Chapter 301: | 301 | 1-Year Timeskip
Ever since the two rulers of the United World Government returned from their visit of the Typhon Region, the country had continuously grown and stabilized. Through the introduction of the Mythical Mage, the Combined-Technology of the Research and Development Department had advanced leap and bounds beyond the expected parameters of augmentation.
More Combined-Technology were introduced to the United World Government. Amongst these newly-developed technologies were the Magna Lance and the Proto-Swarm Program. The Magna Lance was a runic gun with the capabilities of sending a beam of heated-plasma. It was suitable for long-term damage and penetration. It was also high optimized in the atmosphere.
On the other hand, the Proto-Swarm Program was a runic-engraved drones capable of adapting against adversaries without the input of a pilot. This technology was meant to create a reliable assault force whether it'd be through the heavens, the seas, or the land throughout the world. Naturally, these were made with the suggestions of the Mythical Mage.
The United Military wasn't the only organization that benefited from the development of the Combined-Technology. Rune-based vehicles were being produced, capable of utilizing mana to operate its engines and move. Not only that, it also had hovering capabilities. However, before this technology could be mass produce, the infrastructure of the United World Government would have to adapt.
After all, these vehicles or newly-produced technologies required mana crystals to be actuated. These mana crystals were a combination of condensed mana and hydrogen, bringing about a fuel source that could be reused over and over again. Other than that, several technologies were being tested throughout the United World Government.
Some even suggested to launch islands into the air, making them hover. It was practically the golden age of the United World Government as there was nothing to do but move forward towards a greater civilization.
The Mythical Mage and the researchers of the R&D Department got along very well, especially with the resolve of these researchers to learn more about magicraft despite not having a tinge of mana inside their bodies. It was delighting, but also saddening. After all, Althea understood the most the beauty of wielding magicraft in a form that resonated with the age of peace.
Speaking of the manaless bodies of the humans within the United World Government. Some former civilians of the Colonial Dominions have formally become citizens of the World Government. These civilians were imbued with mana, which meant in the centuries to come. As long as the United World Government continued to exist, it wouldn't be surprising to see a nation filled with humans of mana.
However, that was for the future to tell. The Authority, or Abraham Shepherd, followed through the suggestion of Althea. It was her advice of taking orphans throughout the continent of Europa. It wasn't a bad idea, and constructing an orphanage wasn't a heavy duty. As such, after returning to the United World Government, Abraham launched Operation Old World.
Operation Old World was a joint-operation of multiple intelligence agencies within the United World Government to begin intelligence gathering and asset collection. Operatives of these intelligence agencies would roam throughout the continent of Europa and find orphans to take them into the Custodian Program, which was an initiative under the Sentinel.
The joint-operation of various intelligence agencies required utmost precision and caution. The World Government would rather avoid conflict with the League of Humanity, so the operation must be concealed and confidential throughout all levels. However, one would ask. How would these operatives enter the continent of Europa without attracting the attention of the Magus Tower?
Well, there were two ways to enter the continent of Europa. It was through the Typhon Region, penetrating through the mountain range that divided the region from the wider mainland. The other way was random limited spatial transmission. These spatial transmissions would occur in highly-dense mana zones, which would usually be the wilderness or the battlefield.
Naturally, the United World Government picked both of the options. Some operatives were smuggled through the Typhon Region while others directly teleported into random yet dangerous locations. Each of these operatives would be equipped with suitable communications equipment that was highly encrypted and would usually blend in with the natural mana pattern of the environment.
Since the beginning of the Operation Old World, over three dozens of orphans have been enrolled into the Custodian Program. Each of them were children with high potential, making them a suitable apprentice for magicraft. Most of these orphans were found in battlefields, losing their families through bloodshed and war. It was an unfortunate tragedy, but a natural one.
Abraham always visited the orphanage to observe the orphans. Some were quiet, few were confident and loud, most were smart and cautious. These kids weren't to be underestimated as they had long matured from their childhood, which wasn't something that he could praise. After all, children should be children. Let the adults take care of everything.
Tiamat had also been accepted under the tutelage of the Mythical Mage. Her potential astounded even the long-lived elven mage, which was understandable. After all, the little dragon was Abraham and Laplace's daughter. Just her lineage alone would have dumbfounded those that hear it. At any rate, the primary elements of his daughter was three peculiar elements.
It was the Sun, Authority, and Twilight.
Even Abraham questioned whether these three were truly elements, but Althea merely mentioned that as long as they were part of the natural world. They could be considered as elements. Anyhow, the Mythical Mage was as amazing as one would expect. Despite the peculiarity of her elements, it seemed that the elven mage had spells that could be correlated to Tiamat's big three.
Although, sooner or later in the future, she would have to construct and establish spells on her own if she wished to grow. But it shouldn't take too long. After all, Tiamat was a dragon whose manipulation of mana was unrivalled. Like Laplace, it was no less different than an instinct to control the mana in the surroundings.
Abraham had also been busy as he was coerced by his wife to have dates with Mercedes and Charlotte. According to the dragoness, the moment he deflowered them. It was his responsibility to see through the end of the relationship instead of hesitating and buying more time to avoid it. Only a coward would do such thing, so the middle-aged man could only sigh.
With the help of his wife, Abraham had been spending time with the Prime Minister of the United World Government and the Director of the Atlas Conglomerate. Going through dates, spending time with each other, all the while his wife observed from the distance cheering him on with a mere sunglasses covering her face. It was difficult to not feel complicated.
During the second half of the year, Abraham had been busy managing his time with three beautiful women. It was something he needed to get used to, and he hoped that it would stay only three. But it was difficult to deny that he enjoyed spending time with every one of them. Laplace with her teasing nature, Mercedes with her aloof yet straightforward personality, and Charlotte who was graceful, awkward, and smug.
Life was peaceful and enjoyable for the middle-aged man. Having those three and his daughter was enough. He didn't seek power with the intention to conquer the entire world. It was merely to ensure that he could take care of those who dared to conquer the world before him. The tranquility in life was something he considered to be a vital and relaxing part of existence.
However, destiny had something else in store for him. Peace? It seemed that fate considered such a thing to be too much for him, too convenient and delightful. Overseeing his time between three gorgeous ladies was bound to result in something peculiar. It was an inevitability as their relationship grew more intimate by the moment. And there it was. The peculiar had arrived.
1 year after returning from the Typhon Region...
Within a luxurious hotel, Abraham awoken from his slumber and found himself embraced by Laplace, Mercedes, and Charlotte. He didn't have a tinge of clothes on his body, and they too were the same. Memories from the night before surged inside his head. He defended and he fought until the very end. But his lovers... They were life-sucking monsters.
However, as he perceived their satisfied expressions. The middle-aged man couldn't help but release a smile. No matter how much of a life-sucking monsters they were. The three of them were his life-sucking monsters.
"Damn... I thought I was gonna die last night." Abraham muttered under his breath and felt astounded as to how the three could rival his stamina. He remembered the three taking turns, seemingly replenished a few moment after panting their lungs out. He was fortunate to have a great body, otherwise he would have truly died if he was merely a stronger human.
The radiance of the golden sun peered through the curtains, enveloping them with warmth. Once again, he took a breath, fresh and relaxed. He would have to get used to this.
What do you think?
