Netori: I Shall Steal All Of My Enemies' Women For Revenge!

Chapter 233: Fighting To Survive

About Half An Hour Ago

Rin and Chiyo sat in deep silence as the car rolled down the streets. The only sound was the soft hum of the engine, with Chiyo staring tensely out the window.

Rin sighed, breaking the quiet. "Don't be so stiff. I'm not a criminal, you know." She turned on the radio, letting the music fill the awkward space.

Chiyo scoffed. "You kidnapped me. That's already an attempted crime."

"You were too noisy. I couldn't afford problems with the cops."

Rin's voice was casual, but Chiyo could tell she wasn't just being cautious—there was something she didn't want authorities sniffing around.

Chiyo let out a slow breath and shifted in her seat. "Do you… know Haruto well? I mean, you two don't seem like you're the same age, so…"

She was trying to figure out if Rin was another one of Haruto's flings or just an acquaintance. Given how they interacted, she suspected the latter.

"Oh, I met him yesterday," Rin answered nonchalantly, one hand turning the wheel.

Chiyo's eyes widened. "Yesterday? And you already agreed to be my bodyguard?"

"Yeah, we kinda bonded over… fun and thrilling activities."

The absurdity of that answer only made Chiyo more suspicious. "…Which is?"

Rin smirked but didn't elaborate. "You're better off not knowing."

Silence filled the car again, the radio playing faintly in the background.

Chiyo frowned. "You're rude."

She turned her gaze back outside, watching familiar streets come into view—but something felt off.

Her house was up ahead, but… "Do you usually have suspicious black cars parked outside your place?" Rin asked, her voice sharper now, eyes scanning the scene.

Chiyo shook her head slowly. "No."

Three black sedans were stationed near her house. One of them opened, and a bald, tattooed man in a black shirt stepped out, his bandaged hand catching the light.

Rin recognized him immediately—one of the thugs she fought at the Love Kingdom Hotel. And judging by how he suddenly pointed at her car, he recognized her too.

"We need to get out of here. Now." Rin's tone was firm. "Call your family. Tell them not to come home."

"What's happening?" Chiyo's fingers fumbled for her phone, hastily dialing Haruka.

"They're bad news," Rin muttered, keeping her pace steady to avoid suspicion.

But the second the bald man shouted something to his men, Rin cursed under her breath.

"Tch. Bastard."

The men scrambled back into their cars. Tires screeched.

Rin slammed her foot on the gas.

"They're chasing us!" Chiyo gasped, gripping her seat as the car sped forward.

Rin's grip tightened on the wheel. "No shit. Hold on tight."

The moment she hit the gas, the three black sedans followed, their headlights flaring like the eyes of predators locked onto their prey.

Chiyo clutched her seatbelt with white-knuckled fingers, her breath coming out in panicked gasps as her call wasn't answered yet.

Rin's eyes darted between the rearview mirror and the road ahead.

She pushed the jeep harder, the engine growling in protest as they sped through an intersection just as the traffic light switched red.

The first car shot through behind them, while the other two skidded, barely avoiding a collision with a passing truck.

A brief moment of relief—short-lived.

"Hold on," Rin warned, gripping the wheel tightly before yanking it hard to the right.

The tires screeched as they drifted into a side street, barely squeezing between two parked cars.

She straightened the wheel just in time to avoid slamming into a trash bin, sending it flying into the sidewalk instead.

The men weren't far behind.

Chiyo's phone was finally able to connect to Haruka, but she barely registered it. "Can't we lose them?!"

Rin let out a dry chuckle. "I'd love to, but there's three of them, and they're not stupid. They're trying to herd us."

The street ahead narrowed, lined with old buildings and flickering streetlights. Perfect for an ambush.

Rin swerved sharply into another alleyway, cutting through a shortcut she barely remembered.

For a moment, the jeep bounced violently over a pothole, nearly throwing Chiyo forward.

One of the sedans tried to follow but scraped the alley walls, sparks flying as metal screeched against the brick.

The second car made it through, staying hot on its tail.

The first vehicle that had missed the turn suddenly reappeared ahead of them, roaring down an intersecting street.

"Shit!" Rin spat, realizing they were getting boxed in.

If Chiyo was a baddie like her, she might just give her a gun, but that woman was just a softie and pregnant! She couldn't order her to shoot their car's tire.

The moment stretched painfully as she considered her options. To the left—blocked. Behind—gaining fast.

Right—a sharp turn leading to a dead-end construction site.

She had no choice.

"Brace yourself!" she barked.

Chiyo barely had time to yelp before Rin cranked the wheel, sending the jeep veering into the right turn.

The headlights illuminated stacks of steel beams, piles of dirt, and an unfinished overpass.

"Rin, this is a dead end!"

"I know," she gritted out, her mind working overtime. There had to be something, some way out—

The three sedans flooded into the area, their tires kicking up dust as they fanned out, sealing off the exit.

The jeep skidded to a stop, the dust cloud around them swirling like a curtain before the stage of a deadly performance.

Rin's fingers flexed around the wheel as she assessed the situation.

"Shit."

Chiyo's breathing was erratic. "What now?"

The tattooed bald man from earlier stepped out of his car, rolling his shoulders before cracking his neck with a sick grin.

His men followed, each armed with something—bats, pipes, and at least two holding firearms.

Rin let out a sigh, reaching into the back seat and pulling out a pair of pistols fitted with suppressors.

The cold weight was familiar in her hands as she loaded bullets into the chamber. Without hesitation, she tossed one to Chiyo.

Chiyo fumbled with the gun, her hands trembling. "You want me to kill them?! I've never even held a real gun in my life!"

"Darling, do you want us to die?" Rin's voice was flat, her patience wearing thin.

"If I go down, you protect yourself."

She tossed Chiyo her phone. "Call Arataki or Enji. They might actually be useful."

Chiyo gulped, nodding frantically as she dialed. She had already warned Haruka not to come home, grateful that she was still at cram school.

Asuka, on the other hand, wasn't answering—probably busy at work—so she shot her a quick message instead.

The phone rang and rang. No answer.

Outside, the men grew impatient. One of them stormed up to the car and swung his bat, shattering the window.

"Ahhh!" Chiyo screamed, instinctively clutching her stomach in fear, her entire body shaking.

She didn't understand why these men were after them, but right now, all she cared about was keeping herself—and her unborn child—safe.

Rin, however, had no time for panic. The moment the bat connected with her car, she moved.

Her gun fired, the silenced shot striking the man in the leg. He collapsed with a grunt of pain.

Without missing a beat, she kicked the door open, sending him sprawling onto the pavement.

"Stay low, Chiyo," Rin muttered, stepping out. Her gun was raised, her expression cold and deadly.

The fight had just begun.

Rin didn't waste a second. The moment her foot touched the pavement, she moved, her finger pressing the trigger with ease.

A muffled shot. One of the gunmen dropped, a bullet lodged in his shoulder. Another shot.

A man wielding a bat staggered back, clutching his bleeding leg before crashing to the ground with a pained scream.

The rest of the gang scattered, some taking cover behind their cars, others raising their own firearms in panic.

But Rin didn't give them the chance. She advanced, weaving between the parked cars as she fired precise, controlled shots.

Two more men went down. One clutched his thigh, the other his arm, both screaming as they hit the pavement.

Rin kicked their weapons away before they had the chance to recover.

But she was moving slower than usual. Her body was sluggish, her breath coming out in ragged pants.

'Shit… this pain again! Fucking hate this weak body!'

A sharp pain pulsed through her side—her fever hadn't gone down, and the exhaustion from earlier was catching up to her.

'I need to be strong.'

She gritted her teeth, forcing her body to keep up. There were still too many of them.

"Die you bitch, this is what happens to everyone that messes with Red Fang!"

A man lunged at her from the side, swinging a crowbar. Rin barely dodged in time, twisting her body as the weapon grazed past her shoulder.

Ignoring the flare of pain, she brought up her gun and fired, hitting his knee.

He collapsed with a grunt, and she swiftly kicked the crowbar from his hand before stomping down on his wrist.
