Otherworldly Desert Dust

Chapter 244 - 200: Dying Once is Harmful to the Body

The physical body, vanished in an instant!

The soul, however, was frozen beyond the curtain of death, and out sprang a Witch Dragon, biting towards the Purple Emperor Butterfly!

The Purple Emperor Butterfly was also utterly perplexed by this.

No creature would knowingly rush towards the purple death curtain, aware it would bring certain demise, especially when, even when facing a thousand tyrant tiger armors, a human could survive for just a while...

It was this confusion that caused the Purple Emperor Butterfly to react a fraction slower.

A dark and gaping maw of the dragon was already within striking distance, its wings twisting in an attempt to dodge.

But the right wing was still caught in a bite, soon followed by being devoured and digested at a terrifying speed!

In an instant, the Death Omen Yuan You lost a large portion of its wing, and by the time it realized what happened, its energy had been absorbed by the unknown soul entity.

A thousand tyrant tiger armors stood in the Red Palace, their eyes, too, fixating on Wu Hen.

Yet upon touching the purple death curtain, Wu Hen vanished, leaving not even a piece of flesh behind.

However, a wisp of his soul was enshrouded by some mysterious energy, allowing it to escape from this place in an incredible manner!

The Purple Emperor Butterfly was enraged, emitting a near-crazed shriek!

A large chunk of its wings had been torn away!

That was an essential part of its Death Omen Yuan You.

What was most devastating to it was that although the physical body of the adversary was destroyed, his True Soul was protected by the Nuwa God End, which was now summoning his soul back, along with the Black Void Soul that had bitten it!

The death curtain was powerful and insoluble; any life stepping into it would be extinguished, such was the law of the Death Omen Yuan You.

When its law of certain death collided with that of Nuwa God End, the Purple Emperor Butterfly couldn’t predict the consequences.

But the reality proved that the adversary’s True Soul had already fled!

The powerful summoning law of Nuwa God End allowed its subjects to abandon their physical bodies and hosts, to dwell in its essence as souls, even if such digital lives bereft of real bodies in the Otherworldly Dust were pitiable and insignificant; yet one must admit that modest lives possess their own remarkable ways of survival! Purple liquid, like blood, flowed out from half of the Purple Emperor Butterfly’s body, and suddenly, the entire Red Palace was shrouded in dead silence; thousands of tyrant tiger armors even halted their breath, watching fearfully the emperor that had been grievously wounded by the wolf’s bite...

Just then, a commotion arose from beyond the Silver Dome’s vast land.

Spiritual Energy of various hues surged at the fringes of the land, visible were the forces belonging to different civilized bloodlines from Red Port arriving here, their eyes, like Wu Hen’s, glittering with greed.

"Humans!"

"To be annihilated!"

The Purple Emperor Butterfly issued a cold command, intending to vent all its fury upon the other humans.

Nearly a thousand tyrant tiger armors simultaneously spread their wings, locking their gaze on the troops from Red Port’s Human Clan Force.

Originally, all it took was for the Purple Emperor Butterfly and the tyrant tiger armors to implant fear into Wu Hen, and the signal of death would spread like a mold virus, affecting any force sent by Red Port...

Yet unexpectedly, the fear did not spread to other humans; however, the humiliation and anger of the Purple Emperor Butterfly were transmitted to all the tyrant tiger armors.

Each of the tyrant tiger armors took to the sky like fiery meteorites, their radiance turning the extremely cold Dark Domain into a blazing fire universe, their violent Spiritual Energy forming a fearsome solar wind, sweeping across Insect Island!

...

Silver Dome City.

In a tri-level cottage beneath the coastal mountain forest park, a young man wearing a Virtual Iris awoke from his slumber.

Outside the house, the savory aroma of fried fish wafted in. Half groggy and half awake, Wu Hen felt ravenous. The heated battle, life-or-death decisions, and the consumption of life he had experienced seemed like a vivid dream, which Wu Hen was rapidly pushing to the back of his mind.

"Awake already?"

Yu Yi was somewhat surprised to see her son sniffing the air for the smell of fish like a stray tomcat that had wandered home.

Wu Hen, sitting at the dining table, was the epitome of a starving ghost reincarnated.

As he ate, the events that had occurred before started flooding into Wu Hen’s mind.

Not until his stomach felt satisfied did Wu Hen finally let out a long sigh of relief...

"You look so weary. If it’s too hard out there, come home and rest. I’ve heard that wandering for too long can make you lose your way," Yu Yi said from the side, her concern evident in her voice.

"It’s nothing. I just died out there," Wu Hen said with a giggle.

"Oh dear, death is just death, after all. There’s really no need to put too much pressure on yourself..." Yu Yi started to counsel Wu Hen subconsciously, hoping he wouldn’t always be absent from home, toiling away outside, and that he would remember to rest.

But as she spoke, Yu Yi began to sense that something was amiss.

Her eyebrows knitted together, her expression shifting from confusion to astonishment.

"What did you just say?" Yu Yi asked.

"I died... Hmm, if Nuwa intends to recreate my body, it might take some time. I suppose I could spend these days at home with you and old dad," Wu Hen said.

Yu Yi was completely flabbergasted!

Died??

Truth be told, she couldn’t quite wrap her head around this intricate issue of life for the moment.

"It’s okay. Nuwa God End gave me a chance at resurrection. You see, I’m sitting here just fine, right? Just think of it as though I was playing a virtual game, and I lost a life in the game. Now I’ve been forcibly logged out to rest," Wu Hen explained.

As he explained this, a real little greedy dragon wriggled out from Wu Hen’s body and upon seeing the plates of fried fish on the table, it clambered onto the table and began devouring them bite by bite.

Yu Yi saw Little Yi for the first time and, after an initial startle, began to study the little dragon more carefully.

Even without an introduction from Wu Hen, Yu Yi guessed that her son’s ability to traverse the Otherworldly Dust was largely due to this fearless little dragon. @@novelbin@@

"How did it go, did you manage to get a bite of Peach?" Wu Hen asked.

"Yuu~" Little Yi savored the food while waggling its tail.

Its tail was no longer covered with black scales; instead, the entire tail took on a dark ethereal purple, looking unreal and dreamlike in its beauty.

"You succeeded??" Wu Hen asked excitedly.

Little Yi nodded. Although it only nibbled half a wing, the Death Omen Yuan You Energy it had absorbed was already abundant. Soon it would evolve and manifest the Death Omen Divine Power.

Furthermore, Little Yi had good news to share with Wu Hen: after evolving the Death Omen Ability, the Purple Death Curtain would no longer pose a threat to Wu Hen.

"We can’t beat a thousand tyrant tiger armor," Wu Hen admitted.

"But we can figure out a way to steal, and if we manage to take the remaining half, our great feat will be accomplished!"

Wu Hen and Little Yi discussed their new plan while heartily enjoying their plates.

Having just survived an ordeal, it was indeed time to eat and grow stronger!

Yu Yi, unaware of the grand schemes the man and dragon were plotting, saw several plates that would have been more than enough to feed pigs emptied, so she had no choice but to continue to the kitchen to feed them!

They say dying once really takes a toll on the body, so they truly needed to eat a lot more!
