Otaku Witch

Chapter 650: 467. New grudges and old hatreds

On the other side, Dorothy looked at her Deadly Poison Bombing that had no effect and also felt somewhat regretful.

Thinking of closing the absolute strength gap between them and the Church within just five short months seemed rather far-fetched. Although she possessed some skills, she was ultimately not an Omniscient and Omnipotent deity, so from the beginning, she never thought of a direct confrontation but instead resorted to some underhanded tactics.

The reason snakes occupy a high position in the biological food chain is their deadly venom, which is a powerful one-for-one trade.

Now, as a Potion Master who made her name through Magic Potions, it was only reasonable for Dorothy to use poison.

Although it was challenging to poison beings of faith such as angels, it wasn't a problem for Dorothy; after all, poison isn't so inconvenient, is it?

Even computer programs can get viruses, so why can't beings of faith get poisoned?

In fact, as long as the nature of the beings of faith is understood, poisoning them is quite simple. What is faith afraid of? It fears the corruption of Original Sin. Therefore, by creating a Magic Potion that could carry the poison of Original Sin, poisoning the angels wasn't such a difficult task.

Unfortunately, research time was still short; the Original Sin Poison had just been updated to version 3.0. Its toxicity was sufficient, but the method of dissemination still lacked enough Skill Points; for now, it could only poison through contact.

She had mixed this Magic Potion into the bombardment of the Mechanical Puppets, hoping to catch the Church by surprise. However, Lady Sophia was truly impeccable in her actions and even managed to prevent that.

In the eyes of others, the Student Council President Sophia always appeared so strong and confident, beautiful and composed, seemingly perfect. However, Dorothy, sharing a roof with her as a roommate, knew that this perfect persona was just a facade. The real Pure White Witch was actually a hardworking but cautious, timid and self-conscious individual, even a bit paranoid, who never dared to share her heart with others.

This woman trusted no one except herself, not even her mother or herself; Sophia had never truly trusted anyone.

The only difference was, if others betrayed her, she would angrily retaliate, but if her mother and she betrayed her, this woman would reluctantly accept the fact with a resigned attitude, then secretly cry and wipe away her tears alone.

In short, she was a very odd person.

Look at how sweetly she calls her 'Miss' every day, acting as if she's completely loyal to Miss, but in reality, look at Sophia now, with her thief-preventing stance, even guarding against the smoke of bombing, you can imagine how low she regards the image of her 'Miss' in her heart.

I'm like that despicable person who would poison in the smoke...

Cough cough, it seems I actually am.

Damn, this woman is really good at reading people.

Forget it, if soft approach doesn't work, then let's try it the hard way, today let's go for a forceful approach, the Eight Trigrams Formation starts turning.

Grinding her teeth, Dorothy shifted her thought, and just then, the Mechanical Puppet Army sheathed their useless artillery, each switching to melee mode, brandishing daggers smeared with the poison of Original Sin.

My daggers are smeared with deadly poison, lick...

Although the homebody witch maintained a smile and calm demeanor to keep up appearances, the Mechanical Puppets she controlled even had their mechanical tongues lick the dagger blades, displaying a sinister look.

Soon, these Mechanical Puppets, stepping with agile pacing, just disappeared into thin air under the broad daylight.

"Invisibility?"

Seeing this, the Church's army felt uneasy and immediately, several Clerics stepped forward to cast Anti-Invisibility Divine Art. Their Divine Arts appeared to work, yet no Puppets were revealed.

As the divine arts of mortal Clerics failed to work, a Low-ranking Angel among them stepped forth, casting higher-order Anti-Invisibility Divine Arts, which still proved futile.

"It's not invisibility but a Maze Formation. They are still here; we just can't see them anymore. Lady Sophia, please be very careful. The most terrifying aspect of the Eight Trigrams Formation is its bewildering effect, which can confuse those within the Formation's perception and even the concepts of space and time. If you act rashly, you might even run onto their blades."

Michael promptly reported what he knew to Sophia upon seeing this.

Since she had just been toyed with by the Eight Trigrams Formation, where even four of her wise Angels didn't see how they were killed, no one understood the terror of the Eight Trigrams Formation better than her now.

"But if we don't move, how then shall we break the Formation?"

Sophia acknowledged Michael's words with a nod and then countered.

Miss Seraph: "....."

Michael fell silent again.

Break the Formation? If she knew how to do that, would she have been so badly beaten?

The most disgusting part of the Eight Trigrams Formation lies here; if you move erratically within the Formation, you might get bewitched and run headlong into the enemy's arms, seeking your own death.

But if you hesitate and stay in place, then you can't break the Formation, and prolonged high alertness will eventually wear you down. Once your energy dips, and the enemy attacks again, it's still a death, only a slow one at that.
