Chapter 279 252. Martial Soul Night Walk
"Phew, I feel like I've done another good deed today. I really am a great Samaritan, clear-headed and invigorated."
There's always a sense of moral satisfaction after doing a good deed. After hanging up the voice chat, Dorothy felt quite content with herself thinking just that.
She liked people like Miss Phantom who had their own ideals and perseverance; therefore, within her capabilities, she didn't mind lending a hand.
After all, they were just virtual friends on the Magic Network, with no real-life interactions. She didn't have to worry that her actions would bring her any trouble. Why not do a good deed that just involved moving her lips?
But truth be told, this absent-minded Miss finally realized how boring her old-fashioned puppet show was. Who would be interested in those fairy tales we've all heard since childhood these days? Thank heavens, she was finally ready to change styles.
Miss Phantom just mentioned that she was preparing to improve the quality of her puppets, and after upgrading them, she planned to arrange some new operas to perform. However, she lacked confidence and didn't know where to find good scripts, so she consulted with Dorothy, discussing and sharing her thoughts.
If Miss had mentioned this, Dorothy was not at all puzzled; after all, she had raised this chick from scratch. Now that the chick had finally come to her senses and was about to take the right path, Dorothy, as a die-hard fan-mama, naturally wanted to give her a hand. She immediately offered to take care of the script problem, for as a transmigrator, she lacked everything but good scripts.
Copying texts, who couldn't do that?
As a homebody, Dorothy in her previous life had watched countless excellent works. Just pick a few of the most famous ones, tweak them a bit with magic, and that would pretty much suffice.
Of course, there was a big cultural difference between the two worlds; works that were popular in her past life might not catch on here. But they were certainly a lot better than those stale fairy tales the Miss had been telling.
In fact, she herself was quite eager to see traces of her homeland in the Witch World. It would be a kind of homesickness, and with Miss Phantom's ability, she wouldn't disgrace that heritage from home.
Dorothy was quite interested in this matter and decided to make an exception for a while, not caring so much about the distance between the virtual and real worlds. From now on, she could chat more with Miss Phantom.
Alas, it's unavoidable. Even the most reticent people tend to talk more when they find a kindred spirit. And today, for some reason, Miss Phantom seemed to suit her taste exceptionally well, making chatting with her truly delightful.
It's just a pity...
"Sigh, the happy times are always so brief. What comes next won't be as joyful."
Dorothy sighed with some reluctance, turned back to her room, and then lay down on her bed, falling asleep within a second.
From the sleeping body of the homebody witch, an ethereal figure sat up, as if her soul had left her body.
This was the Fairy King Martial Soul. After the main body fell asleep, all of Dorothy's will temporarily transferred to this Incarnation.
"Senior Sister, let's go, sorry to trouble you again."
The Fairy King Dorothy stretched out her hand to tuck the blanket over her physical body, then reached out and took the Masked Senior Sister from her forehead.
It's just...
"Senior Sister, can't you change your style? We're about to head to the Judgment Court, and this is hardly appropriate, is it?"
Looking at senior Fanny, who had once again assumed the guise of a Clown mask, the Home Martial Soul spoke rather helplessly.
"You're so annoying. Shut up and let me be. Right now, I feel like I may not be the Future Fourth King but a Clown instead. Maybe The Third Kings Teacher should never have taken me away from my mothers working at the circus. By now, I could have been the best Clown."
The voice of Masked Senior Sister was filled with a haunting tone as she spoke.
She had yet to recover from witnessing the display of Innate Authority shown by her Master.
Damn, that's Authority, a form of Magic that surpasses Forbidden Curses, an ultimate Strength that, at the very least, only Sages could wield. Even for her, it took a long time to finally grasp her own Authority. So why does this weakling of a Master have it by birthright?
Damn it, wasn't I the one destined to be The Fourth King, the witch with the number one Talent throughout the ages? Why is it what I've worked half a lifetime to achieve is just someone else's starting line?
This is simply outrageous. Innate Authority is a clear mark of one born to be a king. Throughout Magic history, there haven't been more than ten witches with such Talent, and the most bizarre among them are The Third Kings. And the bottom line...
Sage's bottom limit to start.
"Tsk, why do I feel more and more like Dorothy is even more like the King of the Future than I am?"
Thinking how she was born with nothing but magic power, senior Fanny couldn't help but feel somewhat out of place with this person, as if they were from different worlds.
Wuwuwu, the clown turns out to be myself.
Fairy King Dorothy: "..."
Watching senior Fanny acting incomprehensibly, the Home Martial Soul was somewhat speechless.
If it were her original body, she might have actually comforted and consoled senior Fanny, but now she was using the Fairy King's incarnation, and comforting others was not in the Fairy King's dictionary.
Dorothy's consciousness also had words of comfort on the tip of her tongue when she remembered this point, but by then it was too late to shut her mouth. Read exclusive chapters at My Virtual Library Empire
"Um, although I don't know what has happened, but since you want to be a clown, senior, let us become the most glamorous babes in the circus."
So said the Fairy King, and then gently placed the clown mask on her face.
Senior Fanny: "....."
Dorothy: "..."
Damn, what she originally wanted to say was just, "Senior, no matter what happens, as family, I will support you," but after going through the Fairy King's train of thought and translation, though the meaning kind of gets there, why does it seem to have gotten a lot more 'edgy cool'?
Also, so you, Fairy King, actually can speak human after all?@@novelbin@@
And after being stunned for two seconds, senior Fanny also reacted.
"Good one, Dorothy, you dare tease me, you're challenging the majesty of the Witch King, you know you're responsible for these words."
Two small pink tentacles stretched out beside the mask, continuously tapping on Dorothy's head. Fortunately, with the defensive power of the dragon scales all around the Martial Soul Incarnation, the tentacles without magic power could not breach the defense; it only made the Home Martial Soul feel a bit ticklish.
And soon, the tired senior bothered no more. Her two tentacles intertwined, tightly wrapping around Dorothy's head, vaguely resembling the securing strings of a mask.
"Senior, you're squeezing my head."
Dorothy protested, feeling as if her head was being embraced by a facehugger.
"Shut up, talk again and I'll strangle you to death."
Masked Senior Sister said so, rather annoyed.
"Alright then, as long as you're happy."
The Home Martial Soul helplessly shrugged her shoulders and then proceeded to the balcony. She looked back one last time at the position of the door, where across the door was Sophia's room.
Now the Angel Witch was sleeping soundly, but she still had work to do.
"Ah, what is all this, seriously."
With a sigh, the tall dragon maiden with the mask on leaned backward and fell straight off the balcony.
...Home Martial Soul falling from the balcony...
What do you think?
