Naval Gacha System: It's Time To Monopolize The Seven Seas!

Chapter 278: | 278 | The Destroyer and Executioner of Liberation

Following the withdrawal of the Untied Military from the Dominion Island, the armies of the Colonial Dominions constructed various camps throughout the northwestern shores of the island. Residing inside were tens of thousands of soldiers from the armies of humanity, basking in the glory of their victory.

They celebrated with rum and delicacies as they had conquered a first piece of the sea region of Terra. Some sang with glee while others dance. Although many died during the first battle, it was nothing compared to the honor those that received from winning the fight. Many would go home filled with the riches of the conquered. Or so they thought.

Inside the central camp was a lone figure surrounded by the generals that had commanded the twenty-four armies of the Colonial Dominions. He was an Apostle who was sent by a Sovereign to ensure the victory of the armies of the Colonial Dominions. It was through him that the combined-offensive fleet, Spear of Longinus was under repair from the unexpected assault of magicraft.

He was the Apostle of the Heavenly Sovereign, his name forged across the stars. He was Orion, the third Heavenly Apostle.

"Sir Orion, your power is of the greatest amongst the apostles. A single spell was enough to wiped their fleet away. The fleet that had been the staple of their authority within the sea region of Terra." Of course, generals would praised the Apostle who had aided them. If not for him, it would have taken tens of thousands of lives to even conquer the Dominion Island. A great price to pay.

"I need no praise, General. As long as your armies conquered this sea region and my master remains satisfied, that is all that matters." The edges of Orion's lips rose, maintaining her humble appearance. He was naturally delighted by the praise, however as a Heavenly Apostle, such things were supposed to be beneath him. After all, why should a god care for the cheers of mortals?

"I see... I see... As expected of the Heavenly Apostle," The general who praised him merely nodded in agreement as the banquet continued. The generals sang and danced, drinking the most exquisite of wine. To them, the United World Government was merely amongst the achievements they would gain as medals in the future. Such arrogance, though expected from humanity.

Orion sipped his wine as he thought about the moment when his master ordered him to aid the armies of the Colonial Dominions. Even though the daemons of the Typhon Region remained an inherent problem to humanity's supremacy in Europa alongside many barbarian races, the Ferus Sea was considered to be of importance to the Sovereigns, especially his Sovereign.

The defeat of the Apostles of the Sovereign of Terra was unexpected. But these Apostles were mere ants in comparison to those closest to the Sovereigns. It was for this reason that Terra remained uncaring as several of her Apostles were murdered by the so-called Dragon of Liberation. With him around, victory was no doubt for even the dragon would fall into its knees upon meeting him.

"But to think that my master would warn me to be cautious." He mumbled to himself, unable to understand the worry of her master. Centuries had passed since the death of a True Apostle. And centuries more would pass. The United World Government would merely become a blip in the annals of time. They would become a forgotten civilization.

"I guess even a Sovereign is fearful of an an-" Before Orion could continue speaking, he felt a shiver in his spine. His glass of wine dropped from his hand, breaking on the floor and spilling exquisite wine. It caught the attention of everyone as the generals raised their eyebrows. They wondered what had happened to the Heavenly Apostle, but before they could question him, screams echoed.

The generals rushed outside as a massive figure blot out the golden sun gleaming from the heavens. All of them were shaken as they squinted their eyes, understanding what it really was. It was a gargantuan behemoth, an eastern dragon of scale beyond legends and myths. Its mere body could crush mountain ranges and flattened them into plains.

It was as though the dragon of the heavens have descended to give them judgment.

Orion steadily stepped out from the encampment and turned his gaze towards the blotted skies. It was the first time he had looked up for he was someone that had peered down like a god. His eyebrows furrowed, realizing that the warning of his master was not without a testament. He was wrong to doubt the Heavenly Sovereign. There really was a monstrous dragon.

"Prepare for battle..." His words resounded, cutting the generals from their trance. Fear was etched into their faces yet their mouths opened and roared orders of varying magnitude. The soldiers who were petrified from fear began moving regardless of their trembling limbs.

Within the crown of the Citadel, Abraham glanced at what lay beneath his towering Citadel. It was a vast staging ground filled to the brim with warships resembling starships of the scifi media. These were the United Navy Strategic Ships, equipped with the latest of every technologies that the United World Government could conjure. It was a fleet of twenty, and it was enough.

"Laplace should have begun the attack by now, and their armies would be decimated." Abraham mumbled to himself as the metallic doors of the elevator slid open. Emerging from its confines was a beautiful lady, she was none other than the Prime Minister of the United World Government, Prime Minister Charlotte. "It's been a while, Abraham."

Abraham's eyebrows raised as Charlotte's visit was unexpected. The trouble that had occurred within Dawn City needed quite some time to recover and she has been busy managing it. After all, it was supposed to be the capital of the World Government, aside from the undisclosed Citadel. Her lips formed a smile as she placed a report unto his table.

"Dawn City is now fully operational, Abraham. Although it was problematic, it wasn't something that I couldn't handle. So..." Charlotte leaned forward, exposing her perky breast covered tightly by a uniform to the middle-aged man. "I want in to whatever plan you have in mind. After all, as lovely as peace is, I don't want myself rusting away in bureaucracy you know?"

Understanding her reasoning for visiting him, Abraham sighed as his thoughts wandered to the strange ideas that had formed yet faded within his mind. Noticing the reaction of Abraham, Charlotte's smile widened. "Oh, did you expect something else, Abraham? I supposed it has been a while since the two of us did it." She shook her head and stepped back.

"Did bureaucracy hit your head or something, Charlotte?" Abraham couldn't even bother himself to sigh anymore. What was supposed to be a straightforward commander of naval forces had become a modern lady in mere months. To be honest, it was his fault for appointing Charlotte as the Prime Minister. She was far more talented within the reigns of the United Navy.

But it was what it was, there was nothing he could do about it.

"At any rate, the plan is nothing special. It's a counter invasion. The moment we clean up their invading forces. We would strike back, deeper into their territories. Utilizing the Sentinel Fleet, it will be quick and shouldn't take no longer than a week to conquer our neighboring Colonial Dominion." Abraham explained to Charlotte, who nodded in understanding.

"That makes sense. Though would you have enough manpower to sustain the counter invasion?" Charlotte questioned, to which Abraham calmly answered. "That will be a problem for the United Military to solve. The Sentinels are merely the sledge hammers of the plan. Whether we can keep what we take depends on the United Military."

"I see... I guess that's why you wanted me to slowly transition the United World Government into a war economy. We must be ready to handle the strain this would throw at our logistics and supplies." Charlotte smiled while Abraham glanced at her. "Any more questions?" She shook her head as she was already satisfied with the information presented to her.

"I'll return to Dawn City and fully transition the nation into a war economy. After all..." Charlotte turned her gaze towards the staging grounds that was vast. It was kilometers away yet the silhouettes of the newly-developed ships remained to be seen by the eyes. It was beautiful, and it made her look forward to the reactions of those from Europa.

"The war against all has already begun. And we must expand."

Meanwhile, the Dominion Island rumbled as a crater blasted itself into its northwestern shores. The plains remained scorched by the flames of the infernal as dust weaved through the devastation. A lone individual levitated in the air, wielding a spear that crackled with thunder. Before him was a gargantuan behemoth, a dragon that was no less of a god.

Its jet-black scales shimmered under the golden light of the sun as its coldly gazed upon him as though he was an unworthy subject. Orion couldn't help but chuckle as the armies he was supposed to assist and protect he become nothing more but ash and dust. He had disappointed the Heavenly Sovereign, dishonored his name. It was for this reason he must take the head of the dragon.

For he must reclaim the honor of his master.

The Dragon of Liberation exuded arrogance as though it stood above the world. It was the first time he felt like a mortal, though there was nothing more but a grin plastered on his face. As a True Apostle, this was an adversity that would either ascend him to the heavens or end his legacy as the Heavenly Apostle Orion.

"I will not fall, Monster."
