Chapter 474: Nirvana
Hearing what Yao Ran said, Long Yu turned on the communication device and announced, "Attention. We will land in twenty minutes. The destination is the land ahead."
A few seconds after he sent the message, the other pilots responded, "Roger that."
Ten minutes later, Shi Xuan’s voice came through the communication device. "Prepare for landing."
While Long Yu prepared for the landing, Yao Ran put away the map and fastened her seatbelt. As the military transport aircraft gradually descended, the ground drew closer by the second.
Just as the aircraft was about to land, Yao Ran noticed a few armored vehicles approaching in the distance.
She said, "A few armored vehicles are approaching from our left direction."
When her words fell, Long Yu glanced out the window and spotted the approaching vehicles. Not knowing whether they were friend or foe, he immediately turned on the communication device again and issued a warning.
"A group of armored vehicles is approaching from the left direction. Stay vigilant and prepare for battle."
A few seconds later, the other pilots responded, "Roger that."
After the military transport aircraft landed, Yao Ran grabbed her backpack and long sword before stepping down with Jia Xiang.
As soon as her feet touched the ground, two fighter aircraft roared past overhead. The sound of their engines was deafening, causing her to rub her aching ears. Before she could adjust to the noise, three more fighter aircraft soar out.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Looking up, Yao Ran spotted the flag of her country on the fighter aircraft’s bodies and tails. Seeing this, she secretly let out a sigh of relief. Coming from the same country, these people should be friends rather than enemies.
Noticing her staring at the fighter aircraft flying in and out, Jia Xiang smiled and said, "I thought this place was a lawless land without an owner. Turns out, our countrymen are here."
"Yeah." Yao Ran nodded in agreement.
While they waited for the others to disembark from the aircraft, a group of armored vehicles pulled up nearby. Soon, the people inside stepped out.
Dressed in military uniforms with the country’s flag sewn onto their uniforms, the soldiers separated. As the others went to welcome the other survivors who were already waiting there, one of them approached Yao Ran and her friends.
After saluting them, the soldier said, "Welcome to Nirvana. May I ask which base you came from?"
Yao Ran raised an eyebrow slightly upon hearing the name of this place and thought, ’Nirvana... Indeed. This is the last refuge for survivors. Quite fitting for our current situation.’
Although she had this thought, Yao Ran didn’t say it out loud and simply replied, "We came from Juncheng City."
Hearing this, the soldier glanced at the military aircraft and asked, "Will you be staying here permanently?"
Yao Ran wasn’t sure if this place would remain safe in the future, so she couldn’t make a decision right away. Keeping that in mind, she replied, "We just arrived, so I need to discuss it with my friends. For now, we will be staying here temporarily."
After receiving her answer, the soldier said, "Since you are staying temporarily, you will need to pay for the parking spots for your planes."
Yao Ran knew that nothing in this world came for free. Rather than feeling annoyed, she felt relieved. As long as they were upfront about their demands, she wouldn’t have to worry about any hidden agendas.
"Understood. How much do I need to pay?" she asked.
The soldier pointed to a tall building in the distance and replied, "You can find out there."
After that, he turned to the other soldiers and ordered, "Contact the transportation team to escort them to Tower A."
"Yes, Sir." The other soldier accepts the order and talks through his communication device.
The soldier turned to Yao Ran and said, "Please wait here while we arrange transportation."
"Alright." Yao Ran nodded.
While waiting, Yao Ran looked at the tall tower in the distance and noted that it had ten floors.
From afar, it appeared small, but judging by the number of windows on each level, she estimated it could accommodate at least a hundred thousand people. Not far from Tower A, several other towers stood tall, with more than a dozen still under construction.

Looking in the opposite direction, she saw countless soldiers pulling metal boxes from the seawater.
Seeing this, she thought, ’It seems we weren’t the only ones who thought of storing supplies in metal boxes and letting them float at sea. The government and military had the same idea.’
Yao Ran then turned toward the coastline and saw massive metal pillars embedded in the seabed, with workers still installing more.
Watching the metal pillars block the enormous waves from reaching the shore, Yao Ran couldn’t help but admire the engineers’ skill and ingenuity.
While she was deep in thought, the soldiers had already arranged buses for them and other newly arrived survivors.
"Comrade, please board the buses. They will take you to Tower A for registration and parking fee arrangements," the soldier announced after the buses arrived.
While the others boarded the buses, Yao Ran waited for Long Yu before boarding the last buses with him.
Standing by the door, she scanned the surroundings as the bus drove toward Tower A. As they neared, she noticed a big banner hanging at the entrance.
[Welcome to Nirvana! Please report to Tower A on the right for registration.]
Passing the banner, the bus continued for a few more minutes before stopping in front of Tower A’s entrance.
The driver picked up the speaker and announced, "We have arrived at Tower A. Please watch your step as you exit."
After making the announcement, he pressed the button to open the front and back doors. As soon as the doors fully opened, the passengers came down one by one.
Once everyone was off, a soldier approached them and asked, "New residents?"
Long Yu nodded, and the soldier instructed, "Please proceed to the side hall for registration."
What do you think?
