formation!"
As soon as the words left his mouth, the Chaos Knights began to channel their energy into the formation. The air around them shimmered, and a massive, intricate pattern of dark energy began to form in the void.
The pattern glowed with an eerie light, its lines twisting and intertwining like a living thing. The chaotic energy of the Abyssal Rift surged, drawn into the formation like a vortex.
Yun Lintian watched as the formation took shape, his expression calm but his mind working quickly. He could feel the power of the formation pressing down on him, its energy threatening to overwhelm him. But he remained still, his Frostmourne Spear glowing with an icy light, his aura radiating a sense of calm authority.
The formation reached its peak, and the Chaos Knights raised their weapons, their voices chanting in unison. The dark energy of the formation surged, converging on Yun Lintian like a tidal wave. The air around him crackled with power, the void itself seeming to tremble under the force of the formation.
"Chaos Annihilation!" Dian Lun roared.
The dark energy surged forward, a massive wave of destruction that threatened to engulf everything in its path. The Chaos Knights watched with bated breath, their eyes fixed on Yun Lintian, waiting to see if their formation would succeed.
But Yun Lintian did not falter.
He raised his Frostmourne Spear, and a wave of icy energy erupted from its tip. The energy surged forward, meeting the dark wave head-on.
BOOOOM!!
The two forces collided with a deafening roar, the shockwave rippling through the Abyssal Rift. The void itself seemed to shudder under the force of the collision, the chaotic energy of the rift swirling around them like a storm.
For a moment, it seemed as though the dark energy of the formation would overwhelm Yun Lintian's icy wave. But then, something unexpected happened.
The icy energy began to spread, its cold light piercing through the darkness. The dark energy of the formation faltered, its power weakening as the icy energy continued to surge forward. The Chaos Knights watched in horror as their formation began to crumble, its intricate patterns unraveling under the force of Yun Lintian's power.
"Impossible!" Dian Lun exclaimed, his voice filled with disbelief. "How can he counter the Chaos Annihilation Formation?"
Yun Lintian's lips curved into a faint smile. "Your formation is powerful, but it relies on the chaotic energy of the rift. And chaos... is something I understand all too well."
BANG!
With a final surge of energy, Yun Lintian's icy wave shattered the formation completely. The dark energy dissipated, the intricate patterns fading into nothingness.
The Chaos Knights were thrown back, their bodies battered and broken by the force of the explosion.@@novelbin@@
Dian Lun and Tang Zhen were the only ones left standing, their expressions filled with shock and disbelief. They had poured everything into the formation, and yet Yun Lintian had countered it with ease. The man standing before them was not just strong-he was unstoppable.
At this moment, Tian Zhen finally understood the horror of Yun Lintian. Thinking back to when he ridiculed Kai Xuan for failing to defeat Yun Lintian, he felt like a clown. This man was simply beyond anything he had ever met. Perhaps only the Lord of Chaos could subdue him.
Dian Lun and Tang Zhen stood frozen, their minds racing as they tried to comprehend the sheer magnitude of Yun Lintian's power.
Yun Lintian stood calmly at the center of the battlefield, his Frostmourne Spear resting lightly in his hand.
"What else do you have? Please bring it out." He said calmly.
Buzz-
Before Dian Lun could respond, the space around them suddenly shifted. The chaotic energy of the Abyssal Rift seemed to still, as if the very fabric of reality had been frozen. A figure materialized out of nowhere, his presence instantly commanding the attention of everyone present.
The man was tall and lean, with long white hair that flowed down his back like a waterfall of snow. His black robes were simple yet exuded an air of authority, and his eyes, sharp and calculating, seemed to pierce through the very soul of anyone who met his gaze. He stood with an air of calm confidence, as if the entire Abyssal Rift was his domain.
Dian Lun and Tang Zhen's eyes widened in shock as they recognized the man. They immediately dropped to one knee, their heads bowed in respect.
"Grand Protector!" Dian Lun said, his voice filled with reverence. "We did not expect your presence here."
The Grand Protector, Yang Xie, glanced at them briefly, his expression unreadable. "Rise," he said simply, his voice calm but carrying an undeniable weight.
Dian Lun and Tang Zhen stood up, their expressions a mix of relief and apprehension. They had heard of Yang Xie's power, but they had never seen him in action. His sudden appearance here could only mean one thing-the situation had escalated beyond their control.
Yang Xie turned his gaze to Yun Lintian, his sharp eyes studying the young man with a mixture of curiosity and appraisal.
"You are Yun Lintian?" he said, his voice calm but laced with a subtle edge. "You have grown up far quicker than anyone expected. To think that a mere mortal could reach such heights in such a short time... it is truly remarkable."
He paused for a moment and continued, "However, coming here alone to challenge us like this must be the last thing you should do."
What do you think?
