Chapter 559 The Rope Burns Through The Flesh
The rope burned through Tariyaan's flesh. He tried to grab it, but as if conscious, the weapon burned through his fingers. Yet, as Raven continued to run the wire through his neck, nothing seemed to happen to the mage even though he was also touching the same weapon.
"EauaghhH!" Pulling all the way through, Raven burned Tariyaan's masked head right off of his body. It flew through the air from the tension that had built up during the tussle, and it hit the floor of his bedroom, a smile crept up Linkle's face.
His body limp in his bed, the devil bled like a pig. As for his head, it rolled on the ground with the mask finally off. Behind it was the face of a man as radiant as any other angel, his eyes were layered with gold, and his lips lined with silver.
"Is that it? Is it done?" Cautiously walking closer to the devil's body, Mel got to her knees and touched his head with her index. Feeling no signs of life, she turned to the witch. "Now what? Is your contract null now?"
"We wouldn't know until we find my body and whether I can get back into it or not," stepping forward, Linkle's eyes remained glued to Tariyaan's head. She, amongst everyone else, expected the fight to be more of a challenge, and yet it was already over. Something about didn't set well, and yet she couldn't help smiling at the fact that he was dead.
Putting Lilith's wire away, Raven pulled himself up on his feet with his body drenched in Tariyaan's blood. The sound of a distant battle was still ringing in his ears, and with Helga nowhere to be found, he decided to take charge again.
"Enough talk. Maria must've found the treasury, but before heading there, we need to reunite with Helga," reminded of Gungnir, he hoped just as the Valkyrie had advised that she didn't have to use it yet. "If she's pinned, using that spear might become necessary, and since we've achieved what we came here for, I don't want to add to our troubles."
Dusting his clothes, the mage began walking towards the exit, leaving the carcass of the primordial behind. Both Mel and Linkle followed his lead, but then came an unexpected surprise. The writhing of flesh, the squirming of pulsing veins, their squeamish sounds echoed behind them. Alerted in an instant, the trio turned, weapon ready in hand.
Looking at Tariyaan's head and the bubbling of his flesh as if it were water in a kettle, they witnessed the devil's eyes bursting like a pimple, and so did the base of his neck. Growing bloody fingers and arms through those holes, his head began to crawl towards the rest of his body, lying in bed.
"Mel!" Wasting not a second, Raven ordered the archer to take the thing out.
Reaching for her quiver, the elf put an arrow to the string and shot it at the head. And although it pierced right through, the head kept crawling towards the bed. Jumping into action, Raven took the wire out of his pocket and was ready to cut through Tariyaan's brain directly, but the moment he got close, the body rose on its own and punched him in the face.
Skidding a few steps before regaining balance, the mage was stunned for a moment before turning his head towards Tariyaan's body. Grabbing the head, it tried to place the head back in its place, but with a lightning arrow shot from Linkle, the head was pierced through the jaws and pinned to the wall at the bed's head.
"SHOOT IT AGAIN!" Conjuring a bow and arrow, both Linkle and Raven steadied their mark. As for Mel, the archer, she wasted no time shooting the head before them both. Unleashing a flurry of arrows not just at the head but also at the body, she filled it with enough holes that it appeared a bear had mauled it.

Further brutalized by a raging lightning arrow as big as Tariyaan's body, Linkle burned what had remained of his flesh, and Raven finished by shooting an arrow made of living dark flesh. Getting into the devil's body, the flesh travelled to his heart and mind and encased it as quickly as possible. Crushing them both under its grip, the flesh quite literally juiced his organs out of all blood.
As they were done, his body and head were nothing but a pile of mush spread across burning bed sheets.
"I'll incinerate the rest of him," Linkle whispered while making her way closer to the burning guts.
Holding firm on their weapons, the other two remained vigilant about any unusual movement. Walking up to the viscera, the witch spread her hand forward and, with a deep breath, began to cast a fire spell. As flames erupted from her palms, however, a hand made of bloodied slime lunged out of the viscera and grabbed her by the hand.
"WHAT THE–" Trying to pull herself away, Linkle tussled with the hand all the while, Tariyaan's body began regenerating from a pile of burning mess.
"MEL!" Raven called out to the archer again, but with Linkle being pulled into Tariyaan's arms, Melicia couldn't risk getting the witch hurt. Recognizing that hesitance, Raven let go of the bow and conjured a pair of blades before leaping forward. "GET AWAY FROM HER YOU FREAK!"
Just as his blade was about to reach the bloody hands of the devil, a loud crashing sound came from the wall right next to him. Glancing sideways at the noise, he noticed a crack appearing in the wall, but with his feet mid-air, Raven couldn't dodge as Libyan's body came flying through the wall.
Getting struck by the Lamian more than fifteen times his weight, the mage was first sent crashing against a drawer, where he hit his head and then was pinned under the weight of the Lamia.
'F-fuck…Mino...Maine, Arche. Get out!' Knowing he couldn't do anything, at least for a good few seconds, Raven let the monster girls out of the bracelet. Having observed everything from the jewel, none of them spared even a moment to start attacking Tariyaan. Arche was the first to use her sharp claws to cut through the man's hand. Jumping in right after, Maine used her tail to pull Linkle away from him. Last was Mino, who summoned an astral minotaur to pin the devil's body to the wall opposite them all.
In a matter of ten seconds, everything had gone to hell. Raven's attack had failed thanks to Libyan crashing against him mid-air, and the monster girls had managed to get Linkle out of the devil's grasp, but the devil was still alive for some reason. Soaking it all in, Raven reached for a potion and although it barely did anything, with Libyan getting off of him, although with great struggle, he managed to slip from under her and focus on the fight again.@@novelbin@@
The first thing he noticed was Helga walking through the crater in the wall that she'd thrown the Lamia through. And with everyone in the same room, Libyan and Tariyaan both became their targets. However, upon hearing an ear-piercing shriek from the primordial, everyone knew who amongst the two had to be a priority.
Giving Helga a quick look, Raven conveyed through their mind link.
'You focus on Libyan; we'll handle the other.' Nodding in response, Helga got ready to tussle some more with the she-devil, and the others did too, but for the primordial devil–and the focal point of this mess.
"Don't give him room to breathe!" And with that declaration from Raven, the entirety of the room, with the exception of Helga, rushed to the regenerating body of the nuisance devil.
What do you think?
