Online Game: I Started with Max Charisma and Caught the Goddess's Eye

Chapter 340: You seem surprised that I’m alive? Bind me up quickly! Another large monster horde appears!

"This is impossible…" Lightless's face turned pale in an instant. Especially when he saw that Luca was standing there, perfectly calm and at ease, alongside the black-clad individuals. His mind went blank.

Luca had come out, but not a single member of the James Family had. These were all people from the Imperial Capital's James Family. If word of this got back to the Imperial Capital, none of them would be able to escape.

Just the thought of it made Lightless's scalp tingle with dread. Continue your journey at My Virtual Library Empire

"You seem surprised? Did you think we weren't supposed to come out alive?" A calm voice suddenly sounded in his ear, making Lightless jump.

He turned to look, and there stood Luca, his gaze serene as he fixed his eyes on him. Just that one glance made Lightless feel a cold wave of terror wash over him. The events of earlier came rushing back into his mind.

"I already gave you all a chance to live…" Luca walked toward him, drawing out Starseeker with an indifferent expression. "But it looks like you didn't appreciate it."

"I... I don't understand what you're saying," Lightless stammered, his steps involuntarily retreating. His teeth chattered, and the fear in his heart spread like wildfire.

At this moment, Halwind and the others had distanced themselves from him, not daring to come any closer, seemingly afraid of being caught up in whatever was about to happen. This only made Lightless curse them silently for being cowardly, life-loving dogs.

Sky James, however, watched with keen interest, not in any hurry to leave. Donlow and Fuzzsir also made no move to intervene, merely observing with cold eyes.

Luca's eyes narrowed slightly. "Before they died, the James Family told me everything. It was you who told them about us being in the node. Now, you're telling me you don't understand?"

Upon hearing this, Lightless's face turned even whiter. The last shred of hope in his heart evaporated instantly.

It was clear now that the situation was hopeless. He knew he was going to die.

With everyone watching him, Lightless gritted his teeth, and suddenly, a ghostly green light burst from his body. He shot forward like an arrow, heading straight for the shelter's exit, ignoring everything else!

"Trying to run?" Luca's voice was cold as he sneered. Lightning arcs surged around his long blade, and silver light flashed beneath his feet. In the blink of an eye, Luca disappeared from his position.

"Did I say you could leave?!" As soon as the words left Luca's mouth, a dazzling silver-white light suddenly flashed in the air.

Pchht! In an instant, Lightless, who had been running for his life, froze in place. His eyes widened in disbelief, and he instinctively reached up to clutch his neck, blood pouring from the wound as though it were flowing from a broken faucet. His head fell from his body and rolled across the ground with a sickening sound.

One strike. Clean and decisive.

Halwind and the others stood frozen, stunned by the sight. They had known that Lightless wouldn't be a match for Luca, but they never imagined that Luca would kill him with such ease. Not even a single move to defend himself—he was dead in an instant.

A chill ran through Sky James.

While his strength surpassed that of Lightless, it wasn't by much. That meant if Luca's blow had landed on him instead, he would most likely meet the same fate as Lightless.

This guy's strength was downright terrifying.

Donlow and Fuzzsir didn't show much reaction; they had already expected Luca's strength and weren't particularly surprised.

The onlookers, however, were stunned at first, and then, one by one, their faces lit up with joy. Some of the younger, prettier girls couldn't hold back their tears, embracing each other in emotional release.

When Lightless had been in charge of the 303 Shelter, they had suffered under his cruel rule. Now, seeing this villain slain, it was easy to imagine how much joy and relief they felt in their hearts.

With Lightless, a traitor of Morning Star, killed, Luca turned his attention to Halwind and the other members of Eastern Territory Morning Star, who were shaking with fear. "Do you want to tie yourselves up, or should I help you with that?" Luca asked coldly.

Lightless may have been a villain, but the people who had served under him weren't much better.

However, their fates would be decided by Morning Star, not Luca. He didn't need to intervene personally; he was confident that Drumph would give them a lesson they would never forget.

Feeling Luca's gaze on them, the group of men shuddered. Not a single one of them dared to resist. Halwind was the first to lower his weapon and, in a trembling voice, ordered the others beside him, "Quick! Tie me up!"

This sight caused Donlow to laugh out loud, though there was a hint of sadness in his heart. He hadn't expected to find such weaklings among the Morning Star.

But this couldn't be helped. When Morning Star had recruited its members, they had prioritized numbers, bringing in many lower-tier people just to expand. They'd have to deal with this problem later when the situation was more stable. Soon, Halwind and the others were bound up, heads lowered, sitting in a neat row on the ground. The scene, with their awkward positions, was almost comical.

Seeing this, Luca nodded in satisfaction and ordered the nearby soldiers to take these people and put them on the carriage. Afterward, he would travel with them to the Morning Star branch in Northern Territory.

At that moment, Sky James approached and said, "Things here are nearly settled. I need to go back now to deal with family matters."

Although the status of Bond James and the others wasn't as high as that of Celephais, Northwood James, and the others, they were all core members of the James Family. Now that all of them had been killed by Luca, the resulting uproar would be just as significant as when Celephais and the others died.

It was now the right time for him to return and carry out the next steps of their plans. There was no more time to waste here.

Luca understood this and saw no reason to keep Sky James here. Just as he was about to mention his own departure for Imperial Capital, he suddenly felt the ground tremble beneath him.

The familiar sensation made Luca's expression change instantly. Before he could say anything, black wings of wind unfurled behind him, and in the blink of an eye, he shot up into the sky. The others, who were about to ask what was happening, immediately felt the ground shaking, as if there were an earthquake, growing more intense by the second. Even the items on the supermarket shelves began to shift.

"What's going on?" everyone asked, confused. Only Donlow and Sky James seemed to realize something, their expressions suddenly darkening. Like Luca, they rose into the air, heading towards the sky.

At this moment, Luca's wings were flapping powerfully, his gaze fixed to the north, his face grim.

As the others followed his gaze, their faces changed in an instant. About several dozen kilometers outside Wind City, a dark cloud was covering the area. Upon closer inspection, it was clear that the cloud was made up of monstrous creatures! Countless monsters were quickly charging in their direction, and the number was so massive it looked like millions. At the front of the swarm was a towering Superclass monster.

A large monster horde! Again, another large monster horde!

"How unlucky can we get?!" Fuzzsir could no longer stay optimistic, and Donlow was at a loss for words.

It was rare for a million-strong monster horde to appear anywhere in the world, and yet, in just a few days, they had encountered two of them. Luca and the others couldn't decide whether this was incredibly bad luck or something else entirely.

"There are no other high-level nodes around here. How could such a large monster horde suddenly appear?" Halwind, who was on the carriage, was utterly stunned. After all, this area's nodes had already been thoroughly explored by them.

The others were even more clueless.

"Order the Eastern Territory people and the soldiers to evacuate the people from 303 Shelter," Luca said, knowing that now was not the time to worry about such things. "We'll go stop these monsters and buy them some time."

"Buy time? Are you joking?" Sky James couldn't help but speak up. "This is a large monster horde—there are at least a million monsters. We don't even know how many Superclass monsters or high-level monsters there are. Staying here is just a death sentence!"

Although Sky James knew that Luca had previously saved Leaf City from a million-strong monster horde, it was clear that their survival had been a stroke of luck. If Tiltant hadn't arrived with reinforcements, Luca and the ten thousand people there would likely have died in Leaf City.

Surely, Luca didn't actually think he could take on a million-strong monster horde head-on, did he? Luca, not in the mood to explain further, replied, "You don't need to worry about it. Aren't you in a hurry to go back? Don't waste time here."

With that, the black wind wings on his back flapped, and he shot off toward the monster horde outside Wind City. Many onlookers were left dumbfounded. They had seen people not afraid of death before, but never anyone this fearless.

"Interesting," Sky James muttered to himself, no longer in a rush to leave. He didn't believe Luca was someone who was seeking death. This curiosity made him even more intrigued—what exactly gave Luca the confidence to act this way?

The monster horde was still some distance away from Wind City. With their strength, escaping wouldn't be too difficult. Sky James glanced around, then decided to find a safe spot to observe.

By now, Luca had already reached the outskirts of Wind City. Watching the monstrous wave of creatures pouring toward him, he furrowed his brow. He had an odd feeling that something was wrong, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

"What should we do now?" Donlow and Fuzzsir had arrived as well. With their experience from Leaf City, they appeared much calmer this time in the face of the monster horde.

Luca refocused, shaking off his doubts. "We just need to find a way to attract the monsters' attention."

Compared to the 100,000 people trapped in Leaf City, getting the people from 303 Shelter to safety would be much easier. As long as they could draw the monster horde away, the evacuation would be safe. Of course, it was easier said than done.

"Attract the monster horde's attention?" Fuzzsir scratched his chin, then suddenly his eyes lit up. He grinned and said, "I have an idea. It's a fun one."

Luca and Donlow exchanged a glance, an inexplicable sense of unease rising in their hearts.
