Chapter 141: God of Destroyer and a Thousand Divine Swords
Chapter 141: God of Destroyer and a Thousand Divine Swords
Able to burn all three worlds at once, the Sun God’s immense power truly reflected his divine prestige. Yet, that unrivaled prowess was crumbling down.
-W-what’s happening!
The Sun God couldn’t believe his eyes. An unprecedented ashen aura swallowed the flames he’d harnessed over a millennia, spreading like a tumor cell.
-M-my precious flames are being extinguished...?
Since the flames were Sun God’s life, it also meant that his death was approaching.
“Haa, haa!”
The Sun God glared at the two Yu Il-Shins, who were catching their breath.
-I, the almighty Sun God that will reign over all gods, meet my end at the hands of a newborn god?!
The Sun God couldn’t tolerate where this situation was heading. In the past few centuries, he had only ever feared death once.
Before he attained divinity, he was just one of the two suns in the sky, the Fire Shining in the Highest Skies. He had been an arrogant sun since the day he was born.
After all, not only was his sibling a few times smaller, the intensity of his flames were also incomparable to himself. On top of that, other gods didn’t dare to mess with him recklessly, even when Sun God was just a newborn god, known as Sun.
If he was already receiving such treatment before he became a real god, Sun wondered what it’d be like once he attained divinity. Would the rest of the gods submit to him?
-Yes, that’s a given.
Gradually, his delusions turned into conviction. He was convinced he was the noblest of all beings, born to look down upon the world from the highest skies. While he was immersed in his delusions, a fateful encounter happened right before him.
Ruuuuumble!
-...What’s that noise?
A strange noise reverberated in the skies, and the world began to shake.
Riiiip!
-Gasp!
At the same time, the sky tore open, revealing the landscape of another world.
-B-Brother! What on earth is that?! The sky splits open!
His twin was stunned. Always thinking of themselves as the pinnacle and the end of this world, the siblings found the phenomenon incomprehensible.
-Huh?! Brother! Where are you going! It’s too dangerous! Come back!
Despite his twin’s advice, Sun couldn’t contain his seething curiosity. He was unable to suppress his seething curiosity—it turned out there was another world out there!
-So, this is a world beyond our skies...?
To Sun’s disappointment, only a vast, black void of darkness awaited him. It was bizarre, but this world didn’t meet his expectations. A world of nothingness was just pointless.
Sun was about to return to his own world.
Ruuuumble!
Something appeared in the void.
-A...bug?
He saw a lowly bug crawling on the ground, gnawing on the leaves of a tree. No, it was clearly a caterpillar. But its size, it was ridiculously huge!
-N-no way!
The caterpillar’s body was made up of endless huge, dark clouds, filled with shining stars in blue, red, and white. He was in awe of its beauty and splendor. How was this possible?! A whole, majestic universe was in its body!
When he compared himself to this creature, Sun felt ashamed. He felt so proud for watching over everything from a small sky like a child! He suddenly felt like the frog in a well, who’d just met the sea.
-So, this is a true god...
This creature made those self-proclaimed gods look like insects. Having witnessed a true god, Sun’s inner desires burned hotter than his flames. He too, wanted to be a part of this great being, shining beautifully like stars.
-O’ Almighty God! Please accept me as a part of—!
Just as Sun desperately shouted his aspirations...
-Kyaaaak!
A terrible reverberation that could shake the entire universe rang out. His own flames wavered for a few moments. It came from the colorful stars shining from inside it.
Sun saw it then. One of the stars in its body had turned black and disappeared without a trace, creating that grotesque scream he’d just heard! Not only were there many intellectual creatures on that star, there were also divine beings! Yet, all of them couldn’t avoid extinction.
At that moment, the truth dawned on Sun. The phenomenal and beautiful stars were actually being digested, eaten by that being.
-Eeeek!
The awe and admiration he previously held transformed into instant horror. He even thought of burying himself under the ground that he’d looked down upon for the longest of time. Just then, the gargantuan, caterpillar-like being turned to look at Sun God.
Ruuuumble!
Its crimson eyes, dozens of times larger than a planet, stared at Sun as if observing its prey. Then, it opened its mouth wide.
Graaaaah!
Its mouth, reminiscent of a black hole, tugged at Sun. Despite sensing his impending doom, Sun didn’t have the courage to resist. He was nothing but a helpless, insignificant candlelight standing before a typhoon. He only found out later, but that was in fact the symbol of destruction, God of Destroyer, which had existed since the beginning of time. That was its main body before it was split into a hundred pieces.
Shiver!
Sun trembled, waiting for his death.
Graaaaah!
But then, there was a blinding flash of light. It tore apart the world of darkness, striking the God of Destroyer before it could devour Sun.
-Kieeeek!
God of Destroyer let out a horrible scream. At that moment, Sun saw an absurdly huge sword stuck at the brows of the God of Destroyer.
Tzzzz!
The giant sword was likely to be thousands of kilometers long. It emitted white light similar to that of dawn, cutting through the darkness in the void. God of Destroyer stumbled, screaming.
-Ahaha! How did that taste, Worm!
The owner of the gigantic sword appeared.
-Just to slay you, I’ve forged a thousand divine swords, God of Destroyer! Today, you shall be an offering to our Goddess’ grave!
A god, covered in pure white armor, challenged the God of Destroyer with a thousand divine swords.
Ruuumble— Boom!
Graaaah!
The entire universe shook amidst their battle. With every divine sword he had in hand, the White Knight could easily obliterate all planets. Whenever those swords struck the God of Destroyer, it created a huge wound on its ginormous body, shattering it.
Yet, the God of Destroyer was the final victor.
-Damn...it...worm. Just you wait. I might have lost today, but I will definitely be ba—Aaargh!
God of Destroyer coughed up black flames, melting the White Knight and his divine swords. That was the last that Sun had seen of him, before he fled back into his own world.
-Brother! Thank goodness you’re safe!
His twin greeted him with delight.
However, Sun God was far too traumatized from his encounter.
Tremble!
-Brother?
Immense fear washed over him, and his flames flickered as if they were about to be extinguished. There was another, higher being than themselves. Compared to the great gods, they were mere insects. He had to accumulate power. He had to become the god among gods so that no one would dare to approach him.
For that to happen, he needed sacrifices to grow his flames and heat.
-B-Brother? W-what’s wrong with you?
Sun opened his mouth at his own twin.
-My precious twin, born on the same day and hour. I think it’s time for us to be one.
-W-what? B-brother, wait! Wa—aaaargh!
Gulp!
Thus, his own twin brother became his first sacrifice.
***
The Sun God was resentful. Despite having devoured his own twin, he had been reduced into this state!
“Huff puff!”
His eyes reflected the two Yu Il-Shins, who’d attacked him by unleashing all of their divine powers.
He was held back by these young fringe gods that easily? He refused to admit it!
-I’m Sun God! The noblest of beings in this whole universe!
Even though Sun God was slowly turning ashen, sparks soared like erupting volcanoes.
-Even if it costs me all my power, I’ll take your world down with me!
A huge flame reminiscent of a phoenix appeared in the skies.
-Kyaaaak!
The fiery bird head opened its beak, crying out with malice.
The sun was the father of all creations, while the sunlight fed and grew all living things. Yet, that very same sun only harbored malice, turning into a brutal murderer.
Despite being weakened by the combined attack, he could still make his descent and burn down earth.
-Try stopping me if you can, Fringe God!
“Dang it! Stop it, you fucking Birdhead!”
Malevolent God Yu Il-Shin leaped from the temple in the sky. He landed on the Birdhead without a care, striking him with his sword.
Woooong!
Before, the Water Goddess shot an arrow containing all her divine power at his head, trying to extinguish his flames. Yet, it didn’t even slow him down.
-Mwahahaha! It's no use! I'm still going to burn all of you down!
Along with Birdhead’s maniacal cry, he made his descent on Earth. Yu Il-Shin's Alter Ego yelled at himself as he stood stunned on the ground.
“Goddammit! Stop spacing out and do something, you idiot!”
Deep down, his Alter Ego also knew. After exhausting all their divine power, there was nothing else they could do.
Meanwhile, the Yu Il-Shin on Earth was watching.
Ding!
[The innate power Blind Eyes of God has been activated.]
The distant past witnessed by the Sun God, the battle between the Goddess of Justice’s apostle and the God of Destroyer.
Woooong!
Watching the same scene as him, Demon Lord in his hand resonated.
-What a disgrace.
The self-proclaimed Sword God got defeated so easily. Still, despite fighting a losing battle, he still stood against the incorrigible God of Destroyer. He was truly worthy of the title Sword God.
Every strike of his sword inflicted a wound equivalent to crushing a planet on the gargantuan God of Destroyer.
Demon Lord lamented. For someone with such a high level of martial arts to disappear without leaving a legacy, such a shame it was! @@novelbin@@
Yu Il-Shin suddenly mumbled, “...The four Kalpa mentioned in Buddhism consisted of formation, continuance, decline, and disintegration, where only destruction remains.”
Demon Lord was struck in horror.
-Y-you! Did you just?
It was the incomplete stance he had left behind before his passing. Watching the descending fiery bird in a daze, Yu Il-Shin raised Demon Lord.
Sss—
“Demon Lord’s Heavenly Sword, Last Stance...”
An energy appeared on the tip of the kitchen knife. It was neither good nor evil, but chaos. Then, Yu Il-Shin uttered the name of the stance, which not even Sword God himself knew, combining it as one.
“Demon Lord's... Disintegration.”
What do you think?
