Otaku Witch

Chapter 592: 443. Failure Mouth Cannon_3

It was just.....

"Still, that won't do."

Adam rejected the Homebody Witch's hopes with a tone that brooked no argument.

"Oh, why? Adam, have you forgotten your dream of being a hero?"

Dorothy was a bit stunned; she became anxious.

"Of course, I haven't forgotten, not even for a moment, but Dorothy, there are things that are greater than dreams."

Father looked at his daughter before him and then spoke.

"Before a Dream Chaser, I am first and foremost your father, Dorothy. The families of heroes are seldom fortunate."

Dorothy: "....."

The Homebody Witch was silent for a moment, then sighed in her heart.

She understood that her old father had ultimately been "Worn and Torn," and that he had willingly allowed himself to be "Worn and Torn."

No wonder such a talented man never became a hero.

The idyllic home is a hero's grave; therein lies not just beauty but also family.

Although Dorothy completely agreed with Adam's philosophy—after all, as a homebody witch, she had never aspired to be a hero, and she voluntarily indulged in the comforts of home—the problem now was, with you, Father, having said all this, how could I get through Witch's Night?

At that moment, Dorothy was really upset. Logically, she shouldn't care about the thoughts of the past phantoms in the replay of Witch's Night, as they were just NPCs after all, but some people, even though you know they are NPCs, you still can't be devoid of emotion.

The Homebody Witch sighed and did not try to persuade Adam any further; she knew she couldn't convince her stubborn old father, and so father and daughter parted on bad terms.

And just as Dorothy was feeling gloomy at the door, a figure came to her side.

"How did it go, couldn't persuade Reverend Father?"

Denisha asked.

"Yes, he's too stubborn."

Dorothy looked up at Denisha and then answered somewhat despondently.

"Reverend Father just loves you more, Dorothy. You should know that most heroes are truly lonely."

Denisha, however, looked up, gazing at the star-filled night sky, then raised her hand as if trying to grasp those stars.

"Heroes rarely have happy endings; they eventually have everything, but that everything often doesn't include what they truly desire because what they ardently desire is often the perfect sacrifice for obtaining the power to become a hero."

"Dorothy, usually only those who have lost everything can become heroes, because they are free of taboos and fearless, having nothing left to lose."

Miss Shepherdess turned her head to look at her sister, her eyes as dark as the night sky seemed to truly hold the entire cosmos within them.

"I think you should listen to Father. However, your doctrine that 'man can conquer Heaven' is interesting. I promised to help you before, so let me handle it, since I have no family left anyway."

Denisha turned around and said with a slight smile.

At that moment, the Homebody Witch's special Inspiration could clearly sense an anomaly in the form of a formidable, indescribable presence slowly awakening within the body of her good sister.

She knew that the person standing by her side was not any mortal shepherdess, but a being more noble and sublime than the entire world itself.

But.....

"Get lost, what do you mean no family? Adam and I are still alive; don't curse us."

Dorothy raised her leg and gave Denisha a kick in the rear, then said shaking with cold anger.

Denisha: "???"

At that moment, the will of the nearly fully awakened sublime presence seemed to freeze momentarily as well, and even space-time seemed to come to a brief stop, but eventually, everything returned to tranquility.

And Dorothy was sweating coldly behind her back, now comprehending what she had just done, but it was not really intentional; her body just acted before her mind could follow.

This was truly just her instinct as a Family Knight.

Yes, that was definitely it, not an excuse at all.

"Anyway, time to sleep, good night, Denisha, let's keep at it together tomorrow."

Leaving those words behind, the Homebody Witch made her quick escape.

Only leaving Miss Shepherdess standing there stunned, after a long while, she sighed, then looked up at the stars again.

"Mother Superior, why must you do this? Do you really think that little one can resolve my wear and tear? She is just a semblance, after all. But no matter, it's just a big dream anyway, quite an interesting one though."

The cool night breeze carried these ambiguous words, making Denisha shiver, and then Miss Shepherdess, a bit puzzled, looked around.

She sneezed and then, realizing, wrapped her clothes tightly around her and went back inside to sleep as well.

In the dark night sky, only the bright Silver Moon gently scattered moonlight onto the earth, illuminating everything brightly.

As it has always been from ages past.

...The witch sleeping...
