Naruto- Secret Sage

Attack

It didn't take a genius to realize that there was something strange about the three tails seemingly vanishing into thin air. My sensei was no slouch intellectually and soon came to ask me where the thing was.

"In a lake in the land of rivers near the land of water. No ones found it yet because I was conducting a little experiment with the beast to see if it would choose to stay in the lake harmlessly or leave and cause trouble. I set up sealing formations around the lake that cause those walking towards the lake to subconsciously skirt around it instead." I said with a grin when she asked.

"You actually trusted a tailed beast like that?" she asked with an odd expression.

"Why not? All the evidence points out that the things aren't mindless but in truth no less intelligent than any person and rarely caused trouble unless crossed somehow before they were all captured decades ago. What was to say that if given the option to live in peace they wouldn't take it? I took a chance to see if the three tails would take this option and it did, it hasn't gone on a rampage or killed anyone since it resurrected." I say seriously.

"So you were right in this case, but what about the other beasts? The Eight tails caused a great amount of destruction every time it broke free of it's seal and the one tail was no different." she said with a disapproving look.

"Of course they did or have you neglected to consider where they were at those times? Each beast is massive in scale and even if they didn't actively attempt to cause destruction it was inevitable when they were in such cramped environments. Also consider that they likely didn't want to be sealed away again and thus tried to fight their way out of their places." I said and she thought about it with a frown.

"So you mean to say that it's our fault the beasts rampage after breaking free?" she said questioningly and I firmly nodded.

"You can't tell me that after being forced into a seal against your will and then used as little more than a mere tool for decades wouldn't make you want to fight as viciously as possible at even the smallest chance of freedom?" I asked and she sighed.

"You have a point but you have to understand that even if you are right prejudice against the beasts won't stop. It's too late for them to be free, all the villages have had a taste of the power they offer. Perhaps the three tails is free for now but it will not last for long as more and more people will look for it until eventually someone with knowledge of seals will find that lake." she said seriously.

"Oh I know but that doesn't mean I can't give the beasts a sporting chance. Perhaps not a big one but sometimes even the little things matter." I said with a smile.

She turned out to be right as within two days of us having that conversation the lake in question was the place of a battle that led the three tails chakra being scattered about but the big fella himself missing. Shortly after that Killer B, the jinchuriki of the eight tails was attacked and had some of his chakra stolen but successfully repelled the attackers, as in killed them. That was to say Kisame and Deidara got killed. Oddly neither of those were partnered from the information we had so them working together like this was unusual.-

We soon learned why Itachi wasn't with Kisame during the attack and even I had to raise an eyebrow at the information, Sasuke had killed him. I'm not saying that it was impossible for Sasuke to kill Itachi but it was a matter of maturing talent really. Both of them were more or less equally talented if I had to say but Itachi had at least a seven or eight years headstart on Sasuke. This meant Sasuke would have had to take a shortcut of some sort to gain power and skill equal to Itachi to bridge this time gap.-

Though I also had to consider Itatchi's illness and slowly deteriorating eyesight from mangekyou abuse. If both of those factors were added and had advanced far enough it was in theory possible that the gap could be overcome by Sasuke. I wondered whether Itachi had used Shisui's eye on his brother in the end or if I'll have to make good on my promise and kill Sasuke. I suppose I'd find out eventually anyways and chose to leave the topic be. Anyway a Gokage meeting was called to discuss the threat the Akatsuki posed now that all of the villages had had enough of them.-

A Gokage meeting was an extremely rare event in which all of the Kage's from the five major shinobi villages meet up to discuss a topic. To date there have only ever been two such meetings and they were after the previous two great wars which should make it clear how bad things had to be for one to happen. Before my sensei could go to this meeting however the Akatsuki made a move that shook the entire Elemental nations, they attacked Konoha.-

It was a pretty normal day when it happened. I was with Karin at home eating breakfast when my senses caught a massive spike of chakra from above the village followed by a sudden and extreme shift in pressure.

"RUMBLE!"

The sound was deafening and the earth shook as in my senses a massive amount of force struck the barrier of the village before smashing through it with only a slight delay and impacting the center of the village and expanding rapidly. My house at the foot of the Hokage mountain was spared just barely from the devastating attack but that didn't change what I was felling, RAGE!
