Chapter 467: Collision
A chill ran down Yao Ran’s spine as she listened to Quan Yuanwei’s words. When she looked at the map, her eyes trembled in shock.
The new map after the disaster was completely different from the world’s current geography.
Looking up from the map, Yao Ran asked, her voice slightly trembling, "This… This is the new map after the tectonic plate collision?"
Quan Yuanwei nodded solemnly.
Then Yao Ran pointed at a long, jagged line on the map and asked, "What is this?"
Quan Yuanwei swallowed hard and replied in a shaky voice, "That is the planetary crack caused by the asteroid’s impact."
The moment he said this, not only was Yao Ran stunned, but even the always cold and composed Ma Benshun couldn’t hide his shock as he stared at Quan Yuanwei in disbelief.
"Planetary crack? Can this planet still survive with such a massive crack across its entire surface?" Ma Benshun asked in shock.
Quan Yuanwei nodded and replied, "If nothing changes in the next few days, then yes. The planet will have a massive crack, but it will hold together."
Yao Ran caught onto something in his words, had a bad feeling, and asked, "What if something changes?"
Quan Yuanwei looked at her and, after a moment of silence, answered, "Then the planet will explode the moment the asteroid hits. That will be the end of this world."
As his words fell, Yao Ran and Ma Benshun were momentarily stunned into silence.
A few seconds later, Yao Ran’s eyes flickered with determination as she said, "No matter what happens, as long as there is a chance for survival, we must not give up."
Ma Benshun nodded in agreement. "Sister-in-law is right. There is no time to waste in fear. We need to inform the others and change our destination as soon as possible."
Yao Ran, reminded by Ma Benshun’s words, looked at him and said, "Brother Ma, please escort Brother Quan and help him board the plane. I will inform the others about our new destination."
"Alright." Ma Benshun nodded, then turned to Quan Yuanwei. "Let’s go."
As they parted ways, Yao Ran rushed to the command center. Seeing the door already open with no one inside, she quickly activated the speaker system.
Standing at the control panel, she pressed the green button and spoke, "Attention all personnel. There has been a change in our destination."
"I will send the new coordinates to your communication devices. Please follow the same evacuation procedures and head to the updated location as soon as possible. May we all survive this disaster."
After finishing the announcement, Yao Ran pressed the red button on the control panel and swiftly typed on the keyboard. Twenty seconds later, the new destination coordinates had been transmitted to all staff and senior officers, including Xu Ruihan and his team.
Remembering her promise to Yao Yuechuan, Yao Ran also sent the same message to him and Wu Yehao. With that done, she rushed toward the parking lot. By the time she arrived, more than half of the land transports had already departed.
Seeing her approach, Huang Qian said, "Yao Ran, the planes are ready for takeoff, and those evacuating by sea have already left."
Yao Ran nodded and asked, "Have you received the new coordinates?"
"Yes. I heard Quan Yuanwei saw something, and it’s a very bad one." Huang Qian replied. Experience tales with NovelBin.Côm
Yao Ran clenched her fists, nodded, and responded, "There is no time to waste. We need to evacuate everyone as soon as possible."
Looking at her tense expression, Huang Qian said, "Understood."
Two hours later, the soldiers, staff, and senior officers from both teams had boarded their planes. The only empty aircraft remaining in the empty zone near the air raid shelter was a large military transport plane.
Seeing this, Yao Ran, Long Yu, and their friends hurried toward it.
Two minutes later, everyone had boarded the plane. Soon, Shi Xuan’s voice came through the communicator.
"Counting down to takeoff. 10… 9… 8…"
As Shi Xuan counted down, Long Yu completed the final takeoff preparations. The propellers began to spin, and as the door shut, Shi Xuan announced, "Taking off now."
A second later, the military transport aircraft lifted off, slowly ascending to the sky. Simultaneously, fighter jets, transport planes, and military helicopters ascended from the nearby mountain base.
Seeing this, Yao Ran knew that everyone must have left the temporary base.
At that moment, the emergency evacuation by air, land, and sea was finally completed.
Watching from the window, Yao Ran saw the ground and scenery below getting further away and smaller by the second. Clenching her fists tightly, she knew they had left everything behind. The future is full of uncertainty, but they can no longer turn back.
Jia Xiang, sitting beside her, noticed this and placed a hand over Yao Ran’s. Staring ahead, she said, "We will survive. All of us."
Yao Ran looked at her for a moment, then nodded firmly. "Mhm. We will survive."
She then turned her gaze back outside, watching as land transports sped inland while planes ascended higher into the sky.
Three hours later, emergency warning sounds suddenly came from her watch.
Beep! Beep! Beep!
Seeing the flashing red alert on the screen, Yao Ran quickly pressed the red sign and read the message.
[Attention all personnel! The asteroid has entered the planet’s orbit! Collision in two minutes! Prepare for the shockwave!]
As soon as she finished reading the warning, Yao Ran grabbed the communication device hanging above her seat and pressed the transmission button.
Hearing the beeping tone, she spoke anxiously, "Fly higher! The asteroid has entered orbit! It will hit in less than two minutes!"
Her warning sent a ripple of urgency through the other aircraft.
In the next second, the pilots Quickly increased their altitude, land transport drivers accelerated, and ship captains issued emergency alerts, instructing everyone to brace for impact.
As time ran out, the entire planet suddenly trembled violently. Before Yao Ran could react, a deafening sound echoed over the entire planet.
Boom!
What do you think?
