Chapter 569 A Gathering Of Mothers
A summer morning in the everspring and a gathering of mothers had cluttered Aura's house. Gracefully hosting them, however, she didn't quite mind their company. And although their question about her son's whereabouts were troublesome, she simply decided to ignore them on that topic.
Working as a clergyman, Ray had forgotten everything about Aura–but his mother held memories, and unfortunately, most of them weren't quite that good.
"Thanks for the treat, Monty, but why didn't your sister come? We're having a little party today, just the neighborhood moms, ahaha~" But for now, it didn't matter to her as standing before her in the doorway was Monty with an angelic smile. He'd brought her some boxed treats that Lincy had told him to give to their neighbors, and that included Aura and her sister.
"I will let her know, but I doubt she will come. She only likes going out in the winter when her fur doesn't make her sweat as much." Lightly bowing his head, the young boy turned around and took his leave.
Having returned from the hell that was the nameless city, Monty had given up on the shady business as it no longer felt rewarding. After all, if he dies or is ever found out by the Mistress for spying, his fate would be dire, and Lincy would be left to fend for herself. Thus, relying on funds given to him weekly by the 'Phordites, he'd struck a deal to only work for them when absolutely necessary.
Watching the youngster walk away, Aura couldn't help but wish to one day bear a child like him. Eloquent and smart, but most importantly, one who could take care of his family, both physically and emotionally.
"Eyyy, Aura! Are you coming back or not?" Pulled out of her thoughts by Tanya's scream, Aura heaved a frustrated sigh and got back in. Walking to her dining room where her sister was sitting with a pair of mothers and a grandmother, she set the box of treats on the table and lifted the lid. "Is this from that demi-girl? I heard her brother's voice."
"Cookies, and yeah, it's from Lincy."
"That girl that's always hiding in her house until it's winter?" Interjecting the conversation between the sisters, one of the mothers, a deep crimson redhead, asked Aura the question. A cup full of tea in hand, she eyed the only standing member of their little group, waiting patiently for an answer. "She never got me anything, I wonder why she sent it to you guys."
Getting slapped on her arm by the grandmother–who also happened to be her mother- the redhead was interrupted by a surprisingly young-looking older woman. Her eyes sharp as razors, she tried to reel her daughter in with a grunt.
"Don't try to start something, you drama seeker!"
"What?! How am I–"
Getting pinched on the cheeks and pulled in her mother's direction, the redhead squealed with hurt, but the old woman refused to let go until she grew completely quiet.
"Kids these days…" Shaking her head as she finally let go, she was once again interrupted, but instead of her daughter, it was the woman sitting to her left.
"Kids? Hahaha! She's thirty-two, she has kids, she's not a kid herself anymore!" Laughing it off, the woman reached for a cookie, and her curly violet hair slipped to the front. "Jeez, aunty~ you're not young anymore, and neither's your daughter." Experience tales at My Virtual Library Empire
Glaring daggers at her back as her niece leaned forward, the grey haired older woman spanked her butt before giving her retort.
"You're both kids compared to me, and I'm not that old, you idiots! I'm just fifty…fifty…, what was it again?" While her niece squealed in pain from the spanking and caressed her ass while bringing herself back to the chair, the grandmother delved deep in thought, trying to figure out just how old she was.
'Isn't she like sixty?' Glancing the woman up and down, Aura was quite impressed by her young appearance despite being more than twice as old as everyone else. 'The only thing that gives her age away are those heavy breasts and that light sag, that's it. I really hope I age the same and don't turn into an old hag instead.'
"Ahhh! Forget it!" Slamming a fist on the table, the grandmother almost tumbled over every cup. Unaware and unbothered by everyone else's sudden concern, she added. "What were we talking about before this nonsense? Something about marriage, isn't that right?"
Directing a finger at Tanya, the redhead reminded.
"Her marriage. When are you getting married?" To her words, everyone leaned in, curious about what she had to say. Their memories washed by the goddess; nobody remembered her son or her husband. They were merely a fragment of imagination even when they popped inside of Tanya's head.
"Come on, girl. You're getting older, you need to settle down already. I'm sure that's what your mother would've wanted–"
"Our mother wanted a lot of things; it doesn't mean we have to follow her wishes indefinitely…" Aura interrupted, not wanting the group to push her sister into making any sudden decisions.
To her surprise, however, Tanya spoke up with something that she hadn't expected.
"I'm just waiting for the hero to be done with his journey. He promised me we'll get married after that." Eyes blinked blankly to her statement, and although Aura knew she was right, even she was having a hard time digesting the reality of their situation.
Both the sisters wanted to be Raven's wives, but was that promise something the hero would make good on? That remained to be seen. However, the other three did not see it as such, and thus, breaking into a laugh, the younger two almost mocked Tanya for the absurdity of her words. Meanwhile, the older one of the trio stared at the sisters, her hands folded tightly under her sagging breasts.
"Oh really? Now, why would he marry you out of all people?" Her voice tinged with sass; she was expecting something fantastical, but what she got was worse.
"Because he confessed his love to us sisters while fucking us right in this house…" Seeing nothing wrong with what she'd just revealed, Tanya watched the blood drain out of everyone's face. "What? You don't believe me? Ask Aura, then!"
Grabbing Aura's hand, she urged her sister to speak up. Embarrassed by the revelation, Aura simply looked at a random corner. However, with the weight of everyone's eyes on her, she eventually gave in and answered with a nod.
"I-it's true…"
"WHAT?!" Yelped the trio.
Coincidentally, a sudden knock on the front door brought them the subject of their conversation, the goddess's chosen hero.
