Chapter 10: Yggdrasil VIII

The remaining evil lord was standing on the charred ground. It was able to withstand my attacks due to its high Magic Defence. I had already wasted a lot of MP and HP recovery potions on this fight, and I needed to save those for the boss.

I had 92 points in MP and 90 in Magic Attack, followed by 80 in Magic and Physical Defence. I had 15 spare state points. I added 5 points in Magic Attack, 4 points in MP, 3 in Magic Defence, and 3 in Physical Defence.

I then used another 10th-tier spell with a very high MP consumption.

'*Maximize Magic: Reality Negation*.'

This was one of my trump cards; it creates a black-colored wave traveling outwards. This wave can nullify a single chosen concept; that is decided by the caster at the time of casting.

There are certain conditions for its casting; the caster needs to sustain a set amount of damage before the activation, and it takes 70% of the total MP of the caster. It also has a cooldown of one hour.

If the target doesn't possess a World Item, this spell will kill them if the correct concept is chosen. I chose to negate the Magical Defence of the evil lord.

As I selected Magic Defense, this spell gained the ability to inflict dagame upon the evil lord. The damage depended on my Magical Attack.

As the wave struck the evil lord, it passed through the shield it conjured. After a few seconds, I received the kill confirmation.

I was shocked looking at the level of the evil king. If one of the mini-bosses was at level 100. The realization that a mini-boss had already reached level 100 hinted at the likelihood that the impending boss could surpass even that threshold.

Without wasting time, I added 3 state points to my MP and the remaining to my Magic Attack. I took out 2 rings and a wand from my inventory.

I didn't use any accessories earlier due to my commitment to fulfilling a particular condition; essential for wielding a distinctive and specialized wand.

The condition was to reach level 100 with a mage-type character build without using any wand or other accessories.

Yet, I understood that defeating the dungeon's bosses would be a difficult task without the assistance of a wand or other accessories.

'I can make a better wand in the future, though it will take time.'

The strange thing about the booses was; if they killed me, I had to redo all the nine dungeons again to challenge them.

So, I ultimately decided to use accessories for the boss fight.

'I could also use 'Ouroboros' to remove the condition from that wand.'

But finding 'Ouroboros' was a task in itself. After every use, it was teleported to a random location in any of the nine realms of Yggdrasil. The exact location was not stored in the servers; only the realm information was stored.

Finding the Ouroboros was tough, but System was trying to access to files of the Yggdrasil without attracting attention. Even though I created the System when I had strong abilities, it still knows some powerful skills. However, it's linked to me, and now I'm just a regular human with no supernatural energy.

Consequently, its processing power also dropped. If I had been strong, the System could have directly put my desired character data into the Yggdrasil servers. But, even with its nerfed power, it prevented the game developers from noticing me.

I quickly wore the rings on my fingers. One of them was an exquisite silver ring adorned with intricate engravings of arcane symbols; it had a red gem on the top. The other one was golden and looked almost the same, but it had a blue gem instead of red.

The rings and the wand were Relic Class items.

Items in Yggdrasil were divided into different classes. Starting from Low-Class Items all the way to World Items.

The classes went like this;

At the current stage of the game, no one had Divine-Class items, and Momonga wasn't an exception. The majority of the players had Top-Class items. He bought these rings from the cash shop.

Momonga wanted to make his next character build geared toward crafting so that he could make items for himself.

One buffed my Physical Attack, HP, and agility, while the other augmented my MP and Magical Attack. They also provided increased MP regeneration.

I made my preparations, and I looked toward the remaining two graves. I created some distance between myself and the graves.

After waiting for a few seconds, both exploded, sending debris around. As the smoke from the explosion cleared, two humanoid figures could be seen floating over the graves. One was male, while the other one was female.

The male demon had chiseled obsidian skin and sinewy muscles, his crimson eyes gleamed with malice, and two charcoal-hued horns curled upward from his forehead.

Jagged, onyx wings sprouted from his back, while his clawed hands and feet added to his fierce appearance. He wore light armor and had a shining obsidian sword in his right hand.

The female demon had an alluring yet slightly menacing aura. Her raven-black hair flowed down her lithe form, and her sapphire eyes held a captivating gaze.

Delicate obsidian horns crowned her head, framing her distinct features. Ebony wings extended from her back, and her slender fingers had pointed claws, hinting at her dangerous side. She wore light clothing and had a wand in her right hand.

'The male demon exhibits clear traits of both a fighter and a mage, while the female demon primarily displays magical capabilities.'

The male demon wasted no time, his obsidian blade slashing through the air with supernatural speed. I barely managed to dodge the brunt of the attack, but the blade grazed my arm.

'*Boost Maximize Magic: Deflective Ward*.'

[MP: 109 -> 105]

Undeterred, the male demon lunged forward, his sword engulfed in fire. I used a 9th-tier spell, sending a controlled explosion in his direction, forcing him to momentarily halt.

'*Boost Maximize Magic: Explosive Nova*.'

[MP: 105 -> 100]

The female demon seized this opportunity; she pointed her wand toward me and cast another spell.

A torrent of fire rushed toward me. Because I was busy with the male demon, I wasn't able to put any defense against the spell, and the torrent engulfed me.

The difference between the levels was now becoming more apparent. My strategy against them was to reduce their HP as much as possible before using a Super Tier spell.

I pointed my wand toward the male demon and cast a 10th-tier spell.

'*Maximize Magic: Ethereal Grasp*'

[MP: 100 -> 90]

A hand made of a translucent material manifested under the male demon and grasped him. Rendering him unable to move. From the start of the fight, he had been attacking me with his sword imbued with magic. Strengthening my belief; he could not use long-range spells.

"You stay there for a little while."

I then pointed my wand toward the female demon and used another 10th-tier spell.

'*Maximize Magic: Dark Matter Beam*.'

[MP: 90 -> 82]

A black-colored beam shot out of my wand toward the female demon; she conjured a shield to stop the beam.

Her shield was able to stop it. After our spells ended, I quickly cast it again.

'*Maximize Triplet Extend Magic: Dark Matter Beam*.'

[MP: 82 -> 70]

Three black beams shot out of my wand and attacked her. She managed to stop one, but the remaining struck her sending her backward.

The male demon had already managed to break the grasp and was lunging toward me with his sword engulfed in myriad colors.

I used a 10th-tier spell to stop his sword.

'*Maximize Triplet Magic: Void Shield*.'

Three black shields manifested around me. The sword passed through them and struck me with full power, making me fly backward.

[HP: 76 -> 40]

The female demon didn't let the chance go to waste and attacked me with a black bolt.

[HP: 40 -> 29]

'Shit! He shouldn't be able to activate that skill again.'

I quickly drank a high-level potion HP recovery potion.

[HP: 29 -> 54]

[HP: 54 -> 79]

'Let's end this farce.'

I had 70 MP, meaning I could use my final trump card; before using a Super Tier spell.

'*Maximize Extend Widen Magic: Void Eruption*.'

[MP: 70 -> 0]

Numerous rifts materialized in close proximity to the demons, forcefully drawing them into their ominous depths. After a brief interval, the demons were expelled from them, just to be swiftly ensnared by a fresh tear that emerged moments later. This spell dealt none-type damage.

During this, the enemies couldn't teleport or move around.

I quickly took the cash shop item 'Hour Glass.' It reduces the casting time for Super Tier Magic to zero.

I held the 'Hour Glass' in my right hand. And started casting the Super Tier spell I wanted.

Multiple massive magic circles formed above my head, circling around each other.

'I hope that did enough damage.'

After about 15 seconds, the *Void Eruption* spell ended. And I immediately broke the 'Hour Glass' and activated the Super Tier Magic.

"*SUPER TIER SPELL: Void Obliteration*."

A rift was torn open to the void, releasing a surge of energy that imploded upon itself, erasing everything within its event horizon. It all happened in under 5 seconds.

~Scene Change~

Touch: "Are you sure you want me to kill you?"

Momonga: "Yeah, that's why I called you here."

After clearing the dungeon, I returned to the clan's base. To adopt the new racial class, I had to lower my level.

I needed to drop 27 levels for the change. This involved removing Imp from my racial classes and starting anew with the Demon racial class.

To remove the racial class, I needed to drop to level 0.

That would allow me to rechose a different racial class.

But, I could only choose the racial classes I had already unlocked. So, that's why I asked Touch Me to help me.

Touch: "Why not ask the other for this."

Momonga: "Because you are the strongest among them."

I was standing before Touch Me in his room. I had already stored all my items, so I wouldn't lose any items.

Touch: "Fine."

Momonga: "Thanks."

Touch swung his sword at me; because I hadn't buffed myself before this, he killed me in 2 hits.
