Chapter 314: High-Level Units Deployed! The Great Battle Begins! One Slice, One Kill!
Just as Luca was about to say something, the artillery fire, which had calmed down somewhat earlier, suddenly intensified.
At the same time, the expressions of everyone present changed. They could feel the presence of several extremely powerful sources of Demonic energy from the direction of the battlefield—not a few, but dozens!
"It’s high-level monsters making a move!" Quagmire’s smile slowly faded. He tightened his grip on the knife in his hand, while Donlow and Melania furrowed their brows.
These several sources of Demonic energy, converging together, likely represented dozens or even hundreds of monsters. The terrifying aura that gathered from them almost seemed to make the very air change color. Stay updated with NovelBin.Côm
"How could there be so many monsters here? And they’re all high-level!" Tuwnken’s body started to tremble again. As a Silver-grade priest, a single breath from one of those high-level monsters could probably kill him instantly.
"Let’s go, we need to help." Luca said as he began moving forward, a thoughtful expression crossing his face.
If it were a large group of low-level monsters gathering together, it could be understood. But high-level monsters were already intelligent enough not to appear in such large numbers unless they had been commanded by an even higher-level monster.
Could it be the Superclass monster he had sensed earlier? Luca already had a suspicion in his heart, and his sense of caution grew stronger.
The destructive power of a Superclass monster was on a completely different level compared to high-level monsters. If that Superclass monster made its move, with one misstep, all of Leaf City could fall. Though, the situation now was almost as bad as a full-on collapse.
The group quickened their pace and soon reached the front line. Cornbark was still in the command center, continuously issuing orders with several officers. The entire Northern Territory army was now in motion.
Luca raised his eyes and looked beyond the front line, where figures infused with Demonic energy shot toward them like missiles.
He scanned them with a quick glance and recognized several of the monsters, some he had seen before or even killed. There were Crimson Flame Demon Tigers, Emerald Foxes, White Rock Bats, and the Water Serpents, among others.
They were all brimming with Demonic energy, and their overwhelming presence made even the battle-hardened warriors shudder. If these monsters broke through the front line, all the efforts of holding it would have been in vain.
"Open fire! At all costs, we must stop them!" Cornbark’s voice crackled through the intercom. He didn’t care about conserving resources anymore. Grabbing the radio, he shouted in anger.
Hearing the command, the soldiers of the army immediately aimed their weapons at the oncoming high-level monsters. Fire serpents erupted from their barrels, and bullets tore through the air, hitting the high-level monsters. @@novelbin@@
However, none of the shots did any damage. With the defensive strength of these high-level monsters, ordinary firearms couldn’t even breach their defenses.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Tanks rolled in, their cannons roaring as shells soared through the air, crashing into the oncoming monsters. Each round hit its mark, striking the high-level monsters with precision, causing black smoke and flames to erupt in the sky.
Yet, despite the intense artillery barrage, the shells only inflicted minor wounds on a few of the high-level monsters. It was nowhere near enough to stop them, and soon, the monsters reached the front line.
"Get ready!" Luca knew they couldn’t let these monsters break through the defense line. If they did, the consequences would be unthinkable. He quickly handed the little girl, who had been put to sleep by Dreamweaving, over to Timi, then pushed off the ground with all his might. His body shot forward like a bolt of lightning as he charged straight toward the Crimson Flame Demon Tiger.
Quagmire and the others didn’t hesitate either. Drawing their Starseekers, they followed closely behind Luca.
"These guys really are..." Cornbark, watching this scene, was at a loss for words. These weren’t ordinary monsters—these were high-level monsters, and there were at least a hundred of them. To wipe out their entire defense line would be easy for them. These people charging in? They might as well be walking to their deaths.
However, what happened next stunned Cornbark even more.
Luca was the first to charge ahead, and naturally, he was the first to engage with the Crimson Flame Demon Tiger.
"Roar!" The Crimson Flame Demon Tiger, seeing this human charging at it without fear, let out a deep, guttural roar. A torrent of flames gathered in its mouth and suddenly shot out toward Luca.
Luca didn’t dodge or try to evade. His eyes flashed with cold light, and icy blue magic runes swirled in the air, forming an ice shield that blocked the fiery blast.
As they closed the distance, the Crimson Flame Demon Tiger opened its wide maw, filled with sharp fangs, and lunged toward Luca’s neck. At the same time, Luca’s Starseeker came to life.
A brilliant flash of silver-white light cut through the air in an instant, and the fierce, bloodshot eyes of the Crimson Flame Demon Tiger turned vacant. The next moment, from the center of its massive jaws, the monster’s entire head was cleanly severed in two.

Back at the rear of the front line, Cornbark and the soldiers collectively inhaled sharply.
Holy shit, it’s dead?! They stared in disbelief, their eyes wide. This was a high-level monster, not some low-tier creature! And it had been one-shot killed by a single slice?!
Not only were the soldiers in the back stunned, but even Quagmire and the others couldn’t help but inhale sharply in surprise.
"This guy’s power seems to have increased again?" Fuzzsir muttered to himself. "His aura was definitely weaker not long ago... He’s such a strange person."
Melania didn’t say a word. Her bright eyes remained fixed on the figure at the front.
Donlow’s emotions were even more intense, his gaze practically glowing with starlight.
Luca, however, didn’t notice the expressions of those behind him. Even if he had, he likely wouldn’t have cared.
After the Crimson Flame Demon Tiger was slain, Luca didn’t pause for a moment. His body flickered, and in the blink of an eye, he appeared next to the cautiously watching Water Serpent, his blade once again swinging fiercely down.
Pshhh! Black blood erupted like a fountain, and a grotesque serpent’s head was sent flying through the air.

A golden light suddenly flashed around Luca, and his level rose to 51.
Earlier, during his time in Celephais, he had taken the opportunity to complete the Awakening Trial, which was much easier than the one in the Eternal World. The boss guarding the trial had been defeated with a single strike that drained its health bar in one go.
Meanwhile, Quagmire, Donlow, and the others had also positioned themselves in front of the charging high-level monsters. Without a word, they launched their attacks with deadly intent.
Quagmire’s blood energy flared like flames, and he charged at a massive black mammoth, his body moving like a meteor. The mammoth’s curled trunk lashed out like a whip toward him, but Quagmire easily dodged. With a swift motion, he slashed his long sword, leaving a deep gash across the mammoth’s body.
Donlow and Melania teamed up against a high-level monster—a two-headed leopard. Lightning arcs shot toward them, but the pair dodged with ease.
Donlow moved swiftly, closing the distance. White mist appeared around his pale fists, and with a single punch, he struck the two-headed leopard in the abdomen.
The leopard’s two heads widened their eyes in shock as its body was sent flying into the air. Melania, seemingly appearing from nowhere, was already behind the monster.
The dagger in Melania’s hand gleamed with a ghostly green light as she struck fiercely at the two-headed leopard’s neck. Although she didn’t sever its head, the blow still inflicted a devastating wound.
It’s worth noting that Fuzzsir, in his usual laid-back manner, casually strolled toward the outer edge of the battlefield. As the tidal wave of ordinary monsters charged at him, he raised his black skull staff, causing it to glow. He then gently tapped the ground with it.
Whumm! A massive magical array materialized before the frontlines. Waves of death energy poured into the corpses of the fallen monsters. The next moment, those dead monsters suddenly staggered to their feet, their gray-white eyes fixing on their living kin. In the blink of an eye, there were thousands of them.
Superclass Necromancy—Resurrection of the Dead!
"Go, kill them all." Fuzzsir pointed toward the advancing horde of monsters and gave orders to the thousands of undead creatures.
In an instant, the undead’s eyes ignited with eerie blue flames as they marched forward and collided with their living counterparts.
Despite being outnumbered, the most terrifying aspect of these monsters was their utter disregard for fatigue or pain. Even if reduced to bones, they could rise again and keep fighting, making them a formidable nuisance.
The soldiers who saw this sudden addition of allies were left dumbfounded. Especially the players from Eternal Game, who now felt as though they weren’t even playing the same game as the enemy.
As the fighting began, the humans quickly gained the upper hand. Though their physical strength didn’t compare to that of the monsters, their advantages were clear—agile bodies and sharp minds.
This sight gave Cornbark a renewed sense of hope. Muttering to himself, he said, "As expected of the Morning Star team! Drumph, I’ll never criticize you again!"
Coming to his senses, Cornbark immediately grabbed the communicator and issued orders: "Everyone, immediately focus on attacking the other monsters! We need to hold them off and buy more time for the Morning Star team!"
The soldiers, following the orders, began to fire at the surrounding monsters. They weren’t aiming to kill, only to hit their targets.
While their powerful gunfire didn’t deal any real damage to the high-level monsters, it did succeed in slowing them down. At the same time, many monsters became enraged by the attacks.
ROAR!! A three-headed demon wolf, its body engulfed in black flames, let out a furious roar. The flames around it swelled violently, and then black meteor-like fireballs began falling from the sky, heading straight for the soldiers armed with machine guns.
On another side, a high-level water element Elf suddenly rose into the air. Water guns, as sharp as arrows, began to condense in the sky, then rained down upon the soldiers like a torrential downpour!
"Get out of the way!!" Cornbark’s eyes turned red as he tried to warn the soldiers to dodge.
But it was already too late. Other monsters had also begun their attacks.
Skills of all kinds—fire, ice, poison—came crashing down on them from all directions, and even Cornbark found himself caught in the storm of attacks.
In that instant, everyone felt a sense of hopelessness.
What do you think?
